Anyway, max out buffs and debuffs on his first form, because it carries over to the second form. Rakukaja is a must, because the second form has an attack that does massive damage, even when fully debuffed. I had to max out Rakukaja to make that attack surviveable...

Try this fight with both Vishnu and Shiva, they seem to be dancing to the music it's a hilarious final fight against a big Ol' disco ball

I did this... And i was half laughing and half weirded out at the same time...
Shiva trying to go wild, Vishnu's drunken manly moans... (These two are supposed to be at the very peak of Indian Mythology... And yet in Nocturne, they are the two most comedic, and mad powerful.)
It was lost on US audiences who didn't get SMT 1 and 2, but the second form was actually a huge plot twist, revealing Kagutsuchi to actually be YHVH, and that all three Reasons were forms of LAW. And they did it without a single word.
But if you didn't know that was the design for YHVH, it was just a big creepy face. :/
Where did you hear the True Demon ending is canonical? That ending wasn't even in the original version of the game, I don't buy it. In SMT1 and 2, the canonical ending was Neutral, and the "neutral" ending in Nocturne, for what it's worth, is Resurrection. (The True Demon ending is Chaos and all three Reasons are ultimately stalking horses for Law.)
Of course, once you introduce regeneration cycles, the idea of "canon" kind of goes out the window.
At a minimum, Kagutsuchi possesses the full force and power of the Great Will. Whether that makes him YHVH or an avatar of YHVH is ultimately semantics, in my opinion. What's important is that SMT3 put on the appearance of having completely scuttled the Law/Chaos divide, and it's only revealed in this final battle that Kagutsuchi is the power of Law, which suddenly puts everything in the game in a huge new context. That's why it's brilliant.
Or I guess he could just randomly turn into an old man face and it's just a bog standard final boss battle. I think the game is smarter than that.
Hero of the Beach You have a little point wrong. YHVH isnt the Great Will. It is only an aspect of him, generated by the faith of humans and their desire for Law.
Kagutsuchi is not anymore the Great Will, there is a billion of Kagutsuchi wich supervise billion of Conception ( that is Lucifer words ) You can consider him as a YHVH bis.
This is why destroying this Kagutsuchi only condemn THIS world only to eternal death, but the Great Will remain. Lucifer need Naoki reborn as the most powerful demon beside himself to lead the battle. Naoki have the human capacity have to evolve and grow indefinively, other demons cannot.
This put an interesting point = Naoki is strong enough to destroy YHVH. But he struggle against a Lucifer who is HOLDING BACK. Lucifer is much more stronger than YHVH, but Lucifer do not even try to fight directly the Great Will without getting Naoki first. Just imagine the raw power of the Great Will....

And the True Demon Ending is canon, it lead to the event of the game Shin Megami Strange Journey. During this game, Lucifer and the Great Will are weakened to a fearful point : Lucifer merely appear in the form of "Louisa Ferre" to give some advice and taunt, and the only thing you see of the Great Will are mere fragments of his power dispersed like the Demiurge, Alilat and Metatron. Imagine the battle that had been to reduce those guy to this point....

Did you crit the boss for nearly 10,000 HP..? Talk about a huge chunk of HP gone for the boss regardless.
I got a 10,000 plus critical on Lucifer.
Freikugel w/ +4/-4 on Kagutsuchi gives 10000-11500 Damage on Crit.. Same with Lucifer, but for him you have to have Pierce to make it work.(If you go TDE, you will gain it yourself)..
Love the Freikugel animation on this tho... Just one big howl.
Now it makes sense why Dante doesn't seem impressed by anyone in DMC 4 and 5.
After fighting one avatar of god and Lucifer himself, the rest of the enemies he faces afterwards would be like "uh... sure, why should I care bud?" His ohsh-o-meter has already reached its peak.
(Weird thing that he hasn't mentioned the Hitoshura in those games, even as a loose reference).

I loved this game, just wish it didnt crash every single time I beat kagatsuchi, essentially making the game unbeatable for me.

@@ThreeG456 PS3. I had the same problem. It affects the European version of the ps store. Such a bruh moment.
@@Manudyne Now that is just terrible. Having an issue that prevents someone to beat the game and see the ending is something that should be fixed.
@@cliffturbo2146 Yeah, it sucks bad. But that's what we got, they never bothered patching the game unfortunately. It's sad when they forget or don't even know about some issues like this one.
