    Surah Al-Ahzab (33:59):
"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful."

Grayson, you know how men look at woman
with lust, hijab is there to protect them.
It saves the marriage, and is modest.
Woman and man can't be friends...

      Regarding Quran 33:59, it states:
"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful."
This verse instructs believing women, including the wives and daughters of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), to wear outer garments (jalabib) when they go out in public. The purpose is to distinguish them as respectable women and to prevent any potential harm or harassment.
The tafsir (exegesis) of this verse elaborates on the importance of modesty in Islam, emphasizing the protection of women and the preservation of their dignity. It also reflects the broader Islamic principle of modesty (hijab) which extends beyond physical clothing to behavior and demeanor in interactions with others.

I am a Muslim woman, who goes to college, works, has a social life, does it all. But I do it all with trying to exercise the most amount of modesty possible Alhamdullah. The hijab is
    1. to make it known that we are Muslim women
    2. Cover our beauty, be modest
    3. Make people see us and respect and tolerate us for who we are not for our bodies.
For those who say that the hijab is oppression, so you are basically saying that a women’s freedom, her power, is only if she looks “sexy” or shows some skin to the public, so you are literally sexualizing all women. Isn’t that oppression?? That a women’s power in society comes only from her beauty or “sexy nature”? The hijab places us on a balanced playing field where we can show the world who we are as individuals, not objects to stare at.
I feel protected by my hijab, most men know not to “hit” on me, they know to respect themselves automatically from just seeing the hijab. They know I will not tolerate any advances and do not attempt. That is the power the hijab gives me.

Well said, May Allah bless you, sister. That's also how I feel with my hijab. How can I correlate hijab with oppression when it gives me so much freedom? For sure, I can't. The hijab not only guards me but also makes me happy when I remember it is the reflection of what Allah ordered on me.

As Christians we are not commanded to wear a hijab, but we can if we choose to. It does not affect our relationship with our God. Also in 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 - If you read the full chapter, you will see that it is talking about Gods order of authority.
Which is Christ - men and then woman. The 1st century customs were the woman's head covering and
this not for all times. If you keep reading the rest of the chapter and verses 15-16. The men are the covering of the woman and Christ is the covering of men. In verse 15 it says that the woman's long hair is her covering and verse 16 tells you this custom does not apply to the Chruch. The covering is talking about the authority in 1 Corinthians 11:2-16.
In a spiritual sense, Christ is the covering of men and men are the covering of the woman. The covering is talking about the authority and Paul summarizes that the physical covering does not apply to the Church in verse 16.
So, we don't need to wear the hijab as we have hair as our physical covering, and of course I don't have anything against the hijab if anyone wants to wear it but it's not a command for us.

    • @munamas6505
      @munamas6505 Месяц назад +3

Covering is a command. One cannot misinterpret God's commandments to suit our own whims and desires.
How can hair be a cover when it is part of our bodies? So those people who are bald are uncovered and immodest?

    • @AmeliaAlHayek
      @AmeliaAlHayek Месяц назад +1

@@munamas6505 I have already explained it within the short context. This is not my opinion, but it's based on thousands of years of Church history. St Paul was writing
to the Corinthian church and to a specific people of that time in order to make it clear on a few issues which were womans head coverings and also how to observe the Lord's Supper as one. This is what the whole Chapter is all about. It tells you that woman's hair is her glory, her beauty and that her hair is her covering in the physical sense. At the end it tells you that we do not need to wear the hijab as this custom does not apply to us.
So, for the woman who are bald, they can wear a hijab or not. If you wear one or not it does not affect your relationship with God. God looks what's in your heart and not if you wear a scarf or a hijab. This is our God who looks at more important things.

      @AmeliaAlHayek Месяц назад +1

@@munamas6505 I would have to disagree with you regarding Paul. Our Lord Jesus Christ chose him specifically for a reason. Paul before he was born again was a sinner and did many bad things. He was full of rage and anger but then his heart turned. Turned to love, acceptance, understanding, grace and humbleness. This is to show all mankind that even someone like Paul who did horrible things, even someone like him can turn from bad to good.
The law was never broken but was fulfilled and expanded on. Jesus Christ often spoke about the law and every time he did he said
''it has been said to you, but I say to you'' There is the old convent with the law for a specific time and group of people and we today are under the new covenant which is under grace. God's grace.
In Matthew 5:18 where Christ said - not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
This is specifically telling you that Christ mission must be completed, and the law must be kept till then. Christ in his humanity lived 33 years and had a mission. On the cross when he said ''It is Finished'' that's when he has accomplished it all. This is where the new covenant begins for all mankind and that we are not under the law but under God's grace.

Muslim women wear the hijab as an expression of their faith and modesty. It is a religious practice rooted in Quranic teachings and the tradition of Prophet Muhammad. The hijab is seen as a way to maintain personal and social boundaries, to preserve dignity, and to promote a sense of inner spirituality rather than focusing on outward appearance. It is a choice made by Muslim women to adhere to their religious beliefs and cultural practices.

Covering head is not only in Islam it's also in Christianity The Bible has multiple mentions of head covering in both the Old and New Testaments ¹ ² ³. In 1 Corinthians 11:6, it says, "For if a woman does not cover her head, let her also have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her head." You know that women are indeed
A beautiful and precious part of god's creation hijab protect women from lustful gaze if a women wear shorts clothes they think it is freedom but they don't know that how many men's watch them with full lustful gaze if a women cover her self it is sign of believing women if a women cover herself it protects them from unwanted attention and lustful gaze In Islam, women are encouraged to cover their head and hair as a sign of modesty, humility, and piety. The Quran and Hadith (Prophetic traditions) provide guidance on this aspect of Muslim women's dress. Here are some reasons why women in Islam cover their head:
    1. Modesty: Covering the head and hair is seen as a way to promote modesty and humility, discouraging attention to physical appearance.
    2. Privacy: Covering the hair and head creates a sense of privacy and separation from the public sphere.
    3. Spiritual focus: By covering their hair, women can focus on their inner spiritual development and reduce distractions.
    4. Respect and dignity: Head covering is a sign of respect for oneself, others, and God.
    5. Protection: In some interpretations, covering the head and hair is seen as protection from unwanted attention or harm.
    6. Obedience to God's command: Many Muslim women believe that covering their head is an act of obedience to God's command in the Quran (Surah An-Nur, 24:31).
    7. Identity and belonging: Wearing the hijab (headscarf) is a visible expression of Muslim identity and belonging to the Muslim community.

Its an outward representation of the purity and value of a woman. She covers parts of herself from every man except those who she gives the right to. Isn’t it funny how in Christianity, Mother Mary like you mentioned, and nuns are both seen wearing head coverings as a sign of purity and devotion to God, but when a Muslim woman does the same, it’s seem as extreme. People are just blinded by their own biases and it’s honestly truly laughable when you observe.

Simply put, it is a cover for a woman, meaning it keeps attention away from her, and by making her more comfortable in that she is not exposed to problems on the road or in the street, for example. Add to your information that in Islam, the hijab is obligatory, but it is not punishable in this world, and in Christianity, if a woman does not wear the hijab, it is preferable for her to shave her hair rather than remain without a covering on her head. As for comfort, we are more comfortable than being without it. At least I will not have to style my hair differently every time 😂

🔶 In Christianity, some women cover their heads during prayer and worship as a sign of modesty and respect, following biblical teachings in 1 Corinthians. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is often depicted with her head covered, serving as a model of piety. This practice, though less common today, remains a meaningful tradition for many Christian women.

There are verses in the Holy Quran that command women to cover their bodies and not reveal their private parts, including the head, chest, and feet, among others. Muslim scholars have interpreted these Quranic verses as referring to the attire known today as the hijab. The hijab must meet several conditions: it should not be transparent, tight, or short, and it should cover the entire body of the woman except for the face and hands. This is because Islam values and elevates women, ensuring they are not demeaned.

Islam is preserving the legacy of saint Maryam.
Allah said "And when the angels said: “O Maryam, Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you over the women of all the nations"
    Al-Imran 42
Why did Allah choose her to be so privileged? Because she was a modest woman!
She protected he chastity, so Allah made her carry prophet Eissa the blessed and privileged in her womb.
How cool is that? I mean guarding her chastity was her achievement.
We just forget that modesty is an achievement, a great one, Actually the greatest.
So it's a commandment not a preferred thing because in my opinion, God knows that women will neglect modesty over the years. We would clap for a singer or an actress but we wouldn't clap for a girl who tries her best to stay modest and covered in a world encourages her to do the exact opposite. Women should be focusing on showing their manners not looks.
We exist in societies ruled by men who by the way are ASKED TO WEAR MODESTLY TOO that want us to reveal ourselves, to show them how beautiful we are, like they just can open an app to see our bodies in all poses right?
They want it to be normalized, so they can do whatever they want with us without any guilt.
Men also are commanded to wear modestly that's why you see Pakistanis or Arabs wear thobe
