It worked wonders for me this summer. I had summer assignments for the first time and I agreed to buy myself something I’ve been wanting after all my essays were done and I immediately got right to writing. Most people matured at that point and a lot of people try to keep to themselves cus they worried about graduating or just don't care tbh. HI i’m a freshman too and on the same boat!! i’ve never done sports at ALL and i’m only considering it this year i wanted to do volleyball but i dislike most of the girls on the volleyball team and i know i won’t get along with most or any of them so i’m not doing volleyball. if ur super duper worried ab taking sports i would say get a friend or two to brush up on an easy sport w you and then try out together! it’s always better to try out with a friend but if you don’t have any friends to go with just show up to the tryouts, see who’s trying out and decide from there if u rly wanna join the team or not anyway MOVING ON FROM SPORTS… for extracurriculars i am yet again on the same boat as u. i was super into artsy stuff like drawing and painting pre covid but i kinda lost all my interests and passions, so im making new ones. first order of business is to look for clubs that u can by default fit into. like for example for me, im a muslim and therefore im joining the muslim association @ my school bc i can make friends there by default!! i’ll also be joining south asian nation bc surprise i am also south asian - maybe u don’t have any interests or passions and that’s ok, judt start with a baseline of who u sre (religion, race, ethnicity, values, beliefs, etc) and go from there i also recommend checking out clubs even if they sound like the last thing u wanna do (don’t take this literally don’t join something ur not going to enjoy) since it’s freshman year we’re still getting a feel around for the school so go show up to those tryouts on the first day go to that fashion club meeting just bc it sounds fun. everyone always emphasizes to focus on something ur passionate ab but we’re only in our first year of highschool and it’s hard to focus on something ur passionate ab when u don’t even know what ur passion is. plus passions can very much change throughout the year maybe u like to bake now and by the end of the year ur anti baking and super into crocheting!! rly judt be open to doing anything with anyone bc it helps a lot. if u have a best friend or someone ur incredibly close to try getting those ppl to join with u or check out clubs with u! if not do u have like hallway friends or class friends that u only talk to in class and don’t rly talk to outside of school .?)) u should sdk them if they’re in any clubs and maybe go check out their clubs or ask them if they want to join a club with u (that’s what i did) so far i’ve only checked out newspaper club and lowkey had mixed feelings ab it, im obviously gojng to chdck out a loottt of other clubs bc my school has A LOTTT to offer like im talking over 50 clubs rly my advice is just to stay open and be open for change. maybe u hate sports rn but will be a professional basketball player by the end of the schoolyear idk. be ready for change!!
I definitely suggest you sign up for student council since it’s a way to get to know more students and you get some volunteer hours from that as well! If you have any special interests/hobbies in something then try to find a club in your school that includes that hobby or interest! I’m not sure how you’re school works but for me my school has a website with a specific page that includes all the sports/actives/clubs with descriptions for each of them.
I know I'm late, but as others have stated, if you do decide to join a sport, JOIN WITH A FRIEND!! I personally joined track a few weeks ago and it's actually torture. In fact I probably would've quit by now if I didn't have friends join as well. Because while the sport itself may suck, at least you have your friends to complain with. And I have had so much fun hanging out with them that it makes this sport that kinda sucks really fun! :)

As a senior dropout trust me guys nobody cares who you are nobody really bullies, everyone is worried about themselves you will make friends if you’re open what you like, don’t mess around too much and end up like me I recommend trying your best even through your hardest moments to graduate.

I'm a junior and freshamn and sophomore year is not that bad 😭 don't be scared you will make it out just do your work,don't look for drama,ppl are fake in highschool so don't trust everyone in highschool and as long as you do your thing and go back home you will survive. I was scared too but it was not bad and I made some nice friends so they also helped make my school year better and it goes fast toward the end
I dated someone for the VERY first time in HS my 9th grd year 😭 we broke up within like 7-8 months (over the summer) then we had a class tg the nxt year 😭😂 which was very uncomfortable at times (I can’t lie) ,but I got through my sophomore year and by the end of my junior year I started talking to someone else. We got tg over the summer & now he’s my bf and we’ve been tg for a year (on the 28th) we even had a class tg so honestly the rls advice rly just depends on how you are as a person 😭 don’t get me wrong tho sometimes it can get a little heated when evb knows u date 😅 (like ppl assume things 😭) but for the most part ppl minded their business (to my knowledge) mainly bc we didn’t give them nothing to talk abt- make sure you & your partner keep things between y’all- best way to keep things from getting messy
see my middle school year 7th grade i was w groups of ppl i was cool with everyone and this one girl didnt like thsat so her and her friends wanted to fight me without even knowing me long story short they jumped me in gym n ever since ive been tryna keep away from groups and being cool with everyone plus ima be a freshman this yr its scary and the high school im going to has a whole bunch of jealous girls that don't want to learn nothing ( i know that bc ive been at that school before and seen how the kids are )

Heyyy, im an incoming high school freshman! I was wondering what should I do for extra curriculars since I’m not a sports person like at all? People are telling me sports this, sports that but everything I try I’m horrible at or I js don’t like it. Someone help I’m so lost😭
HI i’m a freshman too and on the same boat!! i’ve never done sports at ALL and i’m only considering it this year
i wanted to do volleyball but i dislike most of the girls on the volleyball team and i know i won’t get along with most or any of them so i’m not doing volleyball. if ur super duper worried ab taking sports i would say get a friend or two to brush up on an easy sport w you and then try out together! it’s always better to try out with a friend but if you don’t have any friends to go with just show up to the tryouts, see who’s trying out and decide from there if u rly wanna join the team or not
anyway MOVING ON FROM SPORTS… for extracurriculars i am yet again on the same boat as u. i was super into artsy stuff like drawing and painting pre covid but i kinda lost all my interests and passions, so im making new ones. first order of business is to look for clubs that u can by default fit into. like for example for me, im a muslim and therefore im joining the muslim association @ my school bc i can make friends there by default!! i’ll also be joining south asian nation bc surprise i am also south asian - maybe u don’t have any interests or passions and that’s ok, judt start with a baseline of who u sre (religion, race, ethnicity, values, beliefs, etc) and go from there
i also recommend checking out clubs even if they sound like the last thing u wanna do (don’t take this literally don’t join something ur not going to enjoy) since it’s freshman year we’re still getting a feel around for the school so go show up to those tryouts on the first day go to that fashion club meeting just bc it sounds fun. everyone always emphasizes to focus on something ur passionate ab but we’re only in our first year of highschool and it’s hard to focus on something ur passionate ab when u don’t even know what ur passion is. plus passions can very much change throughout the year maybe u like to bake now and by the end of the year ur anti baking and super into crocheting!! rly judt be open to doing anything with anyone bc it helps a lot. if u have a best friend or someone ur incredibly close to try getting those ppl to join with u or check out clubs with u! if not do u have like hallway friends or class friends that u only talk to in class and don’t rly talk to outside of school .?)) u should sdk them if they’re in any clubs and maybe go check out their clubs or ask them if they want to join a club with u (that’s what i did)
so far i’ve only checked out newspaper club and lowkey had mixed feelings ab it, im obviously gojng to chdck out a loottt of other clubs bc my school has A LOTTT to offer like im talking over 50 clubs
rly my advice is just to stay open and be open for change. maybe u hate sports rn but will be a professional basketball player by the end of the schoolyear idk. be ready for change!!

I definitely suggest you sign up for student council since it’s a way to get to know more students and you get some volunteer hours from that as well! If you have any special interests/hobbies in something then try to find a club in your school that includes that hobby or interest! I’m not sure how you’re school works but for me my school has a website with a specific page that includes all the sports/actives/clubs with descriptions for each of them.
I know I'm late, but as others have stated, if you do decide to join a sport, JOIN WITH A FRIEND!! I personally joined track a few weeks ago and it's actually torture. In fact I probably would've quit by now if I didn't have friends join as well. Because while the sport itself may suck, at least you have your friends to complain with. And I have had so much fun hanging out with them that it makes this sport that kinda sucks really fun! :)
