- Description Lister Diesel ST-1 With 4 kw Brush generator
This engine runs at 1800 rpm and is supposed to be very economical to operate, and it may be but I can tell you it is fairly pricey to overhaul especially when most of the parts have to be mailed in from the US .
I ran it for 3 hrs with a 2400 watt load and it used 2.5L (+/-) of fuel
It will last for many years now you have overhauled it!! well done
Great little engine
hola amigo tengo uno igual sabes de cuantos HP son esos motores..?
hey if you have any update please let us konw. I'm hoping to buy one.
I seldom use it, as it has the 50 cycle generator head ( for the United Kingdom?) and everything needs 60 cycle here in North America, other than that it’s fine. Only advice I can offer is that if I was to overhaul another Lister I would Source the parts from the UK. (As opposed to the place in Kansas ) .
@@North700 thanks for the reply. My requirement is to use it for about 2 hours everyday to generate electricity. Is it a good idea? Reliable wise... fuel economy wise (since it is a bit old engine)
@@shakyabandara4910 yes , very good engine, with proper maintenance will last decades
@@North700 any idea how much fuel it would use in one hour in its full capacity? ( if I use with total 4kW load)
@@shakyabandara4910 I don’t know for certain, my best estimate is 1liter /hr
That rascal needs a Honda Muffler.

When did "[m]uffler" become a name while I wasn't looking?
Nice. Dear, at what voltage does it run... 230 or 115?
110 but only 50htz
@@North700 How come it's only 50hz with the engine at 1800rpm?
@@North700 Has to be 60hz with the engine running at 1800rpm
It’s a European ( probably English ) generator head, didn’t know it when I acquired it but there is a distinction between North American and European equipment
@North700 Right I see. It'll output a high voltage but at 60hz perhaps, which may be less than ideal 😂
Hi. I have the same set at my place and think I need to replace the brushes in the generator. Have you had any experience on how to get them out and back in? Thanks. Regards Stephen
Hi , sorry I have not worked on the generator head yet, don't want to either LOL.
lol your right!
