You're thinking of the Kawanishi N1K series of fighers. The Kawanisbi J6K never left the mockup stage, though I won't doubt that it probably also would have been fitted with a mercury switch.

The J6K and N1Ks always get overshadowed by the Ki 84s, but they're incredibly maneuverable, and if you can tolerate the low speed you can shred everything to pieces with those type 99s
It's a very dangerous plane with a ton of guns that have excellent ballistics. Yeah if I dodge the guns I can mostly slap him in Ta-152H. But I havr to dodge the guns first.

For your information M-geschoss should be pretty similar to Shvak or Ho-5 HE All of them are far from good from ballistic point of view. Type 99 is much better so it holds those 740m/s better. But the thing is, it overperforms anyway, every cannon without real life ballistic data overperforms actually.

My own experience playing the J6K1 a couple years ago was overall very good, though I always seemed to die to La-9s. Did some testing with a friend and the La-9 seems to rate fight better at lower alts, but beyond that I never fully understood why it kept happening.
Best event plane I ever got, no regrets in doing it. So far the only plane that got me 7 kills in a single Air RB match. Absolute monster, and quite the SL printer as well!

Okay, my very first Air RB experience with the J6K1: After 5 minutes of waiting I am finally in a full uptier against exclusively jets. Not a single enemy prop or super prop in in sight. Got a lucky hit on a Me-262 and the kill, got in a head on with another 262, crit him but could not dodge in time, game over for me.
Im afraid if you get more popular, the "average" war thunder AirRB player isnt gonna be your todays average player haha, all jokes aside thanks for all the videos DEFYN, you the real MVP of the grind struggle
Probably my most fav plane to play in all of War Thunder. Grinded out almost the entire Japanese tree with it (everything exept for jets). I have 2.63 K/D ratio with it, even though i don't even think im that good of a player (only plane i have a better ratio in is Spitfire F Ml.IXC, in which i have 5 kills for each death). I think i've even had a 6 kill game with it few times. In the right hands its deadly.
Oh, and i've almost forgot to point out that the J6K1 is an insanely good grinder, both for SL and RP. When i didn't have a premium account yet, i used it to grind SL, as i would go broke all the time and without playing J6K1 i wouldn't be able to buy new vehicles. As i've already said, i've grinded most of the Japanese tree with it, IN LESS THEN 200 MATCHES, WITHOUT A PREMIUM ACCOUNT. I just find it insane. Soviet air tree took me about 400 hours to grind out, Japanese tree just about 100, maybe even less, and all that thanks to J6K1.
I always wondered what your thoughts on this thing was, it's probably one of the most popular Japanese planes I face at 6.0 matchmaking. What do you think of the Yak-15P? I personally feel like they are the bane of the P-51H, but tbf that's mostly when the Mustang starts off in a worse position.
I am by no means as good as Defyn but I have 200 battles in the Yak-15p. You’re pretty much accurate with that, if the P-51h starts above the Yak-15p there is almost nothing the yak can do except try to fly in a straight line away, because the yak rips so early it can’t dive away effectively from almost anything(it rips at 750 kmh ias.) however if the yak starts above the p51 and the p51 doesn’t have any altitude to dive with, the p51 is likely going to have a bad time.
You should try the 3.3 p-51, the 4 hispanos with high explosive rounds 1-2 taps everything. It is incredibly fun and surprisingly good for an allison engine mustang.
Ik this has nothing to do with the vid but hear me out- the Agm-65 is the best middle for stallfights. When the enemy is slow you can launch one and counter measures are useless. Also it fun.
Bit of Google. There's a chart/table out there somewhere on the Internet or buried in the gaijin forums. Tbh tho most of them are roughly in the same ballpark and you aren't losing much if you're only a little off. I tend to climb at ~135kts indicated. Optimal climb speed for most props is within 10 or so of that which is close enough for me. Saves me from having to Google before every match or memorise the optimal climb speed of like 20 different planes
I got this plane from.the snowman during the Christmas event. The two matches I played I found it so easy to get at least 1 kill. (I was playing like a dumbass with my friends)

Head-ons are a nightmare, even with nose-mounted guns like Bf or Fw. I'm not completely terrible, I'm not always the first to die, but I am not even sure right now wether or not I have a positive K/D in air battles.
% as in? The best way to climb is by speed, not angle or anything else. The best climb rate for everything is going to be different. A general rule of thumb I use is for aircraft with a top speed of sub 350mph I climb at 160-170mph IAS. For aircraft from 350-400 I climb at 170-180mph IAS. For 400+ I climb at 180-190mph IAS.
the j6k is really good but the only plane that i know can be So maneuverable is A6M6C , which is really good and i've grinded the japan tech tree to rank 3 or so , But this plane is really better at anything it does

That’s pretty cool! A lot of planes in WT have special flap designs which just aren’t modeled in game unfortunately
That's very cool, but I honestly think that an auto-flap system could be somewhat of a pain occasionally.

This aircraft has an interesting inversion in that the MGs run out of ammunition a lot sooner than the cannons.

Defyn, please try the Spitfire LF Mk IX in the british tech tree, spaded, its way too op (apart from the fact it faces mostly Ju-288s)
He doesnt need to, the Israeli version and the American version are the same, the only difference is the match it faces.
Only if the Yak-3U is also OP. Just force the fight up high with the LF Mk IX, where it doesn't make use of the 150 octane fuel.
