I m an MBA from a Grade-B college. Best 1 and half years of my life...I learnt so many things.. met so many people, bulit relationships and grew as an Individual. Secured a job in a Big 4, which I would have never gotten, otherwise.
Big 4 ❎️ small 4 ✅️. Never would have gotten lol , that is because you didn't work hard prior to mba. The only reason you got a job is because you worked hard. You just learnt that a lot later in life.
@Rit799 My life would have been better if i understood that in 5th grade. Well, at least i have understood it earlier so that i don't have to depend on mba to get jobs. Truth is bitter man, so just accept it and move on.
My man, on one hand, is saying to pursue MBA only from premium college if a student really wants to, but on the other hand (at the 2nd half of the short), he is also saying that a piece of paper does not define anything, and that it is better to get real world exposure on whatever bachelor's degree the student acquired, instead of pursuing MBA. In my opinion, he is contradicting himself. If someone pursues MBA from a non-premium college due to any reason, he/she can make up for it by getting whatever MBA-related job at the beginning, learning from the experience there, and then finally transitioning to a high-paying MBA job and corporation. Although this can consume some time, considering that MBA is a post-graduate degree, it can still open horizons for a student.
instead of comparing mba degree with real world experience and debating on the pros and cons why not have them both. Go to a good bschool, live the college life to the fullest one last time because you only live once and it’s not going to come back, at the same time work hard, network with people, gain experience and exposure and excel in your career
MBA from a tier 1 or a top tier 2 leverages your career by leaps n bounds ... A clear difference can be seen 7-8 years down the line. There are positions in companies where one won't even be considered in the absence of an MBA degree . Also the growth when you start from a 20-25 lpa starting salary is massive in the first 5 years itself ... So yes we can philosophise whatever but the truth remains the truth ! If u can't crack a tier 1 , go for a good tier 2, you won't repent ! An MBA coupled with hardwork is way better than a mere graduation coupled with hardwork
I am not against Mba , matter of fact I was preparing for the GMAT. However oneday I talked to my friend who is from IIM Udaipur, I told him how the management career is going What he replied was shocking,he told nothing has changed his CTC is 27-28 lakh ,he gets in hand 1.3 lakh out of that max goes to education loan repayment, and he still needs pay back bank 14 lakh rupees even after 5 years of work. On top of that his manager always tells him he wasted his money ,and he is worthless. So I asked him why don't you switch,he replied every other company asking for programming skills (basic level atleast) to become a manager. As he can't switch and leave the current job ,he started his trading as a side career, once he becomes successful he said he will leave that stupid job. Funny part is he is not the only one who is stuck in this system many graduates even from IIMA leave their job due to too much pressure. So IIM/XLRI degree won't save you. If you are ready to take the financial burden and ready to face the corporate torcher ,you should go for it.🎉
Skills over anything else. And no, MBA educational institutes in India do not teach that. World will always look at pulling you down. If you have not done MBA - they will negotiate with you for low salary, not consider for promotion stating 'no mba'. Once inside MBA, you will realise how much downgrade it is from real work experience and that includes top Indian colleges even IIM A,B,C. And the world will again tell you, hey you have gap, hey you don't fit into this that position because you have degree but lack skills.
Bro first of all to get into good college for MBA you need to prepare for that particular entrance exam and the preparation is slightly tough with work so If you want good clg like iim, sp Jain , JBIMS, welinker, GIM, and many more then you must prepare for entrance at least one year ssly Because every good thing takes time bro
People like him only try to promote Tier 1 collegea like IIMs but in reality doing mba from B - grade does not mean that everything is worthless after 1-2 years of experience college relevance does not matter if you upgrade your skills and are more focused on work.
He is absolutely correct. Some of my classmates they did MBA or Mtech were still struggling to get a placement. They spent so money in 2 years of graduation and earned none. And when they got an offer it was not even what it should be.. I start working right after my btech, I earner money + I also save that money which could have been spent on my post graduation. Also got work experience, 2 years of work experience can double your salary but 2 years of post graduation can't instead you will loose your money.. Post graduation doesn't add any value in your career, your skills does. Plus you get real life industry exposure.
guys need advice, my cousin wants to do mba, but she has this scar on her face(half of her face) so does beauty really matter in the management sector?
But industry demands post graduation as basic qualification in their requirements. Pay packs are decided based on PG too. Then how does any student or parents decide for the career & prospects for that student. Secondly everyone cannot afford admission in premium MBA institutes.
there are many b grade mba schools that get 100% placements or have better ROIs than so called A grade mba schools. there are many tier 1 mba schools which struggle to place 100% of the batch and ask them to seek placements outside even when half of the batch is left. it's all about roi and your networking skills. Although the thing about pedagogy and alumni relations is right, but it depends on college to college how fruitfully they can utilise this network of theirs.
I would like to correct you on this . In india , we are not geared up for 1 year mba except isb . Even iim, xlri ,sp jain offer 1 year Full time mba , but they are no where in terms of placements. Companies prefer 2 year exp at max or freshers for MT jobs and this is where majority of companies are paying especially sales and marketing , HR and even consulting .

I have plans to pursue MBA from a top b school but the thing is it's been a few months since I graduated and I still have no work experience. Top b schools mostly prefer ppl with work experience over freshers and since I haven't done anything extraordinary during my clg years, the only way for me to have atleast a chance is by gaining 2-3 works of work experience and above 99% in CAT. Forget work experience, I don't even know how to apply for an internship or what to do. I'm so clueless rn, can you help me? Like if you have any idea regarding internships, do share.
