For those wondering about why the Change Foot Combination Spin at 3:25 was invalidated, I quote relevant excerpts of the Technical Panel Handbook for Single Skating 2023/24.
---
Spin combinations: Must include a minimum of two different basic positions with 2 revolutions in each of these positions anywhere within the spin
There are 3 basic positions:
− Camel (free leg backwards with the knee higher than the hip level, however Layback, Biellmann and similar variations are still considered as upright spins)
− Sit (the upper part of the skating leg at least parallel to the ice)
− Upright (any position with skating leg extended or slightly bent which is not a camel position)
In Free Skating a clear visible attempt of a spin combination which results in a spin with only 1 basic position with not less than 2 revolutions will be called by the Technical Panel as a spin combination “no value”.
---
The sit position was likely deemed not to satisfy 2 revolutions, note that only the part where the upper part of the skating leg is at least parallel to the ice counts.
The camel position was not held for 2 revolutions.
The upright position was fine and did include at least 2 revolutions.
So if there was only one basic position that was held included at least 2 revolutions, the spin combination would be called by the Technical Panel as having no value.
Great skate, great fight after the SP! Good luck in the rest of the season!
