I like Griff. Dude saw the big picture and while I'm not 100% if "patriotic" is the right word (Gargoyles don't exactly consider the country they live in (or think of themselves as citizens of human nations) just their territory their clan protects) he considers it his duty to aid the city during a time of a war against an invading enemy instead of keeping his head down like most Clans would in the modern day. Dude was awesome!
Fun fact, there was actually plans for Milo Thatch, Kida, and Team Atlantis to crossover with Gargoyles had their show been made after their direct to video TV pilot, Milo's Return.

Gargoyles works under the Grandfather Paradox. Basically every attempt to change the past is futile since the past was already changed by you going before you did so.
Maybe not? Because I think there's no paradox because even though Goliath went back in time to save Griff he ultimately did so by removing him from 1940 and bring him to 1990. So therefore technically the Paradox can't happen.

Then modern Demona confirms she remembers it, but it did not affect what else happened over time to make her who she was today.
No, not really just folded as I'll come to understand time. any decision made by an one now an then just add's to the fabric of time booms that affect large ares are more damaging. Thinning the fabric but not for long it's very flexible . It's one of the reasons you can't step back in time every decision adds another wrinkle to the fabric.

I don't believe the Phoenix Gate mirrors what we'd expect out of the Flash universe. Before, when Demona first used the artifact, she actually allowed the timeline to continue; David Xanatos told his father a 'mysterious donor' who sent him a gold coin AND a list of instructions to give Xanatos his wealth and power, simply by traveling back in time with Demona, Goliath and his newly-wed wife, Fox. Even Demona, who remembered her interactions with her Future Self, DID NOT change. However, even I don't believe fully that Time is a continuous loop.
I wish the gargoyles were more consistent in their features as the British gargoyles have completely different features to goliath as they literally have heads and body parts of animals.

Well Goliath and his clan are Scottish and probably older, while the English easily took over the Welsh and combined their own gargoyle beliefs
