T-Bills offer interest rates as high or higher than most CD's . I commonly get 5.25% on 4 week T-Bills. T-Bills, aside from being backed by the government, are not subject to local or state taxes. Ladder 4 - 4 week T-Bills and once the first one matures you will have access to 1/4th of your total investment every week to do with whatever you wish, spend, redirect to other investments or buy another T-Bill. In my mind T-Bills are the #1 investment to consider if you're looking for safety, good returns and flexibility.
One thing you missed with long term bonds is if the FED drops rates, you can get a MUCH greater return than 4.50% as bond funds react inversely to interest rates.
I would be interested in that video on broker cds. I too love dividend investing. I even recognized some of them that splashed on the screen because I have them too. Jepi and SPHD for example. I do have several different types of bonds too.
I have the patience and the short attention span that ranged to watch this whole video to leave my money alone in any of theses accounts and forget it it exist.

I've already tried to explain to my kids that music used to be stored on a physical object. They didn't get it
Lower interest rates are what the stock market needs to skyrocket, so I'm hoping for the Fed to cut rates.
