Absolutely incredible! Spend last February there , saw the incredible temples and works. This is why I luv Thailand , this attention to detail at every inch of these locations is pure dedication. It’s a special area , the north is equal in beauty as the south . Hard to just be grounded in one location , can’t wait to return . Thanks for the memories!
Thanks Greeny for taking us along! I have been to the Main White Temple but now you show the other white one behind hospital & I agree I think it looks even better. Would also like to go to that tea plantation! Thanks
Great video Greeny! I think this was your best video ever! I have been following you since you started your you tube channel. The temples are amazing. Especially the blue and white temples. Your girlfriend is a sweetheart. She is definitely a keeper.
Way better video than the video clips I took when I visited 4 of the 5. I haven’t been to the first temple in the video but the others at different times. I visited the Blue Temple during the daytime and the night video with the lights it has a different look. Super video 👍🏼
Nice video. The vibration from the bells reminds me of the videos I have seen of the West destroying thousands of bells, it is said to stop people from feeling the vibration and it's healing and awakening properties. Who knows. Northern Thailand looks like a wonderful visit, on my bucket list. Happy holidays.
For a tourist in Chiang Rai, you can still see all of these sites and more in 2 days. It's going to cost you a little, but it's worth it especially if you may never come back to the region. I stayed right downtown Chiang Rai near the famous clock tower roundabout. My hotel hooked me up with a private tour company that picked me up at 8AM the next day and drove me to White Temple first to beat the crowds, Blue Temple, Wat Huay Pla Kang, Black House artist estate, and I did the Hilltribe Village. That day ride probably cost me $70, but I liked the driver so much, I requested him a 2nd day. The next day I went to the Myanmar border near Mai Sai, the tea plantation, Tham Luang Cave (where the soccer kids were trapped), and to the Golden Triangle, all in a nice airconditioned SUV. All in I probably overpaid, but I gave that driver about $150 for two 8-hour days of driving my ass around. I even had him pick me up on my last day and take me to the airport for an extra 1,000 baht tip. Living there, I wouldn't be throwing money around like that though, but as a tourist, just spend the damn money!
Great video. The Blue & White Temples are simply magnificent. When I head up North I always like to visit the Mae Kachan Hot Spring between Chang Mai & Chang Rai too. Happy Christmas to you and your girlfriend 🎄
the only place I didn't go was the temple on the hill at the beginning of the video. at the elevator on the ground level before you go up into the statue, before they would have like 3 or 4 girls chant a mantra or something as your elevator closes. I unless they have done away with that and only has a guy to greed you before the elevator door closes.... did you also go check out the infamous golden triangle?
Only thing with these jungle mountain roads you seldom get a view just miles of a green tunnel on either side. Viewponts are rare. Something to be aware on.
Behind you when you enter the actual White Temple after walking the catwalk, if you look on the wall you'll see a painting of the World Trade Center towers on fire, with 2 giant serpents coiling around them. The front of the Temple is all war, death, and destruction, and as you pass through, the paintings are of buddha and enlightenment. The entire catwalk is the journey of life. The hands reaching up represent those trying to pull you down with them into hell, and you can see fire symbols on the catwalk. It's not considered a real temple, but many people view it as a spiritual cleanse walking from the hands portion (where the two guard statues point at you), to other side. It's considered bad luck to stop on the way. Fun fact... (one of the hands is Freddy Krueger, and one has Wolverine claws).
Great video of Chiang Rai. I will have to visit the Temple up in the mountains. Our house is an hour south in Chun. I'm still interested in finding a real estate agent to help me find a condo in Chon Buri. I don't think I can handle being in Chun for the burning season. Can you resend your email? In regards to the LTV, my wife and I file our income taxes jointly. If that is over $80,000 would that qualify me for this visa? Thanks!
Great time of year to be there, before burn season begins. Nice work on the vid
Breathtaking video, Greeny! There is no need for comments. Thanks for taking me on holiday with you!
