I really like it when you read out the quotes because it really feels you genuinely love and respect words. You really take time to appreciate them and see what they mean. Lowkey want you to do an audiobook or smth cos I feel you’d do justice to a book by reading it aloud ☺️
This is perfect timing. Im dr on duty in covid ward. Today is the greatest festival of india. Diwali. A day of hope and joy and everything that is good. And a patient died in front of me. We did everything we could but their gentle soul just leave this realm and i hope they goes to a Better place. You can feel the soul just leaving the body when you work so close. It was heartbreaking The news that i had to deliver to their family who also admitted in another covid ward. They didn't get to say goodbye. Im not okay. Please wear mask If not for yourself than for others. I don't want to cry for every soul that die due to cough and cold.no one deserve that. Thank u emma . I think this video is much needed today. Im greatful that you exist. Even not in close proximity but still. I really appreciate you.
I’m about to wrap up my first reading vlog but I suddenly felt like I’m losing motivation. This video popped and suddenly I have the will to finish my video. 🥺 Thank you and nice hair, Emma.
*emmie* on a Monday morning. What a great way to start the work week as I sit at my desk....working. I love watching...or is it experiencing...your vids during this time.
Thank you Emma for this amazing vlog! (Also woah 2 in a row omg!) I can’t wait to pick up my book and start reading! I just wanted to comment to say thank you. You inspire me so much and I have been trying to read consistently ever since I started watching your vlogs 🥺💕. Your vlogs help me to calm down and always lift my spirits, thank you!
I purchased 'Bluets' this morning after seeing your recomendation. In the bookshop here in Melbourne, Australia. The paperback was $32.00, but the hardback was $22.00. Odd.
@@emmiereads thank you! If there’s a particular french edition of Le fantôme de l’Opéra that you would like to own please tell me, I live in France and as soon as the book shops open again I’ll be glad to send it to you!
again, glad the book made its way to you safely!❤️ I am also budy-reading a book with my friend and there is nothing like it. sharing the pure joy with someone, who absolutely understands your obsession with the book (it’s a reread for both of us) is something everyone should know.
@@emmiereads we’re reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by She who must not be named because she’s transphobic - which also happens to be one of my top 5 favourite books of all time. This is my fourth reread, so I obviously LOVE it. It’s also kind of a guilty pleasure book tbh.
Wow! The walk in the woods by the river was so beautiful - it looks like it should be from a historical movie where life feels frozen in time 😍 And yes, you SO match the cover of that book - it sounds fascinating!
Reminding me of those Tim Hortons gingerbread cookies when I don't currently have access to them...... truly an act of emotional warfare. I loved them so much!!!!!!
1:13 I am so jealous of this moment but so glad I could see this in a vlog. That sounds kind of odd, but I grew up with woods in my backyard and MISS it and the change of seasons so much!! 10:05 I think that's a picture of Louise Brooks on the cover. (She was a silent film star.)
HI Emmie. Thx for the update. Yes, quotes gain substance when they're presented within their original context. The more the audience has to twist something to find a useful meaning, the farther they are from the writer's intention IMO. Personally, I tend to twist, so context is always helpful. I twist so much that probably I use more relational pronouns and conjunctions than nouns and verbs.
I really appreciate your analysis/closer reading of The Turn of the Screw because I listened to the audiobook in a rush earlier this year and really did nooooot enjoy it at all, but your reflections are helping me see more of what I missed!
You’re videos are always such a delight ❤️ Also I was wondering what your thoughts are on the Beat Generation? I’ve never heard you talk about them and I’d love to hear your thoughts of you have read them :)
Hey Emma !! :) Have you already done a recommendation video about Greek mythology retellings ??? I know you've read Lovely War, Prometheus Unbound, Autobiography of red... what's more ??? I need greek mythology retellings in my life !!!!
Cosy vlog 🌸 I love this ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧ it would be interesting to analyse the turn of the screw more deeply because as you pointed out its got some intriguing layers to it however I still believe it was a bit abrupt in terms of the ending 🙈 looking forward to your thoughts. Have an amazing day Emma 🦉
Love your videos sm! I've been taking a notes 😉, and I noticed you deactivated your Twitter acct? Also are you sure you aren't the reincarnation of Rilke? 😂
Ahh thank you! and ooh yeah I barely ever used it🤷🏻♀️ - that is the nicest thought, however I’ve yet to produce any masterpieces of the century so it’s probably not me😂
That's exactly what I asked in my comment!! I really want to learn it on the piano!!! Although I'm so bad at piano lol and it's definitely too complicated for me

Yes, Spekulatius are very typical Christmas sweets/cookies in Germany! I don't know if they were invented here but they're definitely very popular!
ugh they're so good, I love dipping them in tea and hot chocolate!!
They are Dutch/Belgian
The ending music was like a cherry on a sundae. Your videos are very enlightening.
