  • Increasing foreign tourists are causing serious “overtourism” issues in Japan. A town in Yamanashi prefecture is going to block the view of Mt. Fuji, the world heritage to avoid dangerous acts by foreigners in taking photogenic pictures of it.

    I just came back from a tour trip in Japan. We had a Japanese guide who explained to us what we should not do, and the group tried it best to follow that advice. Though not everyone in our group had good manners.
    I really think that Japan needs to introduce a "how to behave in Japan" online exam, without which no visa will be provided.
    And perhaps even ban tourists that do not come as part of a tour. While our group visited the village shown in yours video, we did not stop at Lawson because it would be an inconvenience to locals.
