Coleman military surplus has free shipping today on orders over 49 dollars. I usually don't order because the shipping in expensive. Few big items not included.
Will check it out now, thanks cris
@@PracticalPreparedness ur welcome
I have always heard the 10 c's. other 5 would be : cotton bandana, compass, cargo tape, cloth sail needle and candling device. :). but thats a great little bag to have as an EDC!! I wish I could get the rest of my family to carry at least that, but they fight me lol thanks for your vidoes!!
Yes, the 5 C’s are only the core of the 10. I think he came up with 5, then 10 later, not 100%. Thanks for adding these
@@PracticalPreparedness in all fairness he made up names for the last 5. Hahah. I mean candling devise?? Not easy to remember 😊
Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you for all your videos. I'm sooo greatful for all of them. Please keep them coming! One of my son's is starting to listen to me about these things because of your videos, so please please keep them coming. Happy Holidays and God bless 💜💜🕊️
You are so welcome!
I am impressed that this video mentioned caution with the tourniquets….used incorrectly, they can do more harm than good, and there are often other ways to control bleeding.
And a YT comment is not medical advice, but don’t believe the TV and movie trope that the best things to do with any wound is to immediately stitch them shut in the woods. Makes a great movie scene, but a terrible idea. Wounds can typically heal just fine from the sides by themselves (just leaves a bit bigger mark when healed) and before closing any wound you have to make sure it’s super clean, with prolonged sterile saline rinses and other cleaning. Otherwise, you just seal a bunch of bacteria in a nice warm pocket, and can get serious and very difficult to treat infections.
Excellent, excellent advice. Thank you for sharing
Just when I thought your channel couldn't get any better, you show one of my favorite blades! I'll leave you guessing which one.🤣🤣 Thanks for another great video.
lol, great knives. Thanks for your support
I try to take advantage of the sales, got a few items that were honestly upgrades on existing items that I wouldn't have been able to afford not in a sale this year. Most outdoor stuff does get used pretty often so don't feel bad about that. One group of things not mentioned that I might have another look into this week, I've seen a couple of sales on online book sites. Their cost can soon add up, especially with some reference books. Yes, the knives do seem to multiply by themselves!
lol, knives and backpacks I cant help myself. Sales help. Thanks for watching!
A couple of different sized bandaids will go a long way with no real space needed! NAZDRAVYA a Stasna vianoce or simply put "have a great healthy and happy holidays!
Nice, thank you!
A U.S. military poncho and liner are good to have. On that Bic lighter it's best to remove the child guard, it will make it easier to strike with gloves on and if it should get wet easier to dry out.
One of the best options if you ask me. Thanks for sharing
Wool socks
Take care of your feet! Good add
The Gerber LMF2, Auto 06 and MP600 make the perfect trifecta.
Thanks for sharing these!
Thanks Justin! Such a gr8 no nonsense to the point video'! Wish you would post more often! Thanks for your videos!
Thanks Tao!
One thing about Bic lighters is that they don't work very well in the cold. The cheap, clear, plastic, multi-colored "crack lighters" actually work better. Take it from a smoker in Minnesota.
Thanks for the share! And for watching
Like your content. Good stuff. Oh by the way. Get that bonsai tree outside. Lol
Lol, thanks!
Esee is doing a sale right now. I picked up the Esee 6. Great knife for the price.
I have too many Esee to mention lol. Thanks for adding and news on the sale!
Thank you, as always : ))
Thank you!
have a good christmas PP.
also, clippers are good lighters as they are refillable. :)
You too fyrefly! Thanks for the add
I enjoy your focus on the basic preps to have on hand. However, I disagree with a tourniquet being the minimum carry for medical. Tourniquets are the best job for controlling blood loss in the limbs, but they completely useless if the blood loss is from the torso or the neck. I am no EMT or medic, but I think bleeding from those areas should be included in the minimum carry for medical issues. I think you should add compressed gauze to the minimum medical carry. I understand that you said 'minimum', but a lonely tourniquet does not cover enough potential sources of hemorrhaging to be a minimum medical carry.
Overall, I enjoyed the video. You picked up a sub today.
I think a fold would be fantastic for this purpose in case you need to pack a wound. Certain pressure bandages in some cases too. Thanks for the add
Moras are great for their price and size. But you have to know how to take care of a knife. Couldn't you make a tourneqet (sp) from paracord?
You can make a pressure bandage with clothing etc, I wouldn’t say a tourniquet, needs lots of targeted pressure. A belt, maybe. Nothing will perform as well with the amount of control as a tourniquet though
When a tourniquet is needed, it is needed quickly. Somebody could bleed out in the extra time it takes to make the tourniquet. It would also be an inferior device when made under stress (fine motor skills suck with adrenaline pumping).
When you buy a Grayl purifier , do you need to clean or prep it before use?
Really enjoy your no nonsense approach!
That’s right. The grayls are ready to go. They just don’t last as long as other filters, but they filter out more than the sawyers. Pros and cons
No prep before use, unlike a berkey where you have to prime etc. thanks for watching!
Don't need 10 knives... but I carry 5. Have 9 Moras, several Gerbers, several SAK clones, many other mini folders, several handmade fixed blades and a couple others. Do I need them; no. But I have several kits: EDC, GHB, BOB, Bushcraft camping, hiking, survival etc. I have several knives in each kit. Different knives have different uses.
Amen. Diff knives for diff kits/purposes.
The cold steel is the S R K Survival Rescue Knife sk5 is the steel stopping the video at that point.
Did I misspeak? Cold Steel does make the SRK yes
@@PracticalPreparednesssome people are so proud and jumpy at little things lol.

99% of people need a cell phone to get home....###-#### hello uber.
Very scary realization will be getting home or out of dodge if no power, cell towers, or fried electronics. Let’s say it all works, doesn’t help much if roads are impassible due to broken down cars or folks that like to run their vehicles on E.
Really great add!
