Before you get her, you should probably watch some Dollfie Dream unboxings so you know what to expect. These types of dolls are sort of "build yourself" and all the accessories do come seperate, including the wig, and you'll have to assemble them yourself. Do not expect to open the box with the doll fully clothed with the wig attached to the head. The reason for this is to avoid color transfer between the various clothing and accessories. There is also maintenance you'll want to perform regularly in order to prevent things like paint transfer once you get all her clothes and accessories on, so make sure you've educated yourself if you decide to get this doll. You're entering a whole new world of collecting with this figure, and most owners of DDs will refer to them as their "daughters" due to the amount of care and love needed to take care of them. Enjoy!
@@Gamemaster-64 it’s the material lol well physics I guess. When you have anything tied on silicone/vinyl, the elements will transfer overtime. Resin materials doesn’t have this issue in general but soft materials do. Similar to human clothes, if you get a dark cloth, you better wash it before wearing. There was a time I got new cloth, the dye transferred to my finger which is not really visible, but transferred to a semi white doll. That’s why you wanna wear gloves. Human body warmth and grease are natural mediums for color transferring.
@@Gamemaster-64 it's not paint transfer its dye transfer. These are vinyl dolls and she is in all black. You can have the best quality ever and the dye if left long enough will seep into the vinyl.
Welcome to the money pit fellow WoL!! I never thought I’d be owning one of these dollfies until my fiancé preordered 2B for me 3 years ago. Then, I fell into this hole and completely quit any other hobby but xiv to work on these dolls. Never had I imagined that I would see this day (regardless the fact that… well I had hints that this day may come before). I even told my fiancé that we probably would be all triple legend before Volks would do a xiv doll!!! Also, you can switch anything if you don’t like these dolls. I make eyes myself so the first thing I’d do is to switch out her eyes just because I sculpted those of my previous Yshtola too! So enjoy! For those who POed. Let the wait begin and may you walk in the light of the crystal!
I hear you, mate, except in my case, it's Gunpla. But other than technicalities, both are basically Plastic Crack, and we're hopeless addicts. So to my fellow plamo/model/doll addicts, here's to you Guys (and Gals)!
Welcome to the Dollfie Dream or the BJD community Meoni! I currently have 13 Dollfie Dreams (most from the Fate franchise and even NieR's 2B). Even after just 5 years of collecting them, they are still breathtaking to look at and pose for photos! I have noticed Square-Enix is slowly easing up on being stingy with their Final Fantasy IP in terms of merchandise. Never did I imagine they would team up with VOLKS again (after 2B & 9S) to make Y'shtola the first FF Dollfie Dream (to my knowledge)! This could potentially open the door for more FF collaborations not just with Volks but other well known companies (Good Smile Company for FF nendoroids). This is great for fans that wanted more figure related merchandise other than PlayArts & BringArts. That being said, its fitting that Y'shtola will be my XIVth Dollfie Dream~
The morning after the announcement, I took a look and after some thought I bit the bullet and pre ordered it. I am excited and looking forward to it. Usually I do share the sentiments that dolls tend to look creepy. But compared to others I have seen I found Y’shtola to look downright adorable. If it wasn’t for PayPal’s six month no interest I wouldn’t have gotten her.
I purchased mine too! I was already going to get another Dollfie Dream for Christmas, but after this announcement I was like welp I still want a doll and I love ffxiv so two for one🎊 it’s also great cause you can change out her head and clothes and make her a whole new doll.
Y’Shtola kinda starts with the creep factor built in. I mean she’s blind but can ‘see’ thanks to aether currents, and she can verbally flay a man alive while looking perfectly sweet. If you don’t have a healthy fear of her you might as well change your name to ‘Little Sun’
"Dollfie Dream" dolls are cast in vinyl, not resin (if she was, the cost would be double) and 1/3 scale. I've been collecting DDs for 15+ years, and looking forward to Y'shtola joining the family. The doll will come assembled, but you do need to "dress her" (wig/outfit). If you plan on having her "on display", plan on buying a doll stand for her. The price (while expensive), is standard for most of the Volks DD releases. Take care... o/
Not a big enough YShtola fan to get this, but I'm definitely a fan of Dolfie/Volks in general. One of my favourite places in Tokyo is actually their showroom store just to browse. The price seems steep but the quality of their dolls really is top tier so if you like the character/design then it's absolutely worth it.
@@ladyamberskye deff not questioning the quality. It just doesn’t really look like her from the game. Buttt I’m not familiar with Dollfie at all so maybe this slight style alteration is part of their “thing”
This is a Ball Jointed Doll. They are hand made and cast in resin. Has a huge hobby base behind these BJDs. I've had some and they are cool as hell but do a little research on them before buying. Things like you're not supposed to leave them in sunlight as it will change the resin color etc.
Very expensive but if you do get one. They are a very unique doll experience. I really suggest looking into other dolls they have made if you dont own one already to know what and why they are so expensive.
I could never justify spending 1000 on a doll, nor do i have the knowledge to take care of one properly. Looking forward to when you get it though and show us!
She looks cool, I'd certainly get one since I don't have to worry about parents that wouldn't understand, but I don't want to wake up in the middle of the night and see that she has moved positions and/or locations.
People worried about her being anatomically correct like the typical Volks doll, the 2B one has Barbie anatomy despite being really busty. I don’t expect them to add those “details” for Y’shtola.
I agree that the doll is gorgeous and super well crafted, but that price is a lot. And it bothers me that the face doesn't look like Y'stola. The face shape looks like it would be Y'stola's younger sister instead. I mean, good for anyone that loves this character and has that kind of money to spend on a doll and has the space to store it properly. But jeez... I really wish Square would release more quality merch for more affordable prices.
I was on the fence on this at first, but when I realized I could cash out at profit -- why not? WHY NOT? We're going through inflation right now, buying collectibles that appreciate in value is like the best thing you can buy at the moment.
The wait for her to be made and arrive might kill me. I can't wait to add her to my vinyl doll collection. I did laugh a little when you said she's like a statue....not she's fully articulated, weapon will not be 3d printed if plastic it will be injection molded. If you have never had a doll like this you are going to lose your mind when she arrives.
So it bears only a passing similarity to Y'shtola could anyone explain why people are willing to pay $1000 for something that doesn't look like the character?
I hate it it doesn't look like Yshtola the wig looks cheap and also she's white I know exactly what they were trying to do the price is not worth it is way too expensive honestly

paint transfer? what? Why does that sound like it made cheap? Though the build yourself sounds fun.

It shouldn't be too difficult to assemble. You dress her, put her wig on like a hat (sorta) and pop the head on.
I would never thought of that! Even tho i dont want to get her, thanks for the Info! Nice when ppl with knowledge shares it :D

why is there 6 minutes of black screen at the end haha
