If they want to make sure the sport survives, manufacturers need to keep the price down. A sled that costs as much as a Honda Civic is crazy. Unless they want to bank on rich people to keep the sport alive 😳.

Actually The Yamaha Phazer wasn't the first snowmobile to have TSS front suspension, it was the 81 SRX440, Then the 82 SRV, then The 83 VMax and then finally in 84 the PZ480 got it..

Arctic Cat Ruled as the fastest sled from 1981 thrugh 1984 with their El'Tigre 6000 500 cc LC ch mark. Nothing came close. I lived through these years....trust me. The cats ruled. And they had the best deep snow flotation as well.

This just goes to show that Yamaha is a sad shadow of its former self.

I had a Polaris Xc 700 45th anniversary edition sled. It had an electronic shock in the rear skid that was handlebar switch adjustable from soft to hard. It really was noticeable the difference in ride. Nothing in front though. That would have been nice.

I wonder if Yamaha will continue a relationship with arctic cat now that they have been bought by Textron. Textron has several products that could be a conflict of interest between the two companies.

That's all we get on the ground breaking Alpha Cat...??? Some of us want some honest opinions before we spring order! comparison to the ascender mountain cat? Pros? Cons?

Jason McMurray I'd give it another year before ordering an Alpha. Let's see where this goes first.

Yamaha’s biggest mistake was phasing our 2 strokes completely. They should’ve left 2 strokes available for mountain sleds at the very least

yamaha i think only in contract with cat untill they retool and come out swinging with awsome new technology lighter frame even new engines its just my thought but back in 1982 they pulled back new sledds because of issues with 1981 sledds not being safe a major recall was done, and the VMAX came out in 1983 and took snowmobiling by surprise so i think either there done or something big is coming

if they want to sell more sledds sell quantity with quality meaning lower the price sell more sledds keep people working but nobody gets it they want top dollor and then those damn fees that is what going to kill new snowmobile purchase look at harley davidson i have a 2006 its worth half of what i paid 10 years ago used go back to the 80s90s i could sell that for what i paid because harley overpriced their bikes over msrp so used sold high but look now their shutting down factories

I found it strange that they were talking about Yamaha with no real point to the segment. Just a plug for Yamaha I guess ?

90% of these shows covers polaris or ski doo? If there's a bias, it's not for Yamaha....the proof is in the pudding.
