When you say speed because you didn't look before your turn. Probably did check it but didn't check it again when making the turn. Blame speed because you can't accept responsibility.
I applaud the drivers that admit fault. There are not enough of them diving. or around in general. As for the hit and run people a huge fine and loss of their license should be the minimum, if caught.
From an insurance professional, one should never apologize or admit fault, as there may be circumstances you are not aware of that would attribute liability to the other driver. Be empathetic, call authorities, exchange info, and move vehicles to the side of the road, if possible.
Many years ago I was in a head-on collision while turning left and didn't see the little Dodge Colt bolting thru the intersection SB on White Bear Ave & Hudson Road in St. Paul, MN. My 1972 LTD wagon sustained little damage but the Colt was totalled and I felt bad for his wife who was trying to light a cigarette and her head broke the windshield. I was ticketed for failure to yield ROW and since the cop insisted it was my fault, I went along with it. That accident bothered me for years and one day I finally took the time to analyze it and found it it was NOT my fault, but the fault of the Colt's driver. A large moving truck was facing me and was turning left to go east on Hudson RD, I was trying to go west on Hudson Rd. Since White Bear Ave has no turn lanes you make left turns from the fast lane. The Colt was approaching the moving truck from behind and illegally made a lane shift over a solid line and ran into me. Oh well, too late to do anything about it now. I often wondered why the driver of that Colt wasn't very upset about the wreck, now I know why. He knew it was his fault but let me take the blame for it...typical "Minnesota Nice", huh? I drove my winter-beater LTD a few more years and retired the old gal. Was a great car, even drove it to Florida the next year. It just kept on running and was still good to go when I gave it to the junk man, that was when the passenger door fell off from years of rusting in Minnesota and my wife told me to get rid of it :-(
To answer the question for the 30:52 clip, the person who GOT rear ended is at fault. You stopped in the middle of the lane at a green light to go straight. No wonder you got rear ended. You can't just stop in the middle of the road like that.
Yes, I had to watch that clip several times. The red light is glaringly obvious, and it took my a few rewatches to realize that must be for turning left because there is indeed a green light in front of his lane. I was looking to see if anyone else answered this
I had to rewatch so many times to see the crash. Yeah they stopped at green light. Ig thinking because the others was stopped it's red bad move 100% at fault
Nope. It is allowed to stop in the road at any time for any reason (moving INTO someone's lane and brake checking them is not the same thing, this person was in the same lane the whole time, the driver behindhas the responsibility to stop). It is up to cars following to maintain a safe distance, regardless the colour of the light. Look it up! That poor person has been screwed by a better lawyer, simple as that.
@@theashenfox yep, after 1.5 million miles I just had my first accident. Turning right on a light that was green, I looked left to check for red light runners, guy I was following stopped in the middle of the road and I hit him. 100% at fault 🤦
I don't live in Milwaukee personally but I do live in Wisconsin as a whole can confirm that most drivers just suck with roundabouts. They always try to test the speed and hop over to the point that one of the ones just outside of town was heightened so you cant get over it anymore.
Are roundabouts rare in the US? In my country there are lots of them. We have speed limit signs before them and signs informing you're approaching a roundabout. Extremely hard not to notice them.

Yeah that and also idk how it is in other places. But in Sweden there is a rule that you have to stop at a stop sign for at least 3 sec before you drive out. Even if there are no cars.
@@JohnBlund94 yeah you have to come to a complete stop before going thru a stopsign here. even if you have the right of way it’s advised you wait ab 3 seconds and check all directions before going. the honda that the cammer hit didn’t have a stop sign however, so the cammer is 100% in the wrong no matter how you look at it
Yup. Going to say the same thing. Just because he made a complete stop doesn't mean he can continue without care to incoming traffic. Looks like the west to east cross traffic doesn't have a stop, besides, they were in possession of the lane. It was his job to continue WHEN SAFE regardless if he made a stop or not.
Definitely, it's the cammer's fault. And that Honda was not speeding excessively at all. It's just the cammer didn't see it because the turning car blocked his view. You're not supposed to enter a road when you can't see it.
@10:05 honestly this should be a perfect example of how sometimes accidents just happen. how many drive on the passing lane late night? that could have been anyone, especially with low visablity . scary man yall be safe out there

Some things I’ve noticed from watching dash cam videos: 1. If you glance away or get distracted for a moment you miss the whole thing. It’s the same when you are behind the wheel! 2. I am fascinated by the different music/audio books/podcasts/talk radio people listen to while driving.
I have learned from watching these videos… light turns green.. pause and look both ways in rear and side view. Never depend on others to stop. Thank you!
35:45 Wait, so you're telling me this dude literally exploded somebody's house, severely injuring an occupant and all he gets is "driving without a license"?
@@kinagrill that would imply that it was intentional. He probably lost control and accidentally hit the house it just happened that he hit the gas meter, thats what cause the explosion. It says that no one was seriously injured though.
I’d be more willing to believe excessive speed was the cause of the accident if the car with the dash cam managed to make 3/4 of their turn and was struck in the rear/side of the car. But instead you see them pull out and their front end scrapes the “speeding” car, which means the cause of the crash is most likely you not paying attention, assuming the other car would yield for you, or just trying to shoot through a gap in traffic that wasn’t really there.
29:04 So refreshing to here someone admit fault openly like that. Kudos on you motorcycle driver for being a decent human being and acting mature about it. Too few of those these days, regardless of vehicle used.
Once advice for 'new drivers' - you know the speedlimit thing? yeah, it's a LIMIT. not a required speed to reach when in that area. There's no legal 'minimum speed' in traffic. you just have to keep the traffic flow going without causing issues. Cuz if there's a bit pileup-style slow-move on a highway, it's not like that's illegal. the traffic is just going slow even tho it's a 110 kph limit road.
@@flyingturret208thecannon5 Yup, there is impeding traffic. you need to let the 'traffic flow' keep up, but if you're going down an empty highway, you have no requirement to do so at 90 kph.

I love how so many people don't understand the physics behind the continuation of motion when it comes to roundabouts. I drive box trucks almost daily for work and have yet to touch the curb with my tires or exceed the lines on the outside, yet I see countless folks with even tiny cars like Sentras and Spectras and Yaris' routinely not account for either their place in space or the continuation of motion affecting their steering, suspension and tracking forces acting on the vehicle as it proceeds forward. Then they try to counter this by proceeding at an overcautiously slow speed to the point they almost stop because of the lack of throttle-input. How can some people be so bad at this? As someone who routinely drifted around roundabouts in Florida, all without hitting anything or anyone (I've never had a single speeding ticket or traffic collision since getting my learner's permit at 15, I'm 31 presently), I can say that it's not about speed solely, but a lack of proper understanding in the limitations of ones own car. Before I tried anything on a roadway, I practice in vehicles off-road so I know how much stop is stop, how much go is go and what all the other components have to say in the matter. It's all very much a "seat of the pants" driving-style that I have. That way, when I drive it's like the car is having a conversation with me. It feels more like an extension of myself. Most people can't be bothered to think like that... hell, I'm surprised at how many people actually have driver licenses, given how little effort they put into actually driving. They'd rather be on their phones or putting on make-up or shaving or eating or messing with the radio...all things that must be done off-road. When you're that distracted, are you really thinking about body roll and suspension travel, what tire is gripping with what degree of contact and which is lifting off, what gear ratio are you running and what sort of downshift would work best to match entry speed, what kind of diff are you running and with what layout, what are the entry and exit lines for optimal power transfer, etc.? That's how you end up with people going faster than their physical grip or mechanical inputs can handle, and you get repeat spectacular-crash areas like that Milwaukee roundabout.

Agreed, the driver that hit them had right of way unless he blew a stop sign which doesn't sound like the case.
So true.

@@computernerdinside The brake lights were on, but by that time it looks like the front left brake might have been torn off anyway.

One cammer didn’t let him merge that was the issue, he just sped up and blocked him
Yea, heaven forbid if he is a whole car length behind.
Yeah. He's a narcissist and did that on purpose.
Yep the Dumb Åss Michaellorenzo18 is a idiot for not letting them merge
Douche move. Just let people in, Jesus.
Agreed. In most of the merging scenarios (and a lot of the "pulled out in front of me" scenarios) if the cammer had only let off the gas for 2 seconds the entire incident could've been avoided. Always assume every driver is about to to the dumbest thing you can think of and be prepared for it. Evasive driving 101 folks. It's a giant hassle to get a car repaired, not to mention the expense adding to the cost of insurance as a whole only to... prove a point? To "own" the person that made a silly mistake?
45:29 "I saw the stopped car with the emergency lights flashing (and) started to move lo the left and blew my horns" We're sorry the correct answer was "so I slowed down".
Right! He would've hit the traffic in front anyway if the other guy hadn't cut in...
The beat drop when the two drunk guys on the electric scooter in Sweden is perfection! Like it was choreographed!
that Milwaukee roundabout took out more vehicles than the rest of this video
I have this to say about that. My greater community has not had a freaking traffic circle since like, 1850. So, if your community still has one, or has put one in, and you get visitors, remember that most of us don't know how to f-king use one, find them very f-king confusing, and will scream at you; "For heaven's sake, just put in a f-king traffic light!"
@@annehenry6243 Roundabout =/= traffic circle. The only thing they have in common is that they’re circular. A roundabout is a lot better than both a crossing and a traffic circle.
If you were talking about a roundabout though: How are they confusing? They’re a normal traffic element, you’re supposed to know how to use one.
@@coenogo Around here, they're all "traffic circles". No one seems to know how to use them; who goes, who stops, who yields, the two ppl in the state who do know how to use them, just ride your behind on the horn until they turn off. I don't know about recently, but my class was not taught these in drivers ed, so on the rare times we run into one, it can be confusing. It's such a "euro" thing, I'll take 4-way stop any day.
@@annehenry6243 Roundabouts are statistically better in almost every regard though:
1. Higher traffic capacity
2. Less maintenance
3. More pedestrian-friendly
4. Safer due to lower speed
5. Safer due to lack of head-on traffic
6. No electricity usage
Here in the Netherlands, roundabouts are basically the norm. This is because of a program called “Sustainable Safety” that all infrastructure designers have to follow.
There are signs at roundabouts that tell you who yields to whom. When in doubt, SLOW DOWN and let other drivers go ahead of you since they are such hard-charging b*stards anyway...

For seeing all these I want front & back cameras! People are such LYERS!
There's no such thing as a "minor" brain bleed.
7:05 that girl needs to have her license taken away. Or needs to not be driving in traffic until she learns more and can act like an adult.
Adults struggle too and do awful shit aswell. Yes she shouldn't be driving when she is not able to do it safely. When you are that emotional you can't concentrate well and should take a break to calm down, that's driver's ed 101. Don't know what's it got to do with "acting like an adult" tho. She's probably like 16 or something. Start a petition to set the driving age to 18 instead of complaining then. Statistics show that 16 yo's cause the most accidents. I'm guessing it's because their brains are basically underdeveloped. USA laws suck lmao
@@kam-lw4ez The legal age for driving is 17, 16 is when you’re just starting out.
@@kam-lw4ez honestly that statistics is not useful, when most start out, they're bound to make mistakes. So even if you change the minimum age to 18, stats just shift to most accidents by 18 year olds.
The builder of that police station in Sycamore is a fricken ARTISAN, not even a slight vibration from that impact. It will still be standing when we are extinct.
I know, right? Building 1, Car 0.
Might be a stronger building in case or a deliberate attack.

@Darkdodger137 And here he is hopping out of the taxi, cigarette hanging out of his mouth OH&S will have a field day with him.
I'd MUCH prefer having a sloppy old lout who smokes cigarettes inside a taxi that he likely doesn't clean but once a week vs. an Uber with an intelligent courteous driver in a clean vehicle with no tobacco smells.
Gives a lot of support for driver retesting every few years.
My thought initially at 12 months, then every 4-5 years, full retest. no rain checks.
Some people deserve to have accidents.
21:56 I’d always wondered how long it took to empty an above ground pool.
It did a great job in absorbing the energy of the crashing car...
stopping it from smashing the house...

33:16 This was in Delaware - this caused an organic peroxide spill that shut down all of the 8 lane highway for almost 12 hours. The peroxide needed to be burned off, and people in the surrounding area - which included my own home - were told to stay indoors as the fumes were dangerous.

I love how a good majority of crashes just happen at the Milwaukee roundabout.
Seems like a bad spot
7:13 girl just went full on demon lol... some people should NOT be allowed to drive lol
sometimes i wish a tank wasn't so damn expensive ... i'd drive a btr70 or similar just to be safe and having a can o' paint would be enough for anything ....

@Dakota Vegas I think anyone who has just had their legs shattered between 2 tons of metal and a brick wall is entitled to be a bit dramatic about it.
@Dakota Vegas I wonder how you would be if you got your leg or legs smashed between a car and bricks? Have you seen how some people react to stubbing their toe? Haven't you ever rolled around in pain? I would not call that being dramatic, I would call that reacting to being hit by a car and pinned between the car and bricks.
Unless you're having a medical emergency, stupidity is to blame for most crashes. "Driver Error" is the nice word.

20:43 It put a grin on my face to hear "Smugglers Blues" playing as the police roll code 3 through an intersection. After watching several of these videos, I've learned that you DO NOT talk about dash-cams in the presence of your dash-cam! You are just inviting something to happen!
