I enjoy this history and watches from Seiko. I have a 1962 Seiko Sportsmatic with a silver sunburst dial that is striking and it keeps time like no other watch I own.
There's Always something amazing about a cheap little seiko. Theyre like the sporty hatchback thats more fun to drive than the more expensive SUV/saloon.
Yeah also think that ALL the time. I know he likes to be different (said it in many videos) but that hairstyle really kinda grinded my gears and the new hairstyle fits him so much better.
Great video idea. Seiko. There really is always one I love. Enjoying the heck out of the Pogue theme Spdtimer. They've upmarketed a bit but I still respect anyone's decision to go Seiko. It'll never let you down.
Excellent review and think experience. Following your criteria, my top three brands as follows. 1. Rolex/Tudor - buy watch: Tudor Chrono; 2. Seiko - buy watch: Captain Willard reissue; 3. Longines - buy watch: new black Ultra-Chron (after they convert to a rotating bezel).
Definitely on the same page with Breitling. I sold my Super Ocean 42 awhile back after I swore I’d never get rid of it. Then today I bought the previous avenger gmt white dial to re-scratch the Breitling itch.
I was somewhat surprised to see Cartier as your no 1, and was somewhat expecting Rolex/Tudor based on your history. Well said about all these brands; my current unpopular watch related opinion is that Seiko is still underrated.
That was a surprise for me! Thought Omega would be number 1 for you , but, Cartier was a pleasant outcome. For me it has fluctuated , but, currently; Grand Seiko, Hanhart and Glasshutte original. Best not do honourable mentions 😂
Great picks and video. I think my favorites from each would be a Cartier Santos WSSA0039, black brushed steel case and black dial on a rubber strap that has screws in it. It's a contradiction in style. Looks elegant with a suit, but can also be worn in a bar room brawl (not that I participate in bar room brawls 😄) just gives those vibes. Breitling would be a Premier BO9 Chronograph with the pistachio color dial AB0930D31L1P1 or the Avenger Night Mission S17328101B1X1. Seiko I'll go for the Prospex Alpinist SPB155 or Seiko Prospex Speedtimer "Pogue" SSC947.
For me it’s Rolex and Breitling… I got into watches in the late 2000s when a 46/48mm case was so cool and I couldn’t afford those and ended up with a montbrillant datora (43mm)… it aged so well on a tan leather strap. Now I have a 43mm Navitimer with the gold wings and a previous gen yellow superocean and absolutely love the splash of colour in my collection. Like you I would love to add a chronomat to my collection but want the Ireland IRFU version released in the UK. If you’ve got a favourite NFL team, they also have some cool releases that just came out
Absolutely love Omega. Owned about 10 different Speedmaster and Seamaster models over the years. Big fan of what they are doing. I would say they rank 5 or 6 for me in the most enjoyable watch brands after these 3 and Rolex
I’m also a bracelet guy. I notice you generally keep more links on the inside of the watch thus pushing the clasp more towards the outside of the watch. Wondering if there was a reason behind it? Keep up the good work.
I appreciate that. I try to center the clasp on my wrist where possible. Sometimes, if the swing arm is super curvy, I try to position it on that outside edge so it fits more naturally.
Tudor would be the one for me. I own four. PRO, BB41, gmt opaline dial and Pelagos blue date. Second would be Rolex. I have bought them for my family. In total I bought 6. Green mint date just and Starbucks are my favorites. 3 would be King Seiko. I have omega Aqua Terra- not happy with it. Grand Seiko gmt is a beautiful piece but I’m done with buying watches without tfit on the fly adjustment
Just discovered your channel and subscribed as we apparently have similar taste. I managed to find a Tank Must XL in Paris a few years ago and it’s absolutely my favorite. My first luxury watch was a used Breitling Galactic 41 in blue and I’m happy to say I hope to keep it forever. Thanks for the great videos and can’t wait to see what you’ll cover next.
I loved the chronomat and had to have one. It’s definitely not an every day piece in my opinion though, as it is SUPER top heavy. Moved on from it pretty quickly, but I know that’s not an issue for you.
Also, it's nice to hear someone talking about Cartier. A Tank Must Xl with an in-house calibre for $5k is super compelling. The Ballon Bleu is also achingly beautiful, though no one even knows what it is.
Some nice picks there, I certainly concur with Cartier as a choice, the quality is top notch and they have that x factor. I just wish I had a swath sophisticated profession so I could wear it every day.
Breitling and Seiko for me are an antidote to brands that play it safe to appeal to the masses but to me can feel boring..... Seiko and Breitling may not be the best value proposition or the absolute best quality, but at least they have character and are interesting, they don't seem to be designed by committee or designed to appeal to everyone. If I never see another Tudor Black Bay I couldn't care less... Technically excellent but bores me to death
+1 for both Breitling and Seiko. The issue with Seiko and microbrands is that any number of microbrands use Seiko movements and form factors, yet outdo the specs for cheaper. The value proposition is just no longer there for the lower end models.
My collection is well over 150 individual pieces among dozens of brands. Not sure my exact top three but Timex would definitely be in the top Five! I'd probably put Vaer and Christopher Ward in there, too. Hard to say. 🤔
Breitling was fantastic up until end of the 2000s. Lately, the quality (and reputation) has diminished considerably. They’ve become like fossil- shopping mall watches. Gone are the days of hard core tool/ professional watches. The “chronolog” annual books (those were EPIC) with the incredible photography. Just flipping through the pages got your heart racing. They’d send you high quality merch when you bought a watch. You were part of an exclusive club with Breitling. I’m actually wearing my hunk of steel 2000 super ocean pro. Now this is the personification of solid, kick-ass professional tool watch. Georges Kern has castrated the brand sadly.

Been meaning to say this for the last couple videos: your hairstyle is 1000x better these days than the gelled spiky look. Kudos for switching it up.
Yeah also think that ALL the time. I know he likes to be different (said it in many videos) but that hairstyle really kinda grinded my gears and the new hairstyle fits him so much better.

🤌
Great video and was surprised not to see Rolex. The Ti Chronomat is really good too.
Hi there i saw ur video on the seiko pogue and love ❤️ it so I got it wow ❤ thank you it a keeper for me 🎉
Definitely on the same page with Breitling. I sold my Super Ocean 42 awhile back after I swore I’d never get rid of it. Then today I bought the previous avenger gmt white dial to re-scratch the Breitling itch.

That Thailand edition Seiko Monster is very nice!
Thank you

All great ones!
Cartier and Seiko - couldn't agree more!
Great video format.
Hey Bruce, that Datora looks really really awesome imo.

That superocean heritage is a hot looking watch...
Enjoying Omega, have 3 at the moment...well made, accurate, sporty and a world class company.
Seiko diver watches standout of the group that everyman should have one like a Toyota Land cruiser.
Love Breitling, especially the Schneider era.

Nice presentation Bruce. Thoughts on your Omega watches?
Absolutely love Omega. Owned about 10 different Speedmaster and Seamaster models over the years. Big fan of what they are doing. I would say they rank 5 or 6 for me in the most enjoyable watch brands after these 3 and Rolex
Brietling.. Ahh sketchy dude alert 😅
A telltale sign for sure! Don't judge me too harshly though I do like Pink Floyd as well
@@BruceWilliams i have several Breitlings and love them all. Great watches IMO
I’m also a bracelet guy. I notice you generally keep more links on the inside of the watch thus pushing the clasp more towards the outside of the watch. Wondering if there was a reason behind it?
Keep up the good work.

Surprised Rolex and Omega didn't make the podium.

Love Cartier!
Love the Breitling Chronomat… best chronograph 👌🏻
What happened to Tudor? You created the Panda for crying out loud!
who wears their watch there its the wrong side of the wrist bone, also that santos bracelet was loose as on your wrist ?
Love my breitling superocean 57. Thin, vintage vibes for £2100 fully stickered in the sales. Seiko Longines and Omega are my other favorites
Omega, Seiko, Rolex (I know, not that original) for me
Just discovered your channel and subscribed as we apparently have similar taste. I managed to find a Tank Must XL in Paris a few years ago and it’s absolutely my favorite. My first luxury watch was a used Breitling Galactic 41 in blue and I’m happy to say I hope to keep it forever.

Longines for me. I have Tudor and Omega but always reach for my Longines selection
I loved the chronomat and had to have one. It’s definitely not an every day piece in my opinion though, as it is SUPER top heavy. Moved on from it pretty quickly, but I know that’s not an issue for you.
mod the seiko. don't be afraid. ;)
Haha point taken
Sounds like some great pics to me. 👍
Agree with the Breitling 100%. Should've been number 1 within this particular list.
You mean the most enjoyable watch brands you’ve ever flipped 😂
If you sold it then at one point you owned them….so yea…what’s your point?
I have flipped every brand lol nothing is off limits
No watch is going to look good with that puny wedding ring, you’ve got to get a better wedding band that is thicker, bigger and nicer
Bruce, i would love to see your review of the 43 Navitimer with the copper dial. Its stunning in person
Ill see if I can get one in for a video
I love the Cartier Santos but hate Roman numerals. I wish they made a version with baton indices.
Also, it's nice to hear someone talking about Cartier. A Tank Must Xl with an in-house calibre for $5k is super compelling. The Ballon Bleu is also achingly beautiful, though no one even knows what it is.
1. Breitling. 2. Sinn. 3. Omega
Should do another state of the collection video.
On the video list for this month!
Great! I'm always shocked and fascinated seeing how much your collection changes every year!
Some nice picks there, I certainly concur with Cartier as a choice, the quality is top notch and they have that x factor. I just wish I had a swath sophisticated profession so I could wear it every day.
For real. I am in jeans and t shirts every day which they work okay with but not very casual
Breitling and Seiko for me are an antidote to brands that play it safe to appeal to the masses but to me can feel boring..... Aerospace!!! 🛩️🖤🤍🖤🤍

seiko is terrible

Seiko is garbage. I am going to say this.. Anything other than their 8R movement is just weak and with a knock, the hairspring is out of shape.

Georges Kern has castrated the brand sadly.
Seikos don’t get judgement? People just think the opposite of someone wearing a Rolex - that you’re poor 😂
