It’s like ABBA went out for a coffee, came back in and picked up like that was 1 hour ago, not 40 years. The craftsmanship is unique. Talent plus daily music making from the guys. They really love making music. What they are able to do is difficult. If it sounds easy, perky, it’s the opposite. The traditional Swedish folk music and instruments are beautifully melancholic and that’s something that has left profound traces in lots of Swedish pop music. Their album will obviously top the charts. My favourite is probably The eagle.
One more Eagle-fan here. It's ABBAs most hidden gem, such an amaizing song. Just close your eyes, listen and you feel like flying high, high...No drugs needed.
I grew up with Abba, and felt almost betrayed when they quit. When they announced two songs a couple of years ago (my daughter broke the news) and they never came... I was disappointed. I am a Swede but I sort of missed that they were doing a whole album and an abbatar show. Today I found myself crying my eyes out over Don't shut me down. For several reasons. I cry over the lyrics as most of the "later" (these are even later...) Abba songs do. I cry because my husband is not here to hear it. I cry about the sadness of ageing. And I cry a bit like Emma Thompson's Elinor when she finally realises she was never betrayed by Edward Ferrars.
When they talk about Music changing the world, that kind of momentum can ONLY come from music artists (like ABBA) who have moved us in our lifetimes. Generally, the appeal from the public to the successful music artists is an acceptance from the public that they recognise music creativity they truly love, because as I have said in an earlier post: MUSIC IS TRULY an ARTISTIC ARTFORM that is created and formed by the musician and sound productions in ALL artistic forms of this natural music creativity. The problem with a lot of successful music artists/groups TODAY, is that they generally forget about the music creation of the past, to try to fit in with today's marketplace, GENERALLY to survive as music artists. This type of direction may not necessarily be coming from music artists themselves but by their management and record label. Fitting in today's music marketplace, may not be where their best music expression is found but is found in the expression of the music they were realising in the past. Just like Duran Duran have shown very recently with their new singles and album. YES..ABBA have certainly given the world what they needed, considering ALL THE BULL***T that is happening at this very moment in the world. ALL the world can do is truly Thank AbbA for their music, especially at this very moment in time.
Both songs are great in my opinion but this one is a winner for me, classic ABBA, disco beats, orchestral sweeps and the subtle musical tags that are 100% ABBA. 40 years on and they are still able to produce such a wonderful experience for their fans, just incredible. Can't wait for the rest of the album, I'll be very surprised if it doesn't top the charts. 10/10 from me.

I agree, this is the one that convinced me we were dealing with ABBA proper. I was born in '74 (the year of their international Eurovision breakthrough) so am old enough to remember their later releases first time around, and ABBA's classics are among my earliest memories of songs being played on the radio. It's very moving to this 47 year old middle aged guy. ABBA in their prime - as I remember them as a small boy - were absolute superstars and having them back and actually still able to write songs that can mix it with their original material is everything and very inspiring.
@@BardOfAndromeda I was born in 1968 so like you I remember them first time around. I remember the teenage daughter of our next door neighbour playing Dancing Queen over and over all weekend till we nearly went mad. At school I remember the girls having ABBA t-shirts and school bags while many of the boys preferred KISS. Sadly I was still only 9 years old when they performed a concert in a nearby city so I was really too young to attend. Great memories of fabulous music, so happy they're back even for just a brief time. 😊
Hmm. Neither would make a favourites comp for me. The other one is just too 80s stadium lighters aloft and this one's too ordinary. The verse tune's okay and the lyric's great but the chorus makes me think of something as inconsequential as an early 80s Bucks Fizz B-side. Great to hear them again though, just hoping that the other tracks tap into their previous genius.
ABBA are back and their genius continues. Who else could have a 40 year hiatus then come back together and the magic is still there with fresh music which sounds like an instant classic. They are truly amazing.
ABBA came back just when we needed them. I love this song. It is so ABBA. I am glad they didn't detract from their original sound. Takes me back to my youth! Oh how wonderful it is to have this distraction from the world, forget about everything and just immerse yourself in the music.
I absolutely agree with you. Successful music artists are always told by Managers and other industry people that, they should always update their sound and music genres to survive in popular music, when in actual fact...This can sometimes be a mistake. Artists on the Motown label, artists from the 1960s and 1970's lost a special sound of expression because MAINLY orchestral instrumentation was too costly, but all this innovation of orchestra is to be found in modern digital instruments now, so there really should be no excuse for classic artists from the past, not to continue with an orchestral sound, that has always been successful in their music careers. And if you need proof of that fact...you just have to listen to both of these new songs by Abba.
The swedish academy gave the Nobel prize to Bob Dylan a couple of years ago. They should give it to Björn now. This is a lyrical masterpiece with layers upon layers of references that can be interpreted in many different ways. Especially with them returning as avatars.
Polar price, not Nobel price :) Björn mainly do the lyrics, Benny the music in general. The girls the singing. Sum Why now give the whole group the Polar price while they all 4 live?
I have corresponded with Björn and have met Benny. I love all the membres, but I really think Björn as a lyricist doesn’t get talked about enough. His lyrics on “the visitors” or “soldiers” and storytelling like “TDBYC” is amazing. Plus his and Benny’s work on Kristina.
I haven't thought about ABBA for ages, but I can't get enough of this song. I cried, I had goosebumps, it's just so beautiful and I love how they add more background vocals as the song goes on.
This song is definitely a winner for me, this is classic Abba with a modern sound! They are not desperate to chase trends, just making good music and meaningful songs which makes you feel good!
I love to see how this really young man is enjoying this song. It really makes me happy that ABBA is not only for the "old ones". And I 100 percent agree with his judgement. Björn and Benny are simply genius! This beamed me back into the 80s. And despite of that you can hear this song 40 years later and it does its job aswell.
And that's where Abba's magic kicks in...they captured young and old then, and they do now...40 years later. My 10 yr old daughter LOVES Abba, and we're both so happy Abba have returned at a time the world needs them most.
Wow. I'm 56 but listening to this song, feel like I'm 12 again. They're as still as good as they ever were. I love it, so good! Love the other song too. Thanks for the reaction, great job.
I’am 61 glad to se that iam still young in hart. Abba members is older than me but they still makes young peoples feel something thats been missing in music for many years, love longing and hope .
I'am 53 ,abba Fan since i was 6 or 8 years old. My holy goodness ,bye bye corona Virus,Welcome the fab 4 from sweden ,we are safe now. Abba saved this Planet with these two New Songs. Brilliant, amazing work guys!!
Thanks for the ABBA. Benny said he wasn't competing with new music, he doesn't know how and doesn't understand it. I look at the first song as a bittersweet song about the old days and wondering if they still had it. Then in this song it starts slow with Agnetha asking us to give her a chance, then it drops and they prove they still got their sound. It slows again at the end kinda like asking is this good enough? We're not gonna change our sound, this is it and we like it. Also if you know the ABBA story you catch the inside story stuff going on in both sets of lyrics. Both songs are brilliant. Both are pure ABBA. Fan's will/are happy. The question is will younger people go for it. Music at this level is very rare today. I'm amazed that Agnetha's voice still has so much punch, she's in her 70's. Must be something in that Swedish water and never buying into the R&R life.
In “I Still Have Faith In You”, Frida is the vocalist and her voice is still as powerful and rich as ever. I’ve always believed that Frida was criminally underrated and was under appreciated by ABBA fans. I never understood that. But, some some reason, blondes are always worshipped. 🙄🙄
'Benny said he wasn't competing with new music, he doesn't know how and doesn't understand it.' I was very moved as he said that in the interview. He mentioned one artist by name and I thought to myself 'Benny does not understand it because in most cases current music does not leverage classical music structure and is very simplistic in nature. Current lyrics generally reflect schooling (lack of) and poor world experiences necessary to tell a story with a level of sophistication ABBA incorporates in their songs'. Simply said: many of the current artists are lightweights.
@@Beachgirl1 I know what you are saying, I really meant no disrespect to Frida or her lead song. Agnetha would not have done that song as well and both are great. That's really the power of them working together in ABBA. The guy's say they never have either girl in mind when writing. But both these songs were write for each girl. I liked when Bjorn went on and talked up how good the girls were to work with. You just give them the song and they deliver. Benny said as soon as they sang out came that sound I didn't do anything to it.
@@Flatwoodsdad I agree:) Actually, I wasn’t thinking when I posted to you because I posted under Agnetha’s song. That’s what I get for posting in a hurry, lol. My bad. You are spot on. Both women still have it. Even with their voices an octave lower, they are still incredible. I was eleven years old when they split and ABBA was an important part of my childhood. I admit to crying when I hear “I Still Have Faith In You”. I have been seriously depressed lately because of all the terrible events taking place in the world. ABBA’s comeback is a miracle that this world needed and I’m grateful to them. In some way, I feel like part of my childhood has returned. 😁
Thankyou Joe Danceing Queen or King Aka 2021 the feel good vibes throughout this production is amazingly ABBA at there best 🙌 The voices are supremely beautiful and the harmonies in the chorus just magical 10/10 for me and welcome back ABBA your triumphant return is what wee all needed 👍
It sure is wonderful to hear strings, real instruments and not the same repetitive drum sounds that sound like fingers snapping all the time. Thank you Abba, along with other artists, for bringing back music with the way it was intended.....with REAL instruments and not a casio keyboard.
Man I'm a mess and need to blow my nose and wipe the tears from my eyes every time I hear this song! The multi-layered beauty of Agnetha's voice, the strings, the timpaniies and the perfect musicality and if course - the nostalgia - is simply euphoric.
I think what you said about this track is the thing that exactly makes this track TOTALLY UNIQUE to ANY OTHER MUSIC TRACK that enters into the Top 40 British Music Charts.. The true difference is the listener truly is Euphoric with pleasure when they hear this track. You just know the character of the whole room that you are listening to these recent ABBA tracks has completely changed when you are listening. There is a lot of good music out there, but very rarely does music truly move the listener in the way all of these NEW ABBA TRACKS have done this year. In the year of 2021.
Besides the fact that this beautiful, timeless song is an upcoming classic - I'm a studied opera singer in my profession and i know a little bit about singing and the human voice. I was really impressed about the beautiful aged voice of Agnetha. She's 71 years old but her voice is still very youthful and well preserved.
@Rowan Adams , absolutely. Often get voices in age an old, raspy sound and holden notes a wobble. Agnetha sounds still youthful and seems not to have loose her range. It's wonderful at all.
@@Beachgirl1 , but this is Agnetha´s song. Frida´s voice in "I Still Have Faith in you" is audibly more matured but also still in shape and well aged. Both harmonizing after all the years still amazingly. I don't want to offend anyones feelings- Agnetha is a little bit more impressive because it's the higher voice and they are normally more beaten by aging.
@Nick Emerson Thank you for this comment. I heard that there were slightly off-key notes in I still have faith in you and the voices didn't match perfectly and I was wondering why they didn't record more takes. It was clear it wasn't pitch-corrected.
I remember a few years ago when I went to a Queen concert. I saw an interview with Robert Taylor who was upset that a (rock) music critic had written that the harmonies were too good to be for real. Would that same critic have said that the harmonies of Eric Ericsons Chamber Choir were too good to be true? Musicality and rehearsal works wonders. (And worked for hundreds of years before autotune.)
A.B.B.A are back... 😎👌🇸🇪 Never thought we'd hear the geniuses of pop 🎶 again.. One very happy 57 year old 👴 😭😭😭 ' no equal then and no equal now' Stay safe 🏡 Tim Leicester
ABBA created its own genre. Their music is not really pop, rock, jazz, classical, blues, folk, etc., but an amalgamation of everything, but still unusual and unique in that it doesn’t sound like anything on the radio, past or present. They are in their own category.
THIS IS FOR SURE A 10. ABBA'S ABOUT TO MAKE MUSIC HISTORY AGAIN AGAIN. NEW ABBA ALBUM OUT ON NOVEMBER 5, 2021. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE MUSIC ABBA, RESPECT🤩🤩🤩🤩
It just gets better as the song goes and when the chorus kicks in.. wow. And when you listen over again, it keeps better and better until it gets so addicting.. Nice reviews too, Joe. Thanks
This song is really as Good as Pop Music is supposed to get. We are living in a day and age that with all the technical innovation of electronic music instruments and innovations of recording production, there are hardly ANY such Pop tracks out there that TRULY overwhelm you with natural human emotion such as this Abba track. Abba's comeback 40 years later has given a great boot up the ass, to all pop musicians in the world, of how you truly create a pop classic in the 21st Century.
Enjoyed your polished, erudite and low key but enthusiastic reaction. I’m in hysterics with some of the other very emotional- and enjoyable -.reactions. ABBA have done something very generous and life enhancing for their fans and the world at this moment in time.
OOOOHHH This song is brilliant. They seem to be asking to be accepted in their new form and yet they are saying something universal about the human spirit.
Please please don't be offended anyone ,but I grew up with ABBA I was 14yo in 1974 when I heard Waterloo and fell in love with their music and listened to nothing else they are the soundtrack of my life I was devastated when they stopped in 1982 ,now in 2021 they sound like they never went away,to me this is like the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.both new songs 10 out of 10,they sound even better than before,I am still in tears of joy 4 days later after hearing these songs for the first time.
10/10 for me. I was so happy when I finally got to hear two of their new songs. Super fan since I was a kid. I am 56 now. My favorite all time group. I can't wait till Nov 5. Love their new songs to the point when I first started listening, I was so happy to hear their new songs, I started to cry tears of joy
I believe ABBA are the only band in the world that can bring a natural smile instantly to a human beings face. ABBA as a group have naturally, what the great John Lennon Had: Tapping into the song lyrics of Natural Humanity, Natural Human Melody, and Natural Human Song Production to INSTANTLY CONNECT with the Natural Human Heart of Emotion.
I give this a 10...I like it better than I Still Have Faith in You. Yes, everybody loves '80s music! Woo hoo! Glad to hear them again. The world needs them more than ever.
I play the track on my Amazon echo dot and it sound sonically different to ANYTHING I have listened to on that device. Abba bring a natural human smile to your face when you hear them. They really should be classified as a natural human vitamin.
Im balling my eyes out now i cant believe how good the songs still are, Coming from a 50 years + Abba Fan, Australia catapulted Abba to Fame when they Toured in 1977 They were ridicolous massive here in Australia Thats where all there Hit songs went to Number 1, Dissapointed that there Voyage tour isnt here in Australia First why did they choose England First, Abba now should continue making there Gorgeous Music and do not STOP PLEASE Love Em To Death
"Australia catapulted Abba to Fame when they Toured in 1977." What? Abba catapulted to fame, as you put it, when they won the European Song Contest in 1974, that's THREE YEARS earlier. I hate it when people try to re-write history.
I was a kid when ABBA was at their height in the 70s. They have got the gift of magic in their music. You can feel that magic move through you every time you listen to their albums. Love ABBA!
Nice to hear someone actually talking sense when reacting to this. I'm 48 and first listened to Abba in 1977 when i was four. It is the first music I was into. I bought Super Trouper with my pocket money and got The Visitors album for my 9th birthday. They have been a constant through my life. I have the Visitors in my car right now. Over the years I have been a rocker then a raver and have a broad taste in music. These two songs literally made me weep with joy at how they have completely capture that old vibe. These 2 tracks could have been released in the early 80s as you say. Im not sure how Im gonna make it through their concert. Ill be a jibbering wreck.
Great reaction. Thanks for sharing it with us. Love how you felt the music. Agnetha´s voice is pure magic. You´re right about storytelling. NOBODY does that in today´s music.
Yes I'm still in tears hearing these fantastic songs...just can't wait for the new album ..which I have pre ordered@@ fantastic so happy so dam excited 😆🤗😄
Fantastic reaction, and you certainly knew what you were talking about. I'm beyond super excited that they're back, this is what the music industry needs! Hopefully it's a wakeup call so that the current music gets better than it currently is.
Yes, let's hope that Music artists (especially music artists of Abba's era) can release songs and albums as they used to in their music heyday. But if artists from the past are going to release music as they did in the past, they need to use more of their past music creativity from the past on songs, than using a lot of the musical creativity of today's music, because...ARTISTICALLY... that is where most of their best music expressions are to be found, and these are the kind of music expressions music fans have been wishing for....FOR DECADES...from successful music artists of the past.
Oh, I loved this review - and the way you broke it down in segments. You are also absolutely spot on about the storytelling - it might have been a sequel to One of Us or The Day Before You Came. Also, your reference to Dancing Queen - yes, the sweeping piano and energy. I love Abba and have missed them. It’s a great song - classic Abba without stark changes which might have grated. Thank you. I’m off to check out your review of I Still Have Faith In You. ❤️
It also uses elements very similar to Voulez Vous album track If It Wasn't For The Nights. Bjorn said it was the follow up to The Visitors, ie the latest album, not the sequel 😉
i love the music and lyric craftsmanship...that their talent allows..Added to that are the abbatars....the first group to introduce immortal pop. Fantastic....It lifts your spirit........Amaz-sing
I love music. I am an amateur musician I listen to and sing everything pop, rock, musical and metal. Abba's music has always filled me with the greatest joy of music. I am always full of endorphins. I do not know why, but it is so.
I believe they are the only group in the world that can just naturally bring the most natural human smile to your face, just by listening to their music. This group are like the music terms of natural human detox and vitamin to truly make you feel good.
It is so my friend because...GREAT MUSIC IS GREAT MUSIC and ABBA just naturally do it FAR MUCH BETTER THAN ANY POP GROUP IN THE WHOLE WORLD. You are as a Listener truly supposed to be TOTALLY MOVED BY MUSIC, that is naturally supposed to be its REAL objective; just as you can be in MOVIE / FILM ART ARTISTIC CREATIVITY. It is just unfortunate very few musician/ artists/ Groups today truly move the listener of popular music, as ABBA have been able to do this year; in the year of 2021.
Its a rework of "Just like that" with "If it wasnt for the nights" backing track and sounds right out of the Voulez Vous album. They will be studying ABBA techniques in music school like mozart and behthoven
The cross-generation emotional appeal of ABBA has become a major part of their past and now current success. Thanks for explaining the musical nuts and bolts which are really not so complex. Genius remains a mystery. Nice curtains BTW!
Absolute logical sense from someone who wasn't even an embryo when ABBA were big, but understands their sound ;-) I appreciated all the acknowledgements to progression and transition and those "classic" ABBA sounds and hooks. One extra thing I noticed is those background vocal phrases in between the main vocal lines that add a connecting mood. Thumbs up from a fifty-something year old who grew up with them :-) Thumbs up/subscribed.
I was in radio for over 30 years. I have over 1000 CDs and in the last 3 years I have only bought just 1, it was Bjorns piano solo album. Brilliant. I despair of today's "music". The rebirth of ABBA is gift.
All the turmoil of the pandemic and all the others bad things happening around the world and suddenly ABBA is reborn like the Phoenix from the ashes to bring us all joy and songs to sing along with once again. God is good.
Awesome reaction! You hit and describe the right and typical Abba spots very well. Abba is still Abba, only with a little aged voices and use of the newest sound techniques. And ofcourse all of the instruments are back with some refreshing tweaks like the baselines, so catchy ;-)
Brilliant review and very informative. I do think these are some of the best lyrics Bjorn has ever written, with Agnetha asking fans to accept the new incarnation of Abba as the woman in the song asks her lover to accept the new person she has become. And as others have said, so nice to see someone so young enthusing over these heroes of my long lost youth.
This song is great. I love the bit that sounds like the start of dancing queen. I agree with you they did not try to change their music. It's amazing vocals and instrumentation -amazing.
When Abba was on the radio , I was already a punk Rocker. I missed the point back then, all I heard was how slick they were. It was years later that I heard how sad they were.
The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors") Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid "Don't shut me down" it's another surprise from ABBA A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice. Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us. and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music") Thank for your great reaction and for Your respect to ABBA music now wey waiting for the new album and see in next ABBA vídeo GOD bless You
🧡 ABBA ! ICONIC, CLASSIC ABBA ! Everyone to the dance floor ! Deejays are already remixing this song into long-play singles. Incredible. Ecstatic indeed. I'm in my 20's again and want to dance. Thank you, Joe. You're really good with reactions. Will check out your full channel. For the love of music, and ABBA - Peace.
Sensational hey ???.......I have loved ABBA since the beginning,,,, I saw them in 1977 here in Perth AU.... (yes, I am old ).......haaaaaaaa....Musically and Lyrically its PERFECT !!!!..........Cant wait til London May 2022 !!!!
I concur! It’s fascinating to get a glimpse into the perspective of a professional musician and producer. I now appreciate this song - and all of ABBA’s creations - even more than I did when I was completely obsessed with them in my teens (30-40 years ago)!

Thank you very much for this accurate analysis and presentation of the main new Abba's track. Rivers of tears of joy and look back with them back on the scene. For me, at 63, is kinda dive into my past.
Absolutely a 10. The vocals sound amazing; just like 40 years ago. The song writing is top notch and well produced. I just hope they put more music out there for us to enjoy. This song needs to get a lot of airplay on the radio; much better music than the current stuff. Thank you for your reaction.
I don't think I can remember a time in modern music history where a song has been given so much worldwide critical praise as these two incredibly brilliant ABBA singles. The incredible moving reviews on RUclips for these 2 comeback ABBA singles, I believe are unprecedented in popular music history.
I usually hate people reviewing stuff iv loved for over 30 + years but you were so respectful & you was bang on with what you said . nuff respect to you! Welcome back ABBA!
Thank you! 🌷🌷🌷🌷This nor any new material is going into the old "Mamma Mia" format. ABBA is building their own arena in London for these new songs and a new digital formate of show, will premiere in May 2022👍
ABBA is not rock, is not any other form of music, but they have their own music story which is ABBA. The music, the melodies, the lyrics, the beats, the harmonies are the story of ABBA. It is a true journey. ABBA FOREVER.
Thank you sir for your honest humbled opinion on this once in a life time band ..I guess you were not alive when Abba were on the scene in the 70's so for me it's is good to have a young man to give his expert opinion on them ..thank you so much for your true humbled opinion it means a lot to us old farts lol ...

ABBA has made 2021 a good year and I needed that.
I grew up with Abba, and felt almost betrayed when they quit.
When they announced two songs a couple of years ago (my daughter broke the news)
and they never came... I was disappointed. I am a Swede but I sort of missed
that they were doing a whole album and an abbatar show.
Today I found myself crying my eyes out over Don't shut me down.
For several reasons.
I cry over the lyrics as most of the "later" (these are even later...) Abba songs do.
I cry because my husband is not here to hear it.
I cry about the sadness of ageing.
And I cry a bit like Emma Thompson's Elinor
when she finally realises she was never betrayed by Edward Ferrars.

This type of direction may not necessarily be coming from music artists themselves but by their management and record label.
Fitting in today's music marketplace, may not be where their best music expression is found but is found in the expression of the music they were realising in the past.
Just like Duran Duran have shown very recently with their new singles and album.

This is the ABBA disco, from when Disco ruled the planet!
And they deliver it at 2021!!
Only ABBA are timeless!
💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙
ABBATARS 😉
Polar price, not Nobel price :)
Björn mainly do the lyrics, Benny the music in general.
The girls the singing.
Sum
Why now give the whole group the Polar price while they all 4 live?
@@kristerkarlehem3335 actually Bob Dylan got both prices I think!
Best song I’ve heard in 40 years. it’s amazing, REAL music is back and the timing is perfect for the time we live in now.
And the world suddenly needed hope and ABBA came back
I haven't thought about ABBA for ages, but I can't get enough of this song. I cried, I had goosebumps, it's just so beautiful and I love how they add more background vocals as the song goes on.
We all cried buddy. We grew up with their sound. It came with us. It will never leave us.
I just love them so much. Can't believe they sound so great at 70s +
57 here, same experience…
I'm 56 and loved them since I was 8. It really gave me a boost and I think the world as well. This is going to be so massive!
I'm 56 too and agree.
I'am 53 ,abba Fan since i was 6 or 8 years old. My holy goodness ,bye bye corona Virus,Welcome the fab 4 from sweden ,we are safe now. Abba saved this Planet with these two New Songs. Brilliant, amazing work guys!!
Can we talk about how well-engineered and well-mixed this song is???
Thankyou Joe
Danceing Queen or King Aka 2021 the feel good vibes throughout this production is amazingly ABBA at there best 🙌 The voices are supremely beautiful and the harmonies in the chorus just magical
10/10 for me and welcome back ABBA your triumphant return is what wee all needed 👍
It’s amazing how good the voices are..so good to hear them again..the world is a happier place 🙏🏻👍🏻🌹😃
It sure is wonderful to hear strings, real instruments and not the same repetitive drum sounds that sound like fingers snapping all the time. Thank you Abba, along with other artists, for bringing back music with the way it was intended.....with REAL instruments and not a casio keyboard.
They've still got the magic. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Man I'm a mess and need to blow my nose and wipe the tears from my eyes every time I hear this song! The multi-layered beauty of Agnetha's voice, the strings, the timpaniies and the perfect musicality and if course - the nostalgia - is simply euphoric.
Ugly crying every time I hear it
Same here
I think what you said about this track is the thing that exactly makes this track TOTALLY UNIQUE to ANY OTHER MUSIC TRACK that enters into the Top 40 British Music Charts..

What about Frida? Her voice is just as youthful!
I don't know who's signing which part, but people on the Internet keep saying that it's Frida who's voice aged well.
@@Elfangel85 i have written my opinion and you should feel free to have your own one.
Kind regards :)
This is what singing without autotune sounds like. Wonderful.
There is definitely pitch correction -- they're just being very selective of where they use it and to what degree.
@Nick Emerson Cool!
@Nick Emerson Thanks for that. You can tell the difference.
I saw an interview with Robert Taylor who was upset that a (rock) music critic
had written that the harmonies were too good to be for real.
Would that same critic have said that the harmonies
of Eric Ericsons Chamber Choir were too good to be true?
Musicality and rehearsal works wonders.
(And worked for hundreds of years before autotune.)
Best song on the album, Agnetha gives Abba another no 1
A.B.B.A are back... 😎👌🇸🇪
Never thought we'd hear the geniuses of pop 🎶 again..
One very happy 57 year old 👴 😭😭😭

ABBA created its own genre. Their music is not really pop, rock, jazz, classical, blues, folk, etc., but an amalgamation of everything, but still unusual and unique in that it doesn’t sound like anything on the radio, past or present. They are in their own category.
For me the magic of Abba is their really unique soundscape that is happy hopeful and melancholic at the same time. It's amazing.
@@chrisx5582 I agree.
We are living in a day and age that with all the technical innovation of electronic music instruments and innovations of recording production, there are hardly ANY such Pop tracks out there that TRULY overwhelm you with natural
human emotion such as this Abba track.
Abba's comeback 40 years later has given a great boot up the ass, to all pop musicians in the world, of how you truly create a pop classic in the 21st Century.
It’s like eating chocolate ice cream everyday without guilt

You couldnt offend anyone by saying that Michael, everyone who grew up with Abba just feels like life got brought back into the World!!! :)
Greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾! I'm 48 and just felt like the soundtrack of my childhood is back! Thanks! Stay safe!
Proves once again that muscians don't really get old. They get better with age (even Abba).
70s they split up in the eighties
@@bikerianm They still had no.1 singles and albums in the 80s
Im balling my eyes out now i cant believe how good the songs still are,
Coming from a 50 years + Abba Fan, Australia catapulted Abba to Fame
when they Toured in 1977 They were ridicolous massive here in Australia
Thats where all there Hit songs went to Number 1, Dissapointed that
there Voyage tour isnt here in Australia First why did they choose
England First, Abba now should continue making there Gorgeous Music and
do not STOP PLEASE Love Em To Death
"Australia catapulted Abba to Fame when they Toured in 1977." What? Abba catapulted to fame, as you put it, when they won the European Song Contest in 1974, that's THREE YEARS earlier. I hate it when people try to re-write history.
I was a kid when ABBA was at their height in the 70s. They have got the gift of magic in their music. You can feel that magic move through you every time you listen to their albums. Love ABBA!
Got there album as soon as it came out I’m 24 almost 25 and have I ever expected this come back abba is back to save us they are pure angels
I love this song..Welcome back Abba!
I'm impressed that you picked up on the Dancing Queen piano riff 😊
It builds absolutely brilliantly, gets more layered as it progresses without sounding cluttered at all
Absolutely great. Love ABBA. Not a Dancing Queen, but sooo ABBA. ❣️
I heard Bjorn say in an interview that Voyage is a sequel of The Visitors album.
That is the best technical reaction to an ABBA song I've seen - brilliant. I'm so happy they're back!
thank you ! means a lot ! :)
They are in there mid to early 70s and they sound amazing... its beyond belief... if the whole album is like this .. hot damn
I'm so happy and proud of ABBA who is doing great beutiful music again and I love it. Big love to ABBA from Stockholm Sweden💖💖
The cross-generation emotional appeal of ABBA has become a major part of their past and now current success. Thanks for explaining the musical nuts and bolts which are really not so complex. Genius remains a mystery. Nice curtains BTW!
Love the fabulous orchestra underpinning the melody, fabulous ABBA
ABBA is probably the best band EVER
I will forever remain a true ABBA Fan ! Here out of South Africa.. amidst of all the hurt in the world .. ABBA brings me JOY😁🖐🎹🎈❤
Absolute logical sense from someone who wasn't even an embryo when ABBA were big, but understands their sound ;-)
I appreciated all the acknowledgements to progression and transition and those "classic" ABBA sounds and hooks.
One extra thing I noticed is those background vocal phrases in between the main vocal lines that add a connecting mood.
Thumbs up from a fifty-something year old who grew up with them :-)
Thumbs up/subscribed.
Goosebumps, very emotional.ABBA again thank you for the music.❤❤
Love the song so much and got my tickets today :) Love ABBA XXC
I was in radio for over 30 years. I have over 1000 CDs and in the last 3 years I have only bought just 1, it was Bjorns piano solo album. Brilliant. I despair of today's "music". The rebirth of ABBA is gift.
74 years old and in shock. In a good way. Amazing
Love that! Thanks for watching
Perfect 10!
Great ABBA sound ,we miss you so much!!!!!!!that voices ,the piano ,the real músic 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 thank you so much ABBA ,WELCOME BACK 🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦
This song looks like that was recorded in 1979 and hid in Safe for 40 years, and now abba open this safe kkkkkk
Perfect interpretation!
This song is great. I love the bit that sounds like the start of dancing queen. I agree with you they did not try to change their music. It's amazing vocals and instrumentation -amazing.
i am now and then combined ! Its all there .
The world had a pandemic and then ABBA came along and lifted our spirits. GODS OF MUSIC ❤
Great work, Joe 👏🏻. You got the song to the point like nobody else did!
When Abba was on the radio , I was already a punk Rocker. I missed the point back then, all I heard was how slick they were. It was years later that I heard how sad they were.
The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors")
Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid
"Don't shut me down"
it's another surprise from ABBA
A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work
The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice.
Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us.
and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA
But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits
And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music")
Thank for your great reaction
and for Your respect to ABBA music
now wey waiting for the new album
and see in next ABBA vídeo
GOD bless You
🧡 ABBA !
ICONIC, CLASSIC ABBA ! Everyone to the dance floor !
Deejays are already remixing this song into long-play singles. Incredible. Ecstatic indeed. I'm in my 20's again and want to dance.

Love this video. Pointed out things I didn’t realized at first.
I concur! It’s fascinating to get a glimpse into the perspective of a professional musician and producer. I now appreciate this song - and all of ABBA’s creations - even more than I did when I was completely obsessed with them in my teens (30-40 years ago)!

I am ecstatic that ABBA IS BACK WITH A BANG!
Oh, my God! A great and clever reaction! Thank you so much. This song deserves more than 10. Amazing! 👏
One of the best analyses I've heard of the song. Thank you so much, Joe!
That is a perfect comeback song!
Yeah this is 100% ABBA, the voices, the sounds, the meloody

100 % REAL MUSIC. AMAZING, BRILLIANT
ABBA is not rock, is not any other form of music, but they have their own music story which is ABBA. The music, the melodies, the lyrics, the beats, the harmonies are the story of ABBA. It is a true journey. ABBA FOREVER.
Dude lol. Abba is great, I really like Abba. But Abba is pop, great pop, still it’s pop. They got elements of disco in their songs, but it’s pop.
There’s a spectacular light show of their album release in Sydney Australia on the harbour bridge.
totally agree with you, I´m glad ABBA didn´t "modernize" to "fit" to 2021
Thank you sir for your honest humbled opinion on this once in a life time band ..I guess you were not alive when Abba were on the scene in the 70's so for me it's is good to have a young man to give his expert opinion on them ..thank you so much for your true humbled opinion it means a lot to us old farts lol ...
