$1000 a square foot?!? For that price it should have solid gold appliances, toilet seats, and and elevator instead of steps! Sorry, but the ripoff factor that has taken over the 'tiny' house movement is just sad. Even with the exterior and the lake sitting right there, paying that much for less then 400 square feet is insanity, particularly with the bottom about to drop out of the market. We've built 940 square feet with two actual wood burning fireplaces, two bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen with a walk in pantry, an equal sized dining area, a gaming room, and a laundry room and spent less than $25,000.00 .... and it actually looks nicer with the finishing we did. In addition we have a one acre garden and small orchard, a fish pond, a full grill/earthen pizza oven/two burner brick cooking area outside on the deck, etc. All of it was built with that just under $25,000.00 (at post C lumber prices!). The only thing it doesn't have is brand new appliances since ours work just fine. Just because others can't build themselves is no reason to rob them blind!!!

I have no desire to live where it rains so much for a price per square foot that I could live on a beach for a bit less money.
