I'm curious how you do them, do you do 21 of each thing? Or have you made it a solid movement that one round of movements is one. I have been thinking about that. Let me know please :)
Dear @Tim van der vilet, wow my dear beautiful friend I started with you my great come- back to Tibetans.. And I'm on 15 times rep. this week.. I took it slowly and have a great time cause they are first thing doing on my mat and at the morninh, so happy to meet you on Tibetans... Circles and love
And when you do the table top you can streach fully? i mean the more you do it there more you can bend obviously, how long does it take to build nice flexibility? i love doing them btw :)
I have been doing these Rites since 1990 every morning. Like you I have added what I call the 5 Tibetan Plus, natural moves for me that fit with the 5. My routine takes about 30minutes and I am stronger today then I was 30 years ago. I am in my late 60's :-)
5 Tibetans for me are totally precious gem. I do it every day ( 3 rounds 7reps each exercise) as a morning routine, about 4 years. In 4 years I got a very nice toned body with amazing mobility and flexibility. Great stuff. I recommend them for everyone
I'm 76 and have incorporated this routine into my daily yoga practice. I do these every morning. I'm up to 19. I started out with 3 and increased 1 each week. I believe that proper breathing, strength, and flexibility are the keys to a healthy body (as well as what you put into your body). As far as the spinning, I am surprised that as you progress, you get less and less dizzy. It has to be good for balance.
First of all thanks for the demostration. This is one of the good videos I've seen and the view is wonderful. I have been doing these exercises since 2000 or so on and off. In the last three months I began to do at least 5 times a week. The whole 21 set takes about 5-6 minutes and very easy to do once you began doing each day. And it definetly gives energy and makes you feel real good. One trick may be doing it like in the evening when you feel most low (if you are to stay awake till 12-1 especially) Believe me doing these plus a nice 4-5km walk each day is all you need.
My husband and I swear by these exercises!! I got rid of painful sciatica suffered 3 days...husband said...do my exercises...Bam...even just 1 set of doing half assed...when I got up from floor...TOTALLY GONE! Then year later had out of this world head ache (blessed at 72 to never get headaches) but this was a doozy! Again, husband said...do my exercises...did 1 set..again half assed...got up praying all the way back to couch...I sat on couch waiting...waiting...GONE...NATTA!! Just hour ago...husband that had been suffering for 4 days with shoulder pain and no chiros were available on Thursdays! So after using all the oils and zapper and different things to help...to no avail...guess what I said...go do your exercises! He did and hallelujah!!!! He walked back into kitchen standing straight up and no sharp pain...just a tiny something that was nothing compared to last 4 days! These guys do a great, quick easy job of explaining how simple it is. EVERYONE should do these exercises EVERYDAY! We sure are now...kind of forgot about them...but never again!!! ..
Starting out at 21 is more than likely too much. If I remember correctly I started out at 10 and then added 2 each week until I got to 21. I should note that a few years back I had to have a pacemaker installed due to low heartbeat pulse (bradycardia). At that time I pretty much sarted over at 10 again and added a couple each week. If one overdoes it, it's easy to get discouraged as you suggested. Good luck with the rites, it's worth it regardless of age. @@lindaniemeyer7575
I breathe in when moving the head up, in the last exercise. I breathe out when raising my bottom. Is that correct? Please tell me because I've been doing it like that for years.
Beautiful! Thanks! Been doing them since college:) In the second rite, the head and legs should be raised simultaneously at least that's the way I was taught and been doing them. Cheers:)
What an amazing experience must have been to practice Tibetan rites in this terrain. Excellent performed btw, one of the very few vids that are spot on.
tried these about forty years ago and wasn't convinced-harder now, of course, but somehow they make sense; thank you for nice video and clear instructions!
The idea is not really to exercise, but to move the spine. It is the movement of the spine combined with the movement of the body that is displacing stagnant energy. Master Chunyi Lin does a fine job of explaining how the Chi moves through the body with some other simpler exercises.
Loving your video, Thank you! Been practicing rites for a while and it's life changing :) Will be recommending your video to my clients, it's very well done and looooooooving the mountains :) Thank you for awesome work Love and Light :)
Awesome ! and good to see attention to where fingers are facing and posture,, i have learned these 30 years back and I still do these when I find time,, great video ! Best one i've seen ! Thank you :)
Thank you so much for this video and for creating the guide. I just found out about the 5 Tibetan Rites and definitely will try to incorporate them in my daily routine :)
Great explanation on the rites, perfect location too, how stunning. I need to get back into regular practice of the rites and it is true you feel so much better with regular daily practice.
Thank you. I appreciate the precision, accuracy and how your full presence is maintained and carried throughout the whole movement. This is the best video demonstration of the Rites I have seen so far.
Great video! I love the 5 tibetan rites. I do them every morning. I also appreciate the encouragement you gave «to go as far as you can in a pain free range of motion.» Thank you for sharing!🙏❤️
Best execution of the 5 rites I've found so far. Used to practice 'religiously' up until about seven years ago. Fell out of the habit and into the inverse of wellness. Only up to 12 reps but feeling the benefits already - inside and out. 😊
This is very cool. I'ma tell you why. This works! I have 20 years pumping iron or more. Gave it up for yoga two years ago. I'm saying for me it was a little challenging and my breathing was way up. Which I love. I'm so happy to have discovered this. So much has been hidden . Thanks to you all.
Totally looking to try those rites since we are in the confinement era. Those mouvements doesn’t require a lots of pace. Had to canceled all my trekking adventure , time to gather new habits. Thank you much 😊
Yes they are perfect for isolation! You should check out my elements program as well, if you have a spare $10... It's an entire program as opposed to just 5 movements, and it's designed for hikers who are stuck at home :)
Thanks for this wonderful demonstration. My wife and I in New Zealand have been doing the Tibetan Rites for many years on and off as part of our daily practice. This is encouraging us to start again and we have sent the link to our grandsons in the UK.

I learned this from you Tim. You’re the man.
Very encouraging. I'm 73 and slowly working my way to max 21 reps . Hope to gain some more energy in doing these exercises.
And when you do the table top you can streach fully? i mean the more you do it there more you can bend obviously, how long does it take to build nice flexibility? i love doing them btw :)

Reading it right now. So fascinating!

@@gargos25 nope. Breathe in when raising the butt. Also in the second rite: breathe in when raising the legs
Yes if you time the movements with your breathing whilst sensing the corresponding chacra , after awhile you can feel it activating.
Yes and some breathing is exactly the opposite to what we do in yoga, like for the up/down dog.
