    Ever since they mostly revamped the quest from the old flyff into universe, questing makes it worth! If you want to gain bonus exp/penya/gears, please do the quest because grinding alone make it even tedious and boring sometimes at least for me. Great video!

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  10 месяцев назад

      Some people definitely split hairs in this topic but atleast for me, questing is a nice accompaniment to the leveling adventure and kind of encourages making small bite-size goals out of the leveling experience instead of just dreading the maximum level, like "I need to reach x level to continue this questline." Definitely worth it if one's cool with questing! :)

    1. if mob A gives you 0.5% with a 10 sec kill time and mob B 0.3% with a 5sec kill time, mob A is probably more efficient since you also have to calculate your time walking from mob to mob after each kill, if your melee it gets even worse. So yeah a bad example. 2. There is always a correct path to EQ, taking slayer as example,after 100atk speed and a good hit rate you can always do the math on what gives you more dps wether it might be more CD or STR since at certain CD str will gives you a higher dmg boost. But you can do the math, there ALWAYS is ONLY 1 correct answer.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  2 месяца назад

      I think I did state somewhere along the example that you should also take your travel time between mobs into account so best efficiency isn't always the best route, but if I did not declare that then I did make a horrible mistake. My bad :(
      There's definitely also only one true answer to what combination of stats deals the most damage, there's no taking that away. Not sure if I made a contradiction anywhere on the video about that (it's been a while), but I think the same as well ^^

    • @FreezingFx

      @@emenalus 1. Just something along test wich works best iirc but i might be mistaken there. 2. You definitly said more than once that there are many ways to stat your char&eq while going for the same class & role ( obviosly AoE might differ from 1o1 incase of assists e.g. ) _ Anyways, have a nice day mate :)

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  2 месяца назад

      @@FreezingFx Ohh yeah, the many ways to stat your characters was definitely meant more in the direction that you can suit a character for any playstyle which makes the game quite intriguing. However when committing to a certain playstyle, maths is definitely gonna go a long way in determining what stats are gonna matter the most - but this isn't something that should be discussed in a beginner-oriented guide :) I do also think I mentioned the importance of speed stat due to the amount of travelling done in-between kills, which becomes increasingly important of you kill fast! Thanks for the clarification, you have a nice day too

    I have been checking out the Game recently, and so far it's pretty fun - Mostly for Nostalgic reasons. I played the game as a kid, long long time ago - Back when you had to use your Skills to increase their Level, and Skill Points weren't a thing. I think that was...Version 4-6 or something? Back then I played a Billposter, Knight and Bowjester - Going with an AoE Ranger this time. Hope I don't regret it, because Ill be solo and free2play :')

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  10 месяцев назад +1

      Ohh my, you're a REAL legacy player then! Not many actually call themselves out to play from the times when skills were leveled, but there are those cases too - Welcome back to the game! :D
      Don't worry, I think AoE Ranger should work just fine even for an F2P ;D If solo means no tagalong RM of any sorts though, kiting mobs can be a bit troublesome without Quick Step, but Fast Walker and Hit and Run tactic should steer you clear of trouble! And even if AoE didn't work out for you, it'd be easy to just focus on becoming a 1v1 Ranger instead. They're very solo friendly and kick ass too!!
      My only personal pet peeve with AoE Ranger is that pulling too many can cause the mobs starting to run away even if you kept hitting them constantly, so the pack sizes often times aren't the best. But it still gets the job done, you should find a working medium pretty quickly!
      Enjoy your return to Flyff Universe, and let me know if anything troubles you! ^^

      @@emenalus Haha, yes - I have some very fond memories from back in the day. Coming home from school, first thing launching up Flyff and slogging through the grind. I distinctly remember killing Rockepeller for DAYS because they could drop Plug Earrings which made really good money back then. Even made a Mage, just to farm them because it was easier than with a Melee Class. Back then I could barely speak English, as it's not my native language - So that certainly didn't help either. Trying out the PK Channels, ending up on the Prison Island etc.
      I also remember the 1st Job Quests to be much longer originally, I think they might have changed those. And yep, going to be completely solo - though I am considering leveling up an Assist along the way to at least provide me with some buffs.
      And thanks, I appreciate the help! For now I'm mostly struggling with the value of items, since I have no idea if what I find is worth anything. I doubt it, since if I remember correctly, everything below Level 30 was Vendor Trash, except maybe the Dice. I remember the Level 45 Sets to be really popular, especially for Acrobat and Assist.
      I do have one minor issue so far though, maybe you can help me with that. Whenever I play the Game, it absolutely KILLS my RUclips Speed, which is super weird. At first I thought it's my Internet Speed in General because it's now Browser Based, but No. Amazon Videos, other Websites and Speed Checks are all working fine. Not having this issue with any other Mmorpg I play either, just Flyff, and just RUclips. Any Idea what this might be? :x

      @@DungeonsAndDerps That's fine, I'm pretty sure many of us have a story or two to share from our past! :)
      15 sets are actually quite underwhelming, but even the 30 sets can fetch top coin in the current economy. The set effects have been changed drastically from the original, so using Flyffipedia to check those out can be helpful! Getting to also know the market can be quite difficult at first, but just observe the other stores and see what they put the stuff up for for a rough idea of their value.
      As for your browser problem, atleast with Google Chrome you should make sure in the settings that hardware acceleration is on! You might also wanna make sure that you haven't enabled the setting that limits the resources used by a tab not on focus. Might be a good idea to take a quick rundown of any browser's settings and if problems persist, trying a different browser. Not all of them work quite well with Flyff :)

    I personally started playing ranger 1v1, and made rm fs for her. Ranger 1v1 are considerably easy to multitask with since the higher level you reach, the more tankier and quicker they become. They also have rather fast attack to attack red named flanking mobs that spawn too close to your ringmaster. Not that reviving rm is crazy necessary priority when that happens, but it does help solve the small headaches when it comes for minor setbacks. Only problem with 1v1 ranger is that they aren't particularly easy to use on dungeons due the space in dungeon being often rather narrow roaded except Envy caverns, making HnR very challenging for ranger 1v1 who wishes to use a shortcut on leveling up to widen the lvl gap with ringmaster.
    Albeit in my opinion the level gap shouldn't matter too much, as long as rm is below level of ranger.

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  8 месяцев назад

      Rangers are overall pretty nice because they're a versatile class suitable for just about anything with a full DEX build and still pack a pretty god punch :) Being a Ranger main currently myself, I can agree that Rangers are quick to react with aggros and it's very convenient as they usually also keep the monster away with their frequent crits!
      My experience with running my Ranger in dungeons is that HnR doesn't really seem to work anyway. Despite the rule where hitting monsters should keep their interest onto you and run away, for some reason even with frequent spellcasting the monsters would never stick to me. I found facetanking the monsters directly to be the only option, which requires me to have a pretty strong tank set (Oska +8 on me) and constant heals :P Narrow pathways don't really mean much at that point since you're taking all the mobs head-on anyway. Except at the spider boss in Leren Chasm... *shivers*, I hate that boss.
      Ranger or not, one should definitely not be too worried about the level gap between characters as long as the gap doesn't go below the maximum possible, which is 19. Even in contribution EXP, the character doing the dirty work is bound to get more EXP than the RM and get them a few levels ahead, and one shouldn't force it to be the other way because that would just slow you down x)

    Is there a "best class" in this game? I chose magician

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  18 дней назад

      Depends on where you're coming from. Most classes have their strengths and weaknesses and preferred playstyles :)
      If you wanted the inarguably best 1v1 DPS, you should be going for Mercenary > Blade. That being said, they're melee, fairly brittle and don't have much in the way of extra toolkit unlike Assist > Billposter, with their own stuns and compatibility for solo play through self-buffing.
      You could also consider versatility to be your most prominent value, in which case I'd recommend giving Acrobat > Ranger a go. Pretty good at everything that they do, including 1v1, AoE kiting or even facetanking with the right gear, topped with ranged playstyle. Ranger is also one of the crit-focused build characters which build up lots of crit rate early on which in itself can be something a player is looking for, only second to the Acrobat > Jester which takes up early game 1v1 by a storm. However they're not able to compete with other 1v1ers later down the line due to crit becoming more available to them as well, but a nice early game leveler :D
      Magician is a class that does incredible damage when first starting off but spell scaling and the absence of critical hits makes them fall behind on 1v1 pretty quickly. Advanced jobs of Magicians have to rely on AoE kiting or facetanking pretty much as soon as they're able if they want to keep up with others in terms of leveling speed. But they're strong in that regard, and with Elementors for example they get to fully utilize elements as part of their toolkit!
      Needless to say, there isn't really a clear answer what's the "best class", but if you asked which was the most popular, it'd definitely be the Blade. However this also reflects on their price tag, making them the most expensive class to build. If you've got anything else you want to ask about this matter, feel free to come to me anytime! ^^

    what class to start with as a newbie? easy leveling wise

    • @emenalus
      @emenalus  9 месяцев назад +1

      If I had to pick the most reliable classes to level with starting out, I would pick Magicians and Bow Acrobats. Magicians are strong regardless of what budget you have, just max out a spell and start blasting x) Bow Acrobats are simple and still pretty consistent with basic gear, but definitely sees a lot of potential and versatility in the later game if you eventually get your hands on some penya!
      Another solo-friendly option would be to play an Assist, and there's two ways to go about it - 1v1 auto attack or Moon Beam Assist. Basic 1v1 Assist will be a little rough in the beginning without gear. But at latest at level 30 you can use your own buffs to supplement for stats that you're lacking like Haste for Attack Speed and Accuracy for Hit Rate, making the character pretty reliable to play with even with a low budget :> You can also become a Moon Beam Assist, simply building INT and using the Moon Beam spell to kill off enemies. This is especially strong at early levels, and you can double as a support Assist with this if you're interested in that. Learn Mental Sign for added spellpower ;D
      Lastly, Most AoE classes are fast to level, but managing AoE itself is a learning curve and up to one's preferences. If you do like AoE though, just about any option that suits you the best will do! :)
      Hope this helps, and if you wish to learn more about any of these options, feel free to shoot up another question. Good luck and have fun with leveling in Flyff!

      @emenalus  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah, leveling can be really difficult especially at first since you got no stats whatsoever. You're lacking in every department x) My advice would be to pick a class that relies on skills like Magician, Moon Beam Assist, AoE Mercenary/Assist (They learn their AoEs at level 30 and 28 respectively). Alternatively if you're interested in learning a specific class, you should probably look into any of my class guides that matches your needs and go from there. Auto-attack type characters are pretty rough at first, but usually they should already be viable to play with around their 30s in their own ways, such as stats, buffs and set effects ^^ I wish you luck with finding the path most suitable for you, and don't hesitate to direct me more questions! :>

      I would also recommend keeping your eyes open for a Layered/Miracle set available at 30 - this is the best set to go for until you become a Ranger, and the full set will give you a nice impact in crit chance and attack speed! :P Also as I mention in the video, it's only optional but you could either consider making yourself a second account to act as your support for convenience or find some company to play with in the future. • @emenalus
      @emenalus  9 месяцев назад +2

      Whether it's worth to play as F2P or not really depends on who you ask. Do you have the persistence to deal with the difficulties? Patience to reach your goals slowly and not consider the easy way out (=spending)? Enough time to consider yourself progressing enough in order to be satisfied? And most importantly, are you competitive and want to be at the very top, or are you fine with just being a regular player? :)
      Really, F2P approach is "worth it" always if your mentality suits for it. But it's not for everyone, you'll see people who will exclaim spending to be a must. But you can make that decision yourself - I'm an F2P, I have a bunch of characters in the 80s-90s and I'm enjoying the game, much more than I would as a spender. Whichever approach you prefer though, there's nothing wrong with either ^^

      Flyff is a fundamentally different MMO in the way that it doesn't actually have strict end-game content. The game puts most of its emphasis on the leveling experience and whatever you do at higher levels is pretty much the same you would do at early levels, except a lot harder and with greater rewards, of course. Dungeons for example aren't strictly endgame but instead have brackets like for levels 31-60, 61-90. 91-120 and so on. In other words, there's not exactly end-game content... just game content x)
