I bought the new Dove Dermacare anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner at my local Target and they do NOT contain Methylisothiazolinone. My father loves it as do I; it gives us nice soft hair and no itch. We both have very sensitive skin & scalp, and I have confirmed allergies to MI & MCI preservatives, so finding hair products that won’t cause irritation can be challenging. Amazon is very hit and miss when it comes to personal care products. I often wonder if their products are counterfeit, rejects, or expired, so I tend to not buy from them.
100% agree. Their issue with counterfeiting is the main reason I never and will never buy certain types of goods from them, chiefly anything meant to go on skin, and anything meant to be ingested.
I am tech/skincare geek so I wrote some scripts to search through public ingredients lists from Unilever. Unilever seemed to have the same base formulation between Suave and Dove brand products. The difference seems to be that MCI/MI/DMDM are moved to Suave brand and Dove brand is mostly are free of these ingredients. I think this is where the slightly higher cost goes to in the Dove brand and Suave gets the cheaper ingredients to hold its lower retail prices. The Dove dandruff products have been reformulated, including Dove for Men, and removed MCI/MI/DMDM in the newer version. They also look a lot more basic because of the reformulation, so they may not perform as well. I wish they didn't do that to the Suave brand. Dove, even Dove for Men, tend to be too fragrant for me while Suave is more milder, but now you have to deal with MCI/MI/DMDM.

She never used to wear makeup way back in the beginning if you’ve been following her as long as me, and only has one sunscreen over makeup video. Now that she’s wearing makeup more regularly, I’d like to see her techniques and products… if she still recommends the same stuff or has found new ones that she likes. 🤷♀️

Tempted to try the cooling body wash. My dad used to always bring home a body wash from Germany called Cliff and it was totally a "for men" style soap with menthol and eucalyptus, super cooling, had a icy mountain on the bottle, you know, for men who can climb mountains or some nonsense lol! As a teenager I freaking loved it! Even at 38 I'm still super duper oily (high androgens/PCOS) so I don't mind a less gentle body soap to cut the oil and wish I could find something like it. Living in Seattle we are one of the least air conditioned cities in the US so with the new mega-heatwaves a "cooling" body wash with menthol can be the difference between getting to sleep or not when your house is over 80F inside.

I love those degree body washes with epsom salts , I’ve been buying them for over a year now and they have always helped my sore feet and shoulders , i lather up the sorest body parts and let it soak in and then finish my shower and they seriously helped me and I’m SO sad my Walmart stopped carrying them all of a sudden .. I really liked these !
So I got a new job next to a Whole Foods. I've never ever shopped there. I've been going for lunch and yeah, I found prices to be reasonable. There are definitely certain items that are absurdly overpriced and I can get the same item at a regular grocery store for less. But you're right, prices are mostly reasonable (Especially if you use your Prime discount). I can grab some smoked salmon, pretzel chips and an apple for 10 bucks. That's cheaper than going out to lunch every day and the package of smoked salmon lasts 3 days.
I would highly recommend Head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner specifically the citrus one for greasy hair. feels insanely refreshing! I’m actually a little bit shook, especially as a hair product snob. I hope the formula isn’t different in the US, but no MI here! I need to get the 1 l bottle of the shampoo.

Of course I'm referring to the Li effector here in Greece i don't see fragrance in its ingredient list so i still don't know is it ok ? Not written correctly ? Misleading ? So many feelings going on mixing up and yet i don't know the result. The smell of freshly made coffee ooh man heaven and the sound of pouring it in a mug bliss. When i cook i prepare all the spices the ingredients and it might look chaotic put when i use them in a right order it's so practical and i don't go and fetch stuff here and there i have them right next to me ready for use. UPDATE: While shopping at Kroger today, I checked the Dove dandruff shampoo (both formulas) and their matching conditioners for that preservative you spoke of. It was not listed on any of the bottles I checked. 🙂

We had a nasty storm buzz through Ft Worth Thursday evening. We lost power for 8 hours in my neighborhood. And I'm counting my blessings because yesterday, (Saturday) there were still areas that hadn't gotten their power back. 😢
I remember one of the Dove dandruff formulas having the M preservatives when I was looking at physical bottles in-store like a year ago. Not the dryness and itch relief one (which I bought precisely to avoid that preservative) but one of the other formulas.
I got the Degree cherry 🍒 body wash and absolutely love it!! I wish I knew it was going to disappear so quick, bc I would have gotten a back-up. I want to try the Dove one and the body scrub…it smells so good but the Degree was definitely my favorite!!

It’s just a really nice, authentic smelling cherry scent and if you want to layer it after the shower with other cherry scented lotions, fragrances, etc…it works well with that. But it’s definitely not an incredibly strong long lasting body wash. It’s comparable to BBW body wash scents imo. If you’re incredibly sensitive to fragrance though, you might find it to be to much. I love fragrance and the stronger the better lol…but I wouldn’t classify this as really strong and long lasting

There are like four different Dove Dandruff shampoos, two of them have Methylisothiazolinone, the "Coconut and Hydration" and "Soothing Moisture" for example have very different ingredients list than the one you were using.
I just got a new Olay moisturizer and I know you don’t like them but I love it! As long as I apply it to a damp face I don’t get any film left over ☺️ I didn’t have many options for cheaper stuff though due to some allergies!

Complimentary gift with something I ordered. Enjoy the video, so relaxing when compared to the trial that we were bombarded with here. Speaking of collagen, I'm reminded of someone I worked with who said that she had a collagen buildup in her skin which was why in her 50s she didn't have any wrinkles but it sounded as though it was something that had to be treated. Have you ever heard of such? Is that some type of disorder? I guess I was a little jealous that she had that because who wouldn't want a whole bunch of extra collagen. Maybe she misunderstood her physician but she did have very smooth, tight, and wrinkle free skin even when emoting.🤔☺

You're missing the metabolic benefit of cold. I lost 20 lbs incorporating cold showers daily into my routine. Increases brown fat. First time in my life wasn't always freezing cold in the winter months.

If I recall correctly from years back, I believe she said the cream was more suitable for dry skin. Nevertheless I purchased the cream but I also used adapalene first and that is in gel form. Didn't make my skin feel any different one way or another but perhaps I have normal skin as opposed to oily or dry. I'm just assuming because we're all getting older everyday that my skin should be headed toward dry.
Re Vitamin E. I am a recent convert to your videos so I don't know if you have ever addressed vitamin E and warts. About 55 years ago I had a wart on the bottom of my heel. I could not walk on it, which lead to me being in a very foul mood, which lead to my being a nightmare to live with. All of the available remedies seemed undesirable, so I turned to my favourite nutrition expert, Adelle Davis. (Google her if you have not heard of her.) She wrote a lot about the effects of nutrition on skin. Her advice was to pierce a vitamin E capsule with a pin, squeeze the contents onto a bandage, and apply the bandage to the wart. Change the bandage every 2-3 days, with a fresh application of E. I don't remember exactly how long it took, but it was weeks not days. The wart was gradually replaced with healthy skin and I have never had another problem with warts. I have stopped talking about this, because people tend to be skeptical. BUT IT WORKED. It is necessary to be consistent, perhaps for 4-6 weeks, but for me it was better than some of the drastic methods available at the time. I would do it again today.
Dr Dray Slays! Ok here is a question: a lot of MUAs a few years ago came out with this 'life saving' tip about mixing oil with foundation to make it look luminous. They mention jojoba specifically and I think vitamin E as well. Wouldn't straight up oil really mess with a foundation's efficacy if it contains SPF?? Please advise, and thank you!
Maybe the dove you have is a newer batch, because i do recall dove shampoos having the isothiazolinones as predervatives before. Maybe checking the expiration dates of the bottles solves the riddle hahahah

Trying to find that exact shampoo has been difficult, for me at least. The one you mentioned says Hypoallergenic on the front of the bottle. That specific one isn't carried at my "local" Target or Walmart. Could only find via your link to Amazon. So I ordered it from the Amazonian and can't wait to try it!

Online Walmart has the specific one from Feb Raves and Rejects video (on the front of the bottle the colors are white section, brown bar that says Hypoallergenic fragrance, then gold section- I had to zoom in the video to see the specific coloring and hunt for that, if that makes sense) for $12.95 + $5.99 shipping. I'm not a plus member though so that might make a difference, and I live in far west Texas so that probably plays a role too. But Amazon has it and I'm getting it Tuesday 🤞 no such thing as 2 day shipping to me out here lol

I just decluttered my stash and gave some things over to my sister and niece. They had fun looking through the goods so I’m glad they’re not going to waste. I have to start phasing out fragranced products but hair products are such a challenge! There aren’t any really fragrance free salon hair products (I color treat my hair) and drugstore seems limited as well. Attitude has a seemingly good fragrance free oat shampoo /conditioner, have you tried it? I know you’ve said good things about that brand so am curious if it’s any good.
Some professional brands have fragrance free products, Wella and Philip Kingsley for instance. See if some of those could work for you? But if you’re not bothered by the fragrance, you could keep using what you have.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the new Byoma products. They have a cleansing balm, cleansing oil and eye cream now too. I’m not sure if you w done a brand review, but it would be a useful one!

Miss Andrea i understand you so much and feel the same according the subject that a holy grail of "ours" changed for better (we would wish that but it's a no no no scenario 😂) or for worse (more tangible to the reality realm of ours 😂). Of course I'm referring to the Li effector here in Greece i don't see fragrance in its ingredient list so i still don't know is it ok ? Not written correctly ? Misleading ? So many feelings going on mixing up and yet i don't know the result.
The smell of freshly made coffee ooh man heaven and the sound of pouring it in a mug bliss.
When i cook i prepare all the spices the ingredients and it might look chaotic put when i use them in a right order it's so practical and i don't go and fetch stuff here and there i have them right next to me ready for use.

UPDATE: While shopping at Kroger today, I checked the Dove dandruff shampoo (both formulas) and their matching conditioners for that preservative you spoke of. It was not listed on any of the bottles I checked. 🙂

I'm so sorry but I'm on the East Coast 2 in South Carolina and we are often threatened and affected by what comes from your area. I'm sure you are experiencing the same type of weather that I am so I hope we don't have a very active hurricane season since all seasons seem to be starting early. We had a nasty storm buzz through Ft Worth Thursday evening. We lost power for 8 hours in my neighborhood. And I'm counting my blessings because yesterday, (Saturday) there were still areas that hadn't gotten their power back. 😢
I remember one of the Dove dandruff formulas having the M preservatives when I was looking at physical bottles in-store like a year ago. Not the dryness and itch relief one (which I bought precisely to avoid that preservative) but one of the other formulas.
I got the Degree cherry 🍒 body wash and absolutely love it!! I wish I knew it was going to disappear so quick, bc I would have gotten a back-up. I want to try the Dove one and the body scrub…it smells so good but the Degree was definitely my favorite!!

It’s just a really nice, authentic smelling cherry scent and if you want to layer it after the shower with other cherry scented lotions, fragrances, etc…it works well with that. But it’s definitely not an incredibly strong long lasting body wash. It’s comparable to BBW body wash scents imo. If you’re incredibly sensitive to fragrance though, you might find it to be to much. I love fragrance and the stronger the better lol…but I wouldn’t classify this as really strong and long lasting

The Dove one would be a great second choice…I haven’t tried it yet, but from smelling it in the store…it also has a really nice Cherry scent…that’s close to the Degree. If you’re also looking for a light cherry scent…the new fragrance line from Target Fine’ry, has a beautiful body spray that isn’t overpowering, but smells beautiful!! It’s on the level imo of Tom Ford Lost Cherry, but so much less expensive lol

There are like four different Dove Dandruff shampoos, two of them have Methylisothiazolinone, the "Coconut and Hydration" and "Soothing Moisture" for example have very different ingredients list than the one you were using.
I'm going to look for that Dove shampoo/conditioner but will double check the label before I buy.
I just got a new Olay moisturizer and I know you don’t like them but I love it! As long as I apply it to a damp face I don’t get any film left over ☺️ I didn’t have many options for cheaper stuff though due to some allergies!

Howdy Dr.Dray and everyone on this wonderful Saturday! Gee, you stopped just short of mentioning the Pantene rose scented shampoo. I have it but I haven't tried it yet. Complimentary gift with something I ordered. Enjoy the video, so relaxing when compared to the trial that we were bombarded with here. Speaking of collagen, I'm reminded of someone I worked with who said that she had a collagen buildup in her skin which was why in her 50s she didn't have any wrinkles but it sounded as though it was something that had to be treated. Have you ever heard of such? Is that some type of disorder? I guess I was a little jealous that she had that because who wouldn't want a whole bunch of extra collagen. Maybe she misunderstood her physician but she did have very smooth, tight, and wrinkle free skin even when emoting.🤔☺

Some days I want something moisturizing, another day I want something mattefying, another day I want tinted, next day I want something water proof, I like to carry a stick spf in my gym bag. I'll definitely go through them all, but it looks like I have a problem 😄

You're missing the metabolic benefit of cold. I lost 20 lbs incorporating cold showers daily into my routine. Increases brown fat. First time in my life wasn't always freezing cold in the winter months.

So glad you brought up the li effector new formula, I thought it was all my imagination when I tried the new packaging version and felt it different! I managed to get the old formulae and am sticking to it.
That's weird. My Dove shampoo and conditioner doesn't have those methyl preservatives either. Maybe they got old bottles. 🤔

The weekend is here!!!🎉🎉 quick question…is there any difference between the gel tretinoin and the cream? I just started using and I got the gel from my dermatologist but see you using a cream
If I recall correctly from years back, I believe she said the cream was more suitable for dry skin. Nevertheless I purchased the cream but I also used adapalene first and that is in gel form. Didn't make my skin feel any different one way or another but perhaps I have normal skin as opposed to oily or dry. I'm just assuming because we're all getting older everyday that my skin should be headed toward dry.
The gel is less greasy and sometimes preferable for those with oily skin

Re Vitamin E. I am a recent convert to your videos so I don't know if you have ever addressed vitamin E and warts. About 55 years ago I had a wart on the bottom of my heel. I could not walk on it, which lead to me being in a very foul mood, which lead to my being a nightmare to live with. All of the available remedies seemed undesirable, so I turned to my favourite nutrition expert, Adelle Davis. (Google her if you have not heard of her.) She wrote a lot about the effects of nutrition on skin. Her advice was to pierce a vitamin E capsule with a pin, squeeze the contents onto a bandage, and apply the bandage to the wart. Change the bandage every 2-3 days, with a fresh application of E. I don't remember exactly how long it took, but it was weeks not days. The wart was gradually replaced with healthy skin and I have never had another problem with warts. I have stopped talking about this, because people tend to be skeptical. BUT IT WORKED. It is necessary to be consistent, perhaps for 4-6 weeks, but for me it was better than some of the drastic methods available at the time. I would do it again today.
Dr Dray Slays! Ok here is a question: a lot of MUAs a few years ago came out with this 'life saving' tip about mixing oil with foundation to make it look luminous. They mention jojoba specifically and I think vitamin E as well. Wouldn't straight up oil really mess with a foundation's efficacy if it contains SPF?? Please advise, and thank you!
I agreed with that gel lotion sunscreen it's a mess when you try to spread it.
Maybe the dove you have is a newer batch, because i do recall dove shampoos having the isothiazolinones as predervatives before. Maybe checking the expiration dates of the bottles solves the riddle hahahah

Trying to find that exact shampoo has been difficult, for me at least. The one you mentioned says Hypoallergenic on the front of the bottle. That specific one isn't carried at my "local" Target or Walmart. Could only find via your link to Amazon.
So I ordered it from the Amazonian and can't wait to try it!

Online Walmart has the specific one from Feb Raves and Rejects video (on the front of the bottle the colors are white section, brown bar that says Hypoallergenic fragrance, then gold section- I had to zoom in the video to see the specific coloring and hunt for that, if that makes sense) for $12.95 + $5.99 shipping. I'm not a plus member though so that might make a difference, and I live in far west Texas so that probably plays a role too.
But Amazon has it and I'm getting it Tuesday 🤞 no such thing as 2 day shipping to me out here lol

I just decluttered my stash and gave some things over to my sister and niece. They had fun looking through the goods so I’m glad they’re not going to waste. I have to start phasing out fragranced products but hair products are such a challenge! There aren’t any really fragrance free salon hair products (I color treat my hair) and drugstore seems limited as well. Attitude has a seemingly good fragrance free oat shampoo
/conditioner, have you tried it? I know you’ve said good things about that brand so am curious if it’s any good.
Some professional brands have fragrance free products, Wella and Philip Kingsley for instance. See if some of those could work for you? But if you’re not bothered by the fragrance, you could keep using what you have.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the new Byoma products. They have a cleansing balm, cleansing oil and eye cream now too. I’m not sure if you w done a brand review, but it would be a useful one!
I don't think she's done a brand review but she does have a couple of shop with me videos where she talks about some of them. Dr. Idriss has one of the products in her teen skincare video.
