This was my favorite PNSO figure for 2019,and I still love it after 2 years. Epsically, because DinosDragons is just so cool and make good videos, and is cool. Also happy Mosasaurus Week.
I'm happy that you have it! This is really a model that you have to actually have to fully understand how incredible it is. Happy Mosasaur week to you too!
After waiting too long, I finally purchased this at a reduced price on eBay. In hand, this figure is much better than expected. By far the best mosasaurus available, dorsal fin questions or not. Not really certain I see the need on a sea going reptile for such a small dorsal fin. Cetaceans have them of all shapes and sizes so who knows. The color scheme used on this figure is terrific and the application superb. I highly recommend this sea beast. And….another wonderful, in depth review.
I'm absolutely delighted you managed to get your hands on one! This is one of the pieces I love best in my marine animals, even though some updates may have occurred here in there in the anatomy including as you say, the dorsal fin. That skin is unreal, and reminds me of the skin on the pomfrets my mum used to cook. And getting it at a reduced price instead of the inflated prices posted by scalpers and crooks really is a double happiness! 😁
I have acquired this model recently,.... and I have to say that the paint job in which I have received is still excellent, with the realistic shine of the skin that can be seen in your video. I have also verified with satisfaction that the one I have received has a continuity in the painting of the neck area, which do not have others that I have seen in the review videos, which have an obvious difference in paint between the two sides of the neck seam, mine has also the tongue painted in a pink tone with darker shades in red . Excellent review as always
I am _absolutely delighted_ to hear that! There's always a fear that later production run models have deterioriated greatly from the first few ones. I'm glad you got the one you did! You can see as 'old' as some of the presentation is, it was certainly something special in its time!
I'm glad I reminded you of it! PNSO came to the fore only last year, but it's been slowly and steadily growing from strength to strength over the years. Even their earliest figures were already winners on many fronts! It's not surprising they are where they are today.
Really nice review! I'll be getting a PNSO Mosasaurus and doing a review in the summer. But at the same time collecta is releasing an Elasmosaurus, which I'm really excited about! I sent a message to PNSO requesting that they do a Liopleurodon. I hope its considered...!
Thanks mate! I think you will really enjoy this, and reviewing figures helps you discover new things to appreciate you might not have otherwise. PNSO does take note of feedback, although they aren't exactly known for replying lol!
I especially am interested in this model because how they made the skin texture very similar to modern-day monitor lizards that are unironically the closest living relatives of mosasaurs. Very thoughtful decision. Might check one out of my shopping cart.
It is indeed a very beautiful model! I do hope that if you get one, the paint application will still be up to par. This came out quite a long time ago, and there are usually paint application falloffs with subsequent production runs.
Mosasaurus was named after Meuse, a river from Western Europe, where its fossils were discovered. It was an efficient ocean predator said to have feasted on just about anything during its time, from sharks to even its smaller kind.
Best prehistoric animal models: pnso mosasaurus, pnso kronosaurus, pnso trex, pnso allosaurus.Notice they'll all pnso, the company that manages to pull off this fantastic realistic look that other companies don't manage to achieve, even papo and eofauna, you name it
PNSO indeed has been able to develop the best mix of sculpting, accuracy, and paint application I've seen, but I hope they can keep that up. There have been some misfires when it comes to paint applications, including some recent ones, and I wonder if they switched service providers. Papo has never claimed to be trying to be scientifically accurate, being more into detail work. I have ever only had their Allosaurus and Carnotaurus, and none of their other offerings I recall excite me. Really in my mind when they producted the monstrosity called Baryonyx, I stopped paying attention to them as possibly ever going to have anything I would want. EoFauna though... these guys are good. They have the sculpt, they have the scientific research of course, but wow those paint apps! 😥 If they could repeat something like the Atlassaurus... they would give PNSO a run for the money!
Is your copy an old or newly purchased one? I've heard that for older PNSO figures, later production runs dont have the same paint quality as the initial releases.
Mine is an old one. In fact it was the first run, but I just hadn't opened him until recently. And yes, it's unfortunate but I've heard of plenty of stories of later runs of PNSO figures having a poorer paint job than the original runs.

Thanks Daniel... I am celebrating it with this model on my desk this month!
Your review just sold me on this figure. Thank you.
I'm delighted to hear it! It is truly awesome. I hope you can get one at sane prices!

"And if i'm wrong my credibility would be really forked here" hahaha
😁 Thank you for paying close attention 🤣
I haven’t seen any of pnso’s aquatic figures this is beautiful, amazing review!
Thanks Austin, this was really a wonderful piece. One of those you have to actually hold in hand to believe or appreciate!
A pretty overlooked figure, I forgot about until now.

I’ve been looking forward to this review:) love it!
Glad you appreciate this old figure! It was one of those figures that made a definite statement when PNSO came back that they intend to STAY!

@@DinosDragons i did not know that. Thanks for the information!
oh one of the best toy ever
It is! I can't believe I had it kept away for so long. It belongs out in the open!

Yes I _have_ heard the theory of potentialy cannibalism! This was an awedome apex predator!

Special week of the mosasaurus
Indeed... they deserve some love... even the _real_ ones, not just the Jurassic World Kaijus 😂
This is my first pnso figure and mine came with a little extra surprise: a piece of curly hair
I don't think we want to know what that was... just wipe down your figure and enjoy it lol 😁

What is the word you use to describe the body shape? Bowel plan?
"Bauplan". All of my RUclips videos for the last year or so have subtitles. They are usually available about two hours after I post each video. 😊
@@DinosDragons thank you!
T-rex of the deep
It's one big mother, though I would say that accolade works better for pliosaurs!
