- The Original Bert Kaempfert Medley
In November 1979, Bert Kaempfert and his orchestra went on tour . In 14 sold-out concerts , he presented for the first time in Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland with 40 musicians and the Botho Lucas Chor . As a soloist trumpeter Ack van Rooyen , trombonist Jiggs Whigham and the Swedish jazz singer Sylvia Vrethammar were there.

I find it all strangely comforting. Mid-60s, easy-listening. Not jazz, not pop, just light-hearted music coming out of the radio while we ran errands in our Rambler.

Kampert was a genius I remember dad playing his albums Sunday mornings on the old hi fi back in the day.
I remember my father listen to "Fips" Kaempfert in the 60's and 70's. And dancing with my mum to the music of Bert Kaempfert sometimes. I was visiting my parents in march 2019,my dad was suffering from cancer, and I picked on of his LP's, "Wonderland by Night" from BK and the looks of my parents between the two. My dad passed away, just 3 Weeks later...finding this mix touched me so deeply, sitting here in 2020 and remembering my dad, my mum and their kind of music

@@luismorillo100 thank you. They had bee married for almost 59 years and were never separated. The one love, that most of us possibly never have the chance to achieve...now she's left alone and 78 years old. And the only man she ever loves passed away. I don't know, if it's better to wish her, that she follows Dad in a certain time or help her to figure out how life is without him.
Sadly, the world is a very different place today, I mourn the loss of an era we will never see again. I am on my way to 86 and have lived through the best times in so many ways. This is my kind of music, the sort I play on my modern keyboard (one of the good things), I hope you can find peace and comfort for your dear mother, marriages like hers are also a thing of the past. Best wishes from ‘down under’ Tasmania, an island paradise.

The timing of the trumpet and trombone players is magnificent.
It is actually Ack van Rooyen on Flugelhorn in the beginning. He is still active at age 90!

Sadly Ack van Rooyen passed away a month ago. He was one of my inspirations to pick up the flugelhorn. I wish I could have seen him live.

My Dad introduced me to Bert Kaempfert's music when I was a child in the 60's. I've never lost my love for Bert's music. Truly one of the greats.

Bert Kaempfert was a great bandleader without question. But do you know Kurt Edelhagen? Personally, I think there has never been and never will be a better one. Even Count Basie, certainly not unknown, had to admit that the Edelhagen Big Band sets the standard - worldwide! But art and music are also a matter of taste and therefore so diverse :-)

This has been one of my favorite for the last over five decades. Fantastic composition.
Such an era. Such a signature sound.
Let's not forget that Bert co-wrote such song hits as "Spanish Eyes", "Strangers In the Night", "L.O.V.E" and "Danke Schoen".
Bert Kaempfert: Simply the greatest!
This great music was way before my time but it's phenomenal! The way all the instruments and voices come together. It's all fantastic and magical. Glad I have the ear and mind to enjoy it.
In some sort of way this is a timeless music. Like James Last or Glen Miller. I have heard this as a child, as a teen and now some decades later sometimes I put the vinyls of my Dad onto the turntable.

I have fallen so much in love with Klaus Wunderlich's Pop Party, but 1 song of Bert Kaempfert, "Treat for Trumpet" has led me to the world of music, thanks to Shazam, I didn't even know the title of the song I was looking for. I had known at least the lead song for the this current Medley, but I didn't know it was by the same Bert Kaempfert. It is so wonderful. I am in for many more surprises. Thanks for all your soothing comments.

What an EXCELLENT display of PROFESSIONAL musicians showing their talent to play various instruments etc... I Love it. Unfortunately that's a rare thing nowadays....I would pay good money to see such a performance like this and take my baby so we both could ENJOY it together!!

We are lucky to have seen all that we have , considering where present day standards are . We are the Last Humans .
As a teen I worked Saturdays in a department store, Bert Kaempfert was played on PA system at least every hour. It drove me mad. As I matured I find myself drawn to his music, I'm in my 60s now and appreciate how lucky I am to have grown up with this music.
If I don't know the year it's filmed I like to try to guess by the hairstyle and fashion.
One just cannot beat this kind of music...What a slection

En los años 70s en supermercados y en los cuartos de slgunos hoteles tenían esta música ambiental y todavia en los 80s la contratabas para la oficina con Musak

Fantastic arranging. The soloist Ach van Rooyen (Dutch of course) is playing flugelhorn, hence his wonderful sound. Ach is in his 80s and still plays great jazz on flugelhorn.

Still my fafo orchestra from the past. I still often play his songs. The special structure, chords, the various instruments, interplay. Unique at the time. Great, eternal, timeless. is and remains my favorite orchestra.

Bert came to my attention with Red Roses for a Blue Lady, and that was 1964, and loved his music until now. Had the pleasure of visiting his office in ‘99. Wow! The number of gold records on his wall! . An amazing trip. Thanks for presenting that wonderful video of the maestro.

Una excelente muestra de música instrumental. Buenos temas , un gran director arreglador musical. El sonido es óptimo , en un stereo panorámico de equilibrio perfecto entre orquesta , coro y solista. Conocí la música de Kaempfert siendo un niño de 10 años. Mis padres compraron un disco Long Play de la serie Carrera de Éxitos. Era en la década de los años 60 ... siglo pasado. Pero es increíble volver ahora en 2020 a escuchar esta música producida en ese tiempo , en una presentación deTV de mucho profesionalismo , y sorprenderse tanto.
!Qué falta hace este tipo de expresiones ... esta entrega tan hermosa !!
