    Cabo is still a great place but you should of seen it in the 60's. My dad was a Piper dealer and our family of 9 flew to Cabo every winter from Spokane Washington. There was just one hotel there then. The Hacienda Cabo San Lucas. It was a beautiful place. The dirt airstrip was where the marina is now. Small town with about 1200 very friendly residents. We usually stayed for 10 days. The sport fishing was out of this world then. No tv, no radio, no cruise ships.... just peace and quiet. 🍹🏜🏝🍸

      Hey Trout! Good to hear from you again. Great question! The tension starts a few hours before maneuvering and lasts for a few after. Sometimes my butt is clinched for so long that I can’t feel my feet. I know it’s a mind game and in time I will displace my fear with confidence and a history of competent performance. I go SLOW. A wise skipper once told me “don’t go any faster than you want to hit something” Proportional bow and stern thrusters for the win!

    Just found your channel - looks good! Have to say that I think you may get problems with the forward posts of your hammocks. I think they will require tying back from the tops - forward with wire stays. Just keep an eye on them, and keep it in mind.

    Fantastic show! I am aiming to buy a Nordhavn by the end of this year, second hand is fine by me. If you know of any seller with a boat over 55 ft I would be grateful if you could let me know their contact details.

    • @ridingdragon
      @ridingdragon  2 года назад

      Thanks Ian!! I love this boat and the Nordhavn community. Who at Nordhavn are you talking to? The best deals happen off market and most boats have a waiting list of interested buyers. The process of finding the right one might take a bit so start early. I worked with Eric Leishman and would do it again exactly the same. If your not working with someone call him.

    Love the Hammock set up and the boat overall. Question though on the engines. In my mind I would prefer twin engines and I'll admit I am not overly familiar with the "get home" engine set up. How comfortable are you open ocean traversing with a single main engine?

    • @ridingdragon
      @ridingdragon  2 года назад +1

      Hi Thomas, thanks for the question. I am completely comfortable with the "wing engine". It too is a John Deere and it will power the boat at 5.5 knots for thousands of miles as well as run the stabilizers. This arrangement works in perfect harmony and efficiency I will be crossing the Pacific and Atlantic in the coming years. Thanks for watching!
