  • Being some of the most affordable ADV tires on the market currently, I had to give the Tusk 2 Track a try. I'll take you on a quick ride and just mention a few of my first thoughts on the tire.
    I plan on keeping these on the Tenere 700 until they are ready to swap.

    I got to mount and ride the new Tusk 2Tracks today and I have to say I really enjoyed them. The sidewalls are really stiff but I changed both tires by hand like I always do (I do have a cheap Harbor Freight stand for breaking beads). It was a bit hard to get the sides to seat the bead but that is a problem I’ve had with every tubeless tire I’ve ran on this bike. I live in north Georgia and to give an idea of terrain, I mixed in a bit of it all today. Lots of narrow chopped up paved twisties, gravel forest roads, some washboards, packed dirt. In my opinion the rear hooked up every bit as good as the Motoz Adv. And the front I actually liked better than the Anakee Wild in the dirt. On pavement the front felt kind of sluggish to turn in but you get used to it. All in all I think I’ve found my tires for $225 shipped per set. Very happy with them.

      Thank you for the comment and letting us know your thoughts on the tires.
      Never ran Anakees before and I was actually looking for MotOz Tractionator ADV’s before I found these pop up in a random video on my feed.
      The MotOz were $385 for the set, the Tusk looked beefy and for $210 definitely worth a try.
      Glad I pulled the trigger on them. 🍻

    Look into the Baja No Pinch Tire Tool. Great tire installer tool for the garage and trail, and not too expensive.

    Thanks for the review! I havent tried using a clamp to squeeze a tire into center rim.
    Looks like a good idea. I have some new AX-41's to wear out but will try a set of these next.

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  7 месяцев назад

      The side walls are so stiff on the 2Track they don’t want to slide in themselves, clamp was a huge help. You will love the AX-41’s fantastic off road, nice and sticky on the HWY. You can really them in the twisties. Let me know how many miles you get out of them.

    Nice catch! LMAO! Rear tires are always harder for me. The sidewall's can be such a pain. I have a tire stand and really LONG spoons so you get lots of leverage makes it much easier but rear's can still be a pain and I also bugger up my rims but I only do MX tires and my rims are not painted so no biggie. I've never changed a street bike tire.

    • @AdventureTomek

      Tire stand is on the list. I have a buddy near by who welds as a hobby, maybe we can whip up something.

      @@AdventureTomek Ive been using an oil barrel I got from an oil change place.
      Maybe its a 30 gallon. It makes a great tire changing stand for free. Some will slit a garden hose and attach it to rim of barrel so the spokes are resting on the hose. I havent done that yet.

    Thanks. Just stumbled onto your channel and appreciated the review. I'm on a 990 rolling AX41s so these popped onto my radar recently as I'm planning a rear replacement. I ride a lot of trails similar to this video so your opinions are valued. If I remember correctly, you have a 1090. Would you consider these for that bike if you were doing a fair amount of off-tarmac riding? Say a BDR trail? Cheers from the mountains of Utah.

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  16 дней назад

      If you are running Tubeless yes. These are a pain to get one and off so a trail side fix might be a struggle.
      I did have a 1190, just sold it recently.

    What exhaust are you running? Is it a slip on? Did you have to remap the bike? Sounds great!

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  6 месяцев назад +3

      Thought I had a Akrapovic 😂 Bought the bike used and the muffler had a Akrapovic sticker on it. After some deep diving online turns out this is a eBay or off AliExpress, just a slip-on.
      No tuning on the ECU yet, might look into a full system and delete the cat at some point.
      Dominator has some nice systems at approachable prices.

    Tires with stiff carcasses are a pain in the ass on bikes with inner tubes...
    I will consider these tires after they have been out a bit longer and there is more longevity data available.

  • @bradsanders6954
    @bradsanders6954 7 месяцев назад +2

    I wont pay a shop anymore to do tires. They have a frikken tire machine that makes it fast and easy like a car tire.
    10 minutes tops to do a rear stiff tire. 50 or 60 bucks per tire, screw em!

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah, exactly. Quick swap for them. I had enough, with a few more swaps myself I’ll get better.

      @scottloftin1730 Tire machine is a write off, and can be found for less than 6000.....50 sets of tires would not take long at all....12 years ago the local BMW shop was charging 65.00 for 1 tire change, IF you bought the tire from them at a good distance over retail. And you had to bring in just the wheel to get that special pricing......its like they want to chase prospective customers away.

    I wish there were decent videos 90% of T7 riders aren’t looking for Enduro or dirt bike trails. We ride gravel roads, chip and seal, a little dirt. Video makers ride difficult BDR roads.

    These would be an absolute PITA to repair a tube on the trail given how hard it looked like it was install at your house. $120 for two tires off the bike doesn't sound so bad when the closest shop to me charges $200 per wheel off the bike!

      They dont have tubes. Carrying a few kinds of tubeless tire plugging items is a good idea.
      No tubeless tire is good to do at trailside. They have to be re-seated on rim, it would not be good.
      All tend to be stiff. Some can be ridden a long ways flat.

      And usually a free rotation or two.
      Bikes just arent like that.
