2024 was the year of the grail for me as I took a trip to Japan where I managed to fill a suitcase with all the stuff I have spent years searching for - my main highlights were the Final Fantasy 8 OST, Perfume - Level 3 and my number 1 all time favorite album Mad Capsule Markets - OSC DIS. That trip is one of my life highlights for many reasons but the feeling of finding so much in all the record stores of tokyo and osaka is going to be with me forever. As for 2025 there is a couple of things I want pressing to happen (Black Stone Cherry - Magic Mountain, Pretty Reckless - Light Me Up) but I'm so happy from last year I'm not upset if I find none
@@TooManyRecords If you are going I can not recommend enough spending a day in Shinjuku and Shibuya going to all the Disc Union shops they are a fantastic chain
I'm heading to Japan this year hopefully for first time ever. Why records so easy to find in Japan but not shipped to USA or other countries? Our grails their fails?
As you know, my wife was able to put a significant dent in my grail hunt. My Thrice and New Found Glory collections are pretty much finished. Also thanks to your shop! Especially on the NFG side. She also completed my Close Your Eyes collection, which included grails. I'm still on the lookout for Cartel - Chroma. I have a feeling it's due for a repress, since it's the 20 year anniversary this year. I'm also looking for more RX Bandits. Especially Progress, which seems impossible to find. Lastly, Lights - Self Titled. Another one which will come close to completing my collection but looks extremely hard to find.
I only added a couple “grails” in 2024. Finally got a copy of Complete Control: Reaction and got an unofficial release of Rollins Band: The End of Silence. It’s not exactly what I wanted, but it was an affordable option to be able to play it. Still looking for Los Olvidados: Listen To This!!! (I still don’t know why I didn’t buy it when it came out), X: Unclogged and if there was an “affordable” copy of Electric Wizard: Supercoven it would be hard to pass up. 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Have never seen Curtain, but I found Low’s Long Division in a record store for $70 two years ago. Still in pretty good shape after all these years. RIP Mimi
This year I randomly found, on separate occasions, 3 of the 7 Radiohead 12" TKOL RMX singles. If all goes well, I'll be in London, England in the spring... I'll be on the hunt for the other 4, or maybe the elusive full box set?!
Congrats on your pickups! I picked up my #1 grail last year, a sealed og Rust In Peace. I also got an original COF Nymphetamine. I am looking for an og MLB Apple and TFFL Leathur.
I got a few of my most wanted from last year, mostly from represses. Ben Folds Five - Whatever and Ever Amen (found a "deal" a few days before the repress was announced, although it ended up being an orange pressing so it's okay) 500 Days Of Summer Across The Universe Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 2 My top 7 to find this year 1. Oh Land - Oh Land (still) 2. Air Traffic - Fractured Life 3. Dodie - You (I'm pushing for a double EP pressing with that and Intertwined) 4. Cute Is What We Aim For - The Same Old (non-silver pressing) 5. Devin Townsend - Ziltoid The Omniscient 6. The Rocket Summer - Hello, Good Friend 7. Miike Snow - Miike Snow Also, I'm not including it because I know it's coming (or supposed to) but Blue October - History For Sale
My Dad has a huge vunyl collection from the '60s and over 90% are in mint condition. I will inherit these one day and have no idea what to do with them as there are so many along with his reel to reel collection and 8 track collection. He has three record players from the 60s that still work and are in excellent shape, so I guess I will have to store all of this somewhere.
Man....I was looking for Dwight Spitz for years. And then one day in 2022 it was on the wall at Grimeys 😎 for a good price too. That was 1 of Many records I wish I had bought on vinyl back in the day when I was still buying CDs. I'm a Huge Count Bass D fan. Since the 90s when he was on Vanderbilt Radio with Egon from Stones Throw. 911 Emergency was their show on 91.1 WRVU
@@TooManyRecords understand. I'll buy that too if I ever find it. First and foremost needed that album on vinyl. Have had that CD since it very first came out on High Times. One of my favorite hip hop albums. Count was a big influence on me. I got into real hip hop back in the day from his radio show and some others on 91.1 If I found the deluxe first....I'd still be looking for an OG. One of those albums I'll buy them all. You know how it is sometimes 😅👍
@@TooManyRecords hit up Elevator Vinyl in Nashville. Ask Tim (the owner) to keep an eye out for you for a copy of the Deluxe. I find Count stuff there every now and then. They're probably most likely to turn up in Nashville. Count lived here for a really long time. You both have stores. Probably could help each other out. I honestly would be shocked if he doesn't have a copy in his personal collection.
This video made me look closely at my copy of MM..Food and, even though my dumbass catalogued it as a first press, I actually have the 2007 misprint. Bah, I was so close!
One of my TOP grails is the Paramore All We Know Is Falling Hot Topic splatter vinyl, with 2 bonus songs (oh star & this circle) exclusively on vinyl and no dsp’s besides youtube. Just don’t feel like dropping $200+ on it 😭
No specific order: Big Audio Dynamite II: The Globe Hans Zimmer: Inception OST The Geto Boys: We Can’t Be Stopped The KLF: The White Room Q-Tip: Amplified Shaquille O’Neal: Shaq Diesel Sir Mix-A-Lot: Swass
@@katoduck Haven’t found The White Room yet (have to settle for the CD for now) but I did score one of the original vinyl copies of 1987 What The Fuck’s Going On? I thought I knew how weird the KLF were but this brought on a whole new dimension of weird.
This is always my favorite video you do!!!!!!
I love that you always talk about music from Brazil! That record by Gal Costa that I got at your shop is so damn good!
Right?! Love her experimental stuff.

I try to get to Japan annually. It is just next level for records and food and architecture and public transport and fashion and well, everything.

Great deal. I lived in Minnesota for awhile and even there I never saw early Low LPs

Sold my mmm food original and have the foil one and the one that came out a few years ago on the pink and green vinyl.
How'd the original sound?
i hear that first MF DOOM presses are subpar but keep us updated i’m really interested in your thoughts on it
I'm surprised there's no chatter about sound quality in the comments on the Discogs listing
@ ik same. i saw one guy say that OG madvillany sounds really bad so idk maybe MM Food is also subpar? just guessing here tho
Would love to see WZRD repressed and Among My Swan repressed
WZRD would be an insane one.
