I’m Hispanic and I think the same. Where I live, when I was a kid, it was the ghetto. Mostly Mexican/chicano community. It was almost daily we had drive by, murders, drugs rampant, the worst of the worst. Fast forward 25-30 years, gentrification arrives. Now mostly white people live here and it’s a lot safer than when it was a Hispanic neighborhood. And a lot quieter too. Sadly, I always get the accusation that I’m a race traitor. It’s very hard, almost impossible to get Hispanics to reason.
Hispanics who adopt the victim mentality of blacks will lose. Hispanics who keep stable families, start businesses, work good jobs and stay out of crime, will win. I'm Hispanic and lived most of my life involved in gang culture and terrorized my community. Now I'm a grown man with 4 sons. I'm ashamed of the things I exposed them to growing up. Since then we went from the most Christian and married demographic in the US to the least married and highest incidence of single mother households. And our income per capita has been declining every year since the late 1970s when blue cities ramped up redlining rendering the Civil Rights act useless. Libya (before the illegal NATO invasion) is an example of how great we can be. Fastest growing economy in the world from 1987 to 2011, 24 consecutive years. Free education, healthcare, utilities, higher literacy rate than the US, England and Germany etc. Now compare that to "diverse" Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit... it's a complete contrast.

WHAT !! Well, as an older white person living in Toronto, Canada, I'm just glad to have moral support like this. I can't believe it. Thank you! Since the 1980's when Premier of Ontario Bob Rae decreed that city jobs were only to be given to races other than white, we white people in Ontario have been second class and as of today so many, many years later we are third class here or less. So I almost feel like crying just to hear this man Jesse Lee Peterson support the self esteem of white people. It's a wonderful feeling. Thank you again!

Now its all shootings and stabbings. Something sure changed. When I drive up the 401 and stop at those rest stops, it looks like United Nations meetings at those rest stops now. Which was a radical change from several years before driving up when it was still mostly white.
You probably wouldn't be saying this if you had an education and a better paying job. As a white man working in the financial district of Toronto, doing very well thank you. I believe in loving all and equal opportunity for all. You get the job based on your skills, credentials and character, nothing to do with race.

Even if the a white man is the most qualified,if that company has hit that percentage of white people, or white men hired, they have to give preference to non white people after a certain point. I'm a retired partner in a mechanical contracting business employing a yearly average of 300 people in several trades. We entered into many contracts with Federal Agencies and Municipalities where they all had requirements for minority workers' "boots on the ground". If we did not meet the quota, we were penalized a percentage of the contract price. We were signatory to several unions and paid wages of $86.00 per hour in 2017 when I retired. We could not beg, borrow, or steal black minority tradesmen so we had no choice but to add penalties to our contract bid prices like our competition was also doing. Why, oh why, are there so few black minority tradesmen in the construction industry (electricians, plumbers, pipefitters, sheet metal workers, fire sprinkler workers, etc.) when the pay and benefits are so lucrative?
Because they only represent 15% of the population….

Contractors that are fortunate enough to have them in their workforce will go out of their way to keep them employed because the demand is so high for them in the union sector. For an even greater example, our city has a MANDATORY requirement that not only must a contractor have black tradesmen working in the trades on municipal job sites, but they must also be CITY RESIDENT. Contractors must provide certified payroll evidence and the job sites are subject to visits and interviews from the workers by City Administrators. Of course, if these requirements are not met...the contractor is fined a percentage of the contract value.

A lot of the people that have lots of degrees are sheltered and have no practical experience, most of them did not grow up in the hood or suffered real life experiences like the commoners. I know plenty of people like that and that make the most unwise decisions in life, its ridiculous. I am also a person with a degree that never used it. May God bless these men and this country, I am Latina and I totally agree with what he says.

One thing I admired most about old school black people is no matter their hardships and struggles they never blamed God. They sang his praises even louder.
