@@animeshbhaimandaljain7340 could be I was just saying in general. Anyways cement is very challenging sector to "value". I have been following stock markets for a long time and found cement and pharma as the most challenging sectors to value.
Cement is valued on EV/ton i.e. enterprise value per ton of installed capacity. But then how do you differentiate between the players. Why do some players get more value than others. Never understood this. But yes Ultratech has been the leader and that is reflected in its share price. It has always traded at premium to its peer. Previously Shree Cement was the most expensive but now it has lost its premium value.
I think the game, the play of Adani Group is try and emulate what KM Birla did with Ultratech Cement. Over the years Ultratech has significantly increased its capacity through both greenfield capacity addition and fresh acquisitions. Ultratech also expanded via the acquisition route by buying Binani Cement, Century Textile Cement division, Kesoram Industries cement division. So basically all the family related cement businesses and those owned by Marwaris were bought by KM Birla who himself is Marwari.
Now the Gujju Mr. Adani is trying to beat him. By buying Swedish owned Holcim and then Sanghi Cement and now Pennar Cement.
We did not see this angle. The Marwari versus Gujju fight for dominance in the cement industry.
