Relax? Picked it in one. Ok so too obvious to tell you to relax and enjoy yourself, hmm, how about, "the best way for you to relax on your wooden boat is to sit and drink beer with the loving memory of your pup Geordie, all the while preparing for some extensive cruising one day? " Yes I think that works. I'll enjoy looking forward to the upper deck restoration.
Wow, I've never seen a street full of garages in the water for boats to park in. So cool, we need that in Australia, I'd never go home. A great place to "relax" as you work in a garage. I'd never go home.
As much as I adore Geordie I am very impressed with Poems manoeuvre ability she looks such fun. Scotty (oops sorry, I know he doesn’t like it) Scott is surely a party animal, I really don’t think you are going to get much RELAXation with him around. What a fantastic boat facility. I’m sure we don’t have anything like that in UK. Have fun Peter.
Watching you walk in to the pilot house of M/V Geordi from the aft cabin really illustrates how palatial she is compared to the cozy POEM. Great episode, excited to see progress on the flybridge of M/V Geordi!
Enjoyed the video! Every time we plan a relaxing boating weekend it turns into another boat project. Turns out the best way to relax is working on a classic boat! My old trawler and I both turn 44 this year.
I was a little too relaxed when I first moored an old wooden fantail trawler I was restoring in a boat house and totally forgot about the mast. I spent a good three days repairing the mast while I apologized to that old beautiful boat. Just making memories!! Thanks for helping keep wood boat traditions alive.
Well Peter got in a nice nap while you were on So had to wake up and enjoy the video it was superb the music and the long Cruise Relaxed me wonderfully
That’s a good selection of Nautical Paper Charts in MV Poem. Nice to see in this world of digital navigation. Thanks for another great episode, enjoy your time relaxing (had to get that word in somehow 🙂)
When you started the day you started for Maple bay on the roof, I thought how much you must look forward to being able to steer from up there, as well! Nice drone shots in Maple bay! So, I hope you had enough time to relax at maple bay to gather enough strength for your work! CU next week!
Thanks for the introduction to those jet skis. What an adventure that must be, one to add to the list. Just the other day here I sat down to relax and watched the world go by as boats sailed past me in the estery and I thought to myself wouldn't it be great to get back on the water.
Most of my life I have lived on the piscataqua river. This borders Maine and New Hampshire it is the seventh past is continuous current in the North America it's also the third fastest current for tidal in North America also. I live off the river on a creek called Spruce Creek in Kittery Point Maine during the tides we would get between a 6 to 8 Mi an hour currants both high and low. so when people talk about a 7 to 8 mile a tides this is very normal to me and the people who live there on the piscataqua river there is a spot called The Narrows where the current can raise up to 15 miles an hour on a moon tide .
Peter at 9:40 we see your sweet little dingy. Is that a Ranger Minto? I've got one and just love it!! Fun to row, fun to sail, and even motors nicely too! Awesome little boats! and YES, it's time to get that upper helm into workable condition!
Ran my houseboat under a bridge years ago it looked so big and tall surely there is clearance, snap went the antenna. Pay more attention with a mast up for sure. If it’s raining not better to do than relax. Beautiful out there. I’ll be installing my Beta, been waiting on the oak beds with no parts to connect till now. Pacific beacons.
Rowena, nice looking sailboat. Rowena is also the name of a scenic road in the east Columbia River Gorge. Built in the early 1900s, it has several horseshoe turns clinging to the cliffface. Fun place to ride a motorcycle. Hope you relax well and recharge this week. Always enjoy your videos.
Peter, I often walk around my 28' houseboat while underway 'checking on things - having been prompted by you just now from now on the boat will be in neutral - thanks. Great boat / scenery /commentary keep me coming back
Your docking onto the tank barge and especially entering into the boat dock reminds me of when I touch down into a hanger bay or onto a landing pad with any of my ships, especially my C2 Hercules Starlifter (3460 ton). ;-) I'm sure you realize that my "ships" are fictional spacecraft and if I do have a tough landing I "relax" by viewing the gas giant Crusader from its orbital station (a lot for one word, eh?). ;-D
It looks like you're having fun, plus gratification at your accomplishment. When "Star Citizen" is working correctly (it's in an Alpha stage), I enjoy the life of a "Spacer", doing various work to earn a living. ;-)
Enjoying relaxing all tied up with the boys! Looking forward to the bridge deck renovation. Are you doing another major haul out like last summer? Kitchen and focsle possibly? I’m looking forward to both.
Hey. Peter, you may have already done this but I don’t remember ever hearing you say anything about it but,for your canvases have you soaked them in a mixture of wax and mineral spirits to water proof them?
I had a neighbor named, Rowena. You don't come across that name very often. Wouldn't it be nice to own a boathouse or two? If you could just rustle up a couple of million subscribers...
Wonderful to see 4 woodies rafted up like that... I will be headed down to Elizabeth B for a few days (to relax!) with my youngest and the only kid who still thinks puttering about on an old woodie with dadis still cool...cheers!
Tranquility is what I feel watching this video. Geordie looks good and seems in good hands while you tend to Poem you seem good to Peter.
If you find yourself on Quadra or in Campbell River, come relax and we'll share a beer and chat Land Rovers!
Thankyou Thankyou....yes camaraderie.....living aboard while restoring....even when it's "meh" it's the best....
Thanks so much Annie!
Poem looks like a great place to relax!
Woodwork can be relaxing. So... relax while rebuilding your top deck. LOL
I finally got to relax and watch this episode! Love Poem!! It is just screaming for a new Beta!!
Watching you is how I'm relaxing after yet another day of boat work. It never seems to even come to a middle, let alone and end.
Relax just do it you know when to 'hove to' it ...
Love the music Peter. Thanks
Really enjoyed the the music overlays this week Peter. Enjoy your week deserved relax-ation... Lol cheers
Ah… Today I am relaxed at the helm of a 53’ Hatteras and watching your program in the background. Thanks Peter!
Perfect!
I’m very relaxed anytime I’m watching “Travels with Geordie”.
Relax? Picked it in one. Me too!
Relax and enjoy the ride.
Thanks Peter. You deserve some time to relax.
Wow, I've never seen a street full of garages in the water for boats to park in. So cool, we need that in Australia, I'd never go home. A great place to "relax" as you work in a garage. I'd never go home.
It's pretty cool.
Hope that you have a great summer cruising in the sunshine.
Peter. It is so easy to relax when you’re rafted up, hanging out with your bros , sipping some suds. Be safe. Travel well
Take some time to relax on this adventure.
Best wishes for a relaxing cruise with MV and Ms Zephyrus
Thanks Ivar.

Have fun Peter.
Thanks so much, yes Poem is a blast to drive.
Relax! That is what I always wanted to do after my boat work was done. Then the gods laughed at me and showed me something I hadn't done!😂
So true
Watching you walk in to the pilot house of M/V Geordi from the aft cabin really illustrates how palatial she is compared to the cozy POEM. Great episode, excited to see progress on the flybridge of M/V Geordi!

I loved it at 2:30 when you hit the afterburners
Zoom zoom

Oh jeez. I'm glad I only tickled the rafters with the antenna.
You still have that vibration rattle from the deck and frame, a small rubber gasket would do wonders.
Upcoming project, drives me nuts.
Well Peter got in a nice nap while you were on So had to wake up and enjoy the video it was superb the music and the long Cruise Relaxed me wonderfully
Put you to sleep did I?
@@TravelsWithGeordie ya get some woodworking finished I'll wakey wakey
Cheers! 🍻
I must say Geordies engine seems to enjoy purring along at cruising speed.Time to relax when the boat is tied fast and it’s rum and coke time!
Thanks Mark. Lot's of rattles to iron ouy.
Just relax Peter, It will all be fine.
Relax, take it easyyyyyyyyyy
Relax.
We are enjoined to relax,
Ourselves not to tax.
I’m happy to comply,
I’ll work bye and bye.
To take it handy,
Suits fine and dandy.
Love it, love it, love it as always John!
The last shot is great! Standing in the dingy, little bit of fog... Beautiful shot! Have a fantastic time! If it rains, you get to do have fun too!
RELAX
okay-we're going to use that for our WORDLE opener tomorrow!
Wish us luck!

M/V saint Brigid
Yeah, we all get to relax by watching you take on more projects...and now a second boat too! Amazing, but I guess doing what you love is relaxation.
Keep at it but it’s also time to Relax
That’s a good selection of Nautical Paper Charts in MV Poem. Nice to see in this world of digital navigation. Thanks for another great episode, enjoy your time relaxing (had to get that word in somehow 🙂)
Real charts are so nice!
Uh oh looks like there will be plenty of time to relax if the weather stays like that
Yes, dangit!
Never mind perhaps some inside jobs then
Thanks for the air shot--shows off the LOVELY sweeping flare of Rowena's bow lines! Gorgeous!
When you started the day you started for Maple bay on the roof, I thought how much you must look forward to being able to steer from up there, as well!
Nice drone shots in Maple bay!

Hey just find another stick and you can have a stern thruster.

Yes it is! But the later Rich Passage version. We have two, both with sailing rig. Love them!

Ooooh you must be excited!
3 years or protracted out of area work, seeing the end!
wonderful video. A+
That rattle would drive me nuts
Me too, To be dealt with soon.

Great episode as usual!
Peter, I often walk around my 28' houseboat while underway

Great boat / scenery /commentary keep me coming back
Thanks Gary
2:44 And here I was, trying to scrape away the dirt from the top left corner of my iPhone screen…🥴
Ahh, heh!
Sure acts like the transmission in Poem is lazy at an idle. Almost like the pressure is not building enough at low rpm's to hold the clutches in.
Yes, it's actually getting worse. I tried some snake oil but no real benefit.
@@TravelsWithGeordie Just add it to the never ending list. Just another boat thing. Time for a new clutch and pump kit.
👍!!!

When "Star Citizen" is working correctly (it's in an Alpha stage), I enjoy the life of a "Spacer", doing various work to earn a living. ;-)
In reality, decades ago (1980?), I almost bought a SeaCamper houseboat.
Are you allowed to use the boat house for your own brightwork on Geordie? Could save some weather angst,
and save you some time for more relaxing .
I could, but it's not even quite big enough for Poem.
With all that work you have planned how will you ever relax?
Good question.
Time to visit the pound Pete. 🐶
Not for a while I'm afraid. Upcoming travel plans wouldn't work. I have some lovely dogs in my life though.
I am in the Bimini "like" camp on Geordie . Very functional and for some reason has a Japanese ? look to it in my opinion .
Enjoying relaxing all tied up with the boys! Looking forward to the bridge deck renovation. Are you doing another major haul out like last summer? Kitchen and focsle possibly? I’m looking forward to both.
No haulout this summer. Galley will be next winter.
Is Rowena an Island Clipper 44?
I may have missed it, but what is your cruisiing speed. And what is your diesel consumption? Thanks
About a gallon an hour at 6.5 knots.
Nice drone footage, although I wouldn’t relax while I worried about clearing those masts! Does your drone provide altitude data ?
Thx
Yes it does, but I just do a clearance test pass first.
Hey. Peter, you may have already done this but I don’t remember ever hearing you say anything about it but,for your canvases have you soaked them in a mixture of wax and mineral spirits to water proof them?
They're just cheap painter's drop cloths. Plastic on one side so already waterproof.
what is happening with diesel fuel prices?
Gouge some gouge a little more till their poor blame it on the war.
$2.10 CDN
Transmission is slipping in forward on a poem.
Yes, it's actually getting worse. I tried some snake oil but no real benefit.
I saw some grey smoke behind your stern....are you sure your diesel is clean?
Probably steam from the cooling system.
Yes, it's fine, just a little steam from the heat exchanger.
Exactly Webb
Where is your life-jacket?
Hanging by the door. I'm working on always wearing it while outside singlehanding.
I had a neighbor named, Rowena. You don't come across that name very often.
Wouldn't it be nice to own a boathouse or two? If you could just rustle up a couple of million subscribers...
I dream about it.
You need an autopilot
Wonderful to see 4 woodies rafted up like that... I will be headed down to Elizabeth B for a few days (to relax!) with my youngest and the only kid who still thinks puttering about on an old woodie with dadis still cool...cheers!
