- This is the Space Bowl water slide at Casey RACE (Recreation and Aquatic Centre) near Melbourne, Australia. The slide descends from the main tower structure, making a steep and dark turn. The enclosed tube is followed by the bowl section located inside the hall where guests spin several times, slowly approaching the hole in the middle of the bowl and eventually plunging into the pool underneath.

Dies ist die Space Bowl Trichterrutsche im Freizeitbad Casey RACE (Recreation and Aquatic Centre) nahe Melbourne, Australien. Vom Rutschenturm aus geht es in einer steilen, dunklen Linkskurve bergab in Richtung Trichter, welcher im Inneren der Schwimmhalle liegt. Dort dreht man mehrere Runden, bevor man durchs Loch in der Mitte ins darunter liegende Wasserbecken fällt.
Die 2009 eröffnete Anlage ist in städtischer Hand, wird jedoch von der YMCA Victoria betrieben.

I rode it today and they check if you're comfortable in deep water first before they let you ride. 2.4m exit pool depth is definitely believable - it's a bit over 1.5x the height of most adults (sounds a lot shallower when put in those terms, I think). I believe they would have calculated how deep someone of the max weight allowed (136kg) would go when dropped from the height of the bowl at the max speed possible on the slide, and then added an extra 50cm or so for contingency and to ensure nobody would hit the bottom of the pool during the drop and hurt themselves.
Any aussie with a decent childhood is comfortable swimming. We are taught young
