Knowing how this will end, im finding it hard to continue reading this artistic novel. It truly deserves to be called "one of the greatests". That being said, whenever I read, i cant help but mourn and wonder about them. I know they're fictional characters, but so much about them-their love, struggles, anger, jealosy, despair...its all so much. Great job on the video. I think you chose a perfect song to go with this drama and the scenes you picked.
@@fayepineda1698 yes and no. The author passed away before it was truly complete, so it was finished by others..there's a whole to do on it you can find that will explain better than I. It's the decline of a once great house, so it "ends" with things having fallen apart. Not all characters have bad ends, but they dont all walk away with their wealth either. I dont want to give spoilers, but if you want a book with a happy ending you may want to pass or just look up articles on it instead. If you don't mind bitter sweet or realistic endings, then read it :)

First Comment to read 5 years late. But i will try. This song is written in Literary Chinese and has many allusions and has the silhouettes of many works by others. First off, the saying "刹那芳华" (ephemeral beauty, transient beauty) is from jin yong's book 《天龙八部》 or Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. "On the edge of the sea, at the end of the sky, grows a special flower of light. within an instant, it sprouts, seeds, buds, flowers, blossoms, ripens, and withers. This flower, though born beautiful, dies in complete desolation." and 红颜弹指老,刹那芳华 Beauty disappears within the bat of an eye. it is but transient beauty. It is also from a buddhist scripture: "Before the Buddha there grows a flower. It is named "tan". It takes 1000 years to sprout, 1000 years to bud, and 1000 years to blossom. But when it does, it blossoms and wilts instantly. Its beauty is but a fleeting moment. All in all, this saying is used to describe a beautiful person or thing.

Ba qian nian yu lao, yi ye ku rong.

9 is the number which exceeds all numbers. there is no greater number than 9.
7千秋北斗,瑶宫寒苦,不若神仙眷侣,百年江湖
千秋北斗 - thousand autumns and the north dipper
if a divine emperor like the one in the song is saying this, he is expressing his ambitions to lead his empire
to flourish for a thousand years.
瑶宫寒苦 - My home, although beautiful, was bitter and cold.
瑶宫 is from another book and it is used to describe beautiful or ornate houses.
宫 means palace or temple and in the past it is often regarded as where gods live.
寒苦 - cold and bitter
不若神仙眷侣,百年江湖 -
不若 - isnt as good as.
神仙 gods and immortals
眷侣 a happy couple
神仙眷侣 - a happy couple which is as free and unbound as gods and immortals.
百年江湖 - a hundred years on jianghu
and so this phrase means that he would rather choose his love with kongsang to be free from responsibility and to wander on jianghu for a lifetime than his seat on the throne and his ambitions. The emperor's palace was to cold and bitter.
jianghu is used to describe the martial world in ancient china.
