I knew, well guessed, that 'God' would refer to him as Samael rather than Lucifer. Because that is the name He gave him at his creation. Lucifer is who Samael became after the fall. And spoiler You've also seen him in season 5 and that's actually god there. He acts a bit different then from here.
I hope they show death of the endless at some point, it'll be interesting to show a catalyst that even those death isnt as powerful as lucifer, they are both protected by the same being, thus they cannot kill each other but merely intimidate and make fun of each other, would be an interesting dynamic in the show

I just realized how great this whole scenario would be for God. By putting a human substitute in for himself, God allows Lucifer to vent and develop as a person. This would help God figure out how best to help his son in the future while being subtle enough that Lucifer is convinced that he still has free will. Assuming God was in fact behind this, he simultaneously was a good dad and kept track of his duties running the multiverse. Well played God, well played.
Make sure you watch the whole episode guys. God Johnson isn't actually God. The belt basically made him into a over simplified God, and made him actually have a heart.

Well technically they did make piece in that moment but later in the same episode things happen that make Lucifer realize that God Johnson only thought he was god because the piece of Azraels blade was his belt buckle making him able to heal anyone, that still doesn't explain why god Johnson lost some of his memory (probably because he made contact with a celestial object or some other reason), well anyway Lucifer gets furious because he knows that everything God Johnson says to him his father would never say to him. So in fact Lucifer is even more pissed off with his father more than ever. Even with this statement there is still a few things in the episode that doesn't add up with me.

He wants to be vulnerable, he wants to be open with her. God sent her down for Lucifer definitely as whatever but it's him who chooses that. My previous opinion is what I thought before.

Fast forward a few years and the actual god says these exact words to Lucifer, so it wasn't a complete falsehood and these were words that God was actually thinking, but prior to giving up his omnipotence and powers he could never say them, because he simply lacked the ability to feel emotion, but in this case, the man is wearing a belt that grants him God's memories and a portion of his power, but not his omnipotence, so here, he feels emotion and can actually tell Lucifer these things.
