Made about 120 dollars an hour if I calculated correctly. But that is assuming he doesn't have to deadhead back.
Correct my math if I am wrong.
    Prob gets 10 mpg. 287 mile trip /10 mpg = 28.7 Gallons
    28.7 Gallons x $3.50 = $100.45 in fuel
Estimated $50 dollars for maintenance for trip
    750 profit - 150 for expenses = $600 take home
    @ 60 mph / 287 miles = 4.8 hours driving rounded to 5 hours
    600 / 5 hours = $120 an hour.
If you deadhead back cut that in half to $60 an hour.
This doesn't account for medical insurance, loans, 401k, taxes, etc. Considering hauling is one of the most dangerous jobs in world. You don't have static times you get home, and you're always fighting to find your next load? I have tremendous respect for haulers, but it definitely is not for me.
At the end of the day, You're probably making around 30 dollars an hour? Again, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Establish an LLC, get insurance, get your DOT number, Buy a truck, buy a trailer, subscribe to a load board that posts loads based on your set up, then go broke and drive big rigs instead
