Hi you make great videos thank you 👍I have a question on coffered ceilings , we have a 9’ ceiling and an open stairwell in the middle of the main floor. My question is do you normally just build returns on crowns on either side of stairwell where wall ends to make one big open ended coffer or do you build a bulkhead around the open sides of the stairwell to butt into ? Please let me know your thoughts I cannot fine anything on the web on how to finish around an open stair case going up thru the ceiling. Did I say please , please 👍
@@rolfetimm1801 I’ve never run into that situation but I think I like the bulkhead around the open sides as long as that wouldn’t get into your head room coming down there stairs. Not that you’d have to pass an inspection on a house you already live in, but it could end up being a problem for resale. With a 9’ ft ceiling it shouldn’t be a problem but maybe hold up a board and see what it’s like walking down the stairs.
