This would make for a really cool Payday 2 soundtrack mod if you used this part as the buildup theme, and the actual release song as the Assault portion.

this sounds like one of those "low key" versions of the standard metal gear rising revengeance fight music but for half life

The original is a cacophony of chaos where everything happens all at once. This is more insidious, an unstoppable force unendingly powering forward.

I guess this is a reupload but I remember a really funny comment on the original saying like "the Scientist is like oh my God what have we done, the guard can face anything and Ivan knows he's seen too much and is having a PTSD episode"

if you listen to it at 0.5% speed it sounds like weird puzzle music.
0.75 sounds like a more action packed puzzle music
I love how much more upbeat and fun this one is compared to the one we got. That one sounds much more hostile and reminiscent of the active warzone feel you get in later levels, which has it's own appeal but this one has an appeal all of it's own.
I prefer the old one
If we look at it standalone, this one matches the final.
Where they are used though, the final surpasses this.

I personally sort of like this track over the one used in the retail release, but it does show off a more 90’s feel. I’m making a game and I’m listening to various game tracks to see what they go for. Most of them rely on both the track itself and the environment to blend well together.
