As a kid I saw this in arcades and it intimidated me. The screen was so huge, it cost more than other games and it seemed very advanced visually. It was also hard!
I remember thinking the same thing, but also at the same time it struck me as a really good idea because it naturally gave you a much better reaction time
Arcade Archives released the original arcade version of The Ninja Warriors on PS4. Now we can play it at home in high-definition instead of the triple-wide screen from the original arcade cabinet
Devs: "We can't afford a sound effect for this tank, what should we do?" Producers: "Just use some generic distortion that sounds like the entire continent is falling into the ocean, it'll be fine"
1987 in the arcade. I was 14 there was a line in front of this big 3 screen gamemachine it was not allowed for a 14 year old kid.... The police send me out, over and over again... It was a great game and a amazing time, the 80s...
Kind of annoying the way the 2 players seem to be competing with each other rather than working as a team. There's enemies coming from both sides yet the player who's behind tries to beat the other player over to the right side to fight enemies rather than just take on the enemies on the left that are closer to him.
I can tell that this game can be a real pain in the ass to master. Aside from that, the graphics and the animations are pretty superb, especially from a game that was released way back in 1987.
23:11 So, both the Ninja Warriors and Banglar actually survived, the two came back to Resistance HQ where they were joined by third Warrior Kamaitachi, and Banglar started an assault on Resistance, which led to events of the SNES title which was originally marketed as a sequel of this game, right?
Actually, The Ninja Warriors Again is a reboot of the same game with a new robot (Kamaitachi). The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors is a reboot of the Snes game with 2 other ninja robots, Yaksha and Raiden (a reboot of a reboot). All games tells the same story (that´s why they aren´t sequels): rebel leader Mulk and his cientists are cornered up but Banglar forces, but they still had an ace card: untested killer Ninja Robots that they quickly deploy to kill Banglar and every soldier from his army. In the end, the Ninja robots always kill Banglar and after finishing the mission, they are destroyed with hidden bombs inside of them. Mulk assumes the country and quickly becames a dictator himself, developing new robots for his own army. Quite dark ending.
$1 per play. You know the arcade vendor is trying to make his money back asap. Taito was known in the day for making triple screen arcade cabinets. Konami manufacture a dual screen for the 6 player version on X-Men.
I love how there is just zero finesse to the gameplay here, the players are just spamming the bosses and mini bosses with throwing stars and knife play until they go down
Walk animations looks weird as fuck, like they just got out of bed to get water.. music repeats forever, graphics are pretty painful. Snes version looks a lot better to me.
Lilliath I think it would be good to see a remake that borrows the best aesthetics from both versions (visually and auditory) to create something entirely new. Lol

The one thing I remember about seeing this game in the arcades was how calm and smooth the main character's walk animation was.

Yup the first 50 cent arcade game I came across while all others I had played were a quarter.
Used to play this in the arcade, I loved the sounds, animations and everything. Never had enough money to beat it.

l like the 1/2 ninja 1/2 machine aspect 👍
"Sir, cyborg ninjas have killed nearly everyone on the Base."
"I'll get my wingsuit".
"Boy, he really plans for everything, doesn't he?"

Surfiken this game has a racist soundtrack too. did you hear the voice saying go nigga! go! go nigga! lol
***** I thought the game's main theme, Daddy Mulk, is singing the aforementioned soundtrack name.
Surfiken listen closely. It says it. lol I played it many times.
***** I think you're mishearing it.
Surfiken not at all. You can also hear don't break my car don't break my car don't break my car!
playing this and Darius 1+2 on an ultrawide monitor would be cool!
This looks like it was quite the technical marvel when it was released at the time, right??
Also, that is one kick a$#@ opening stage track!!
Wow this game looks amazing. It looks better animated than most cartoons.
Hot damn, this is the widest aspect ratio for a game I’ve ever seen, and this was 1987 lmao
Silent films🤝Arcade games
Obsolete forms of their respective media where someone fucked around and jammed three 4:3 pictures together.
A REVORUTION BROKE OUT
im stealing that for my game, we always make nods to the golden age of arcade games
The best part is how the whole ending essentially boils down to: "You won but everything went to shit anyway because robots"
It will be Awesome that RUclips Let us play videos with games like this at 2 or 3 screens simultaneously
Oh I recognize the Taito _font!_ ☻
Thx for the full game. I always wondered how it went every time I saw it at the arcades.
It's funny how the 80s ninja craze made ninjas a bunch of direct brute force mass murderers instead of stealthy assassins who hide in the shadows.

They even look like robots when they walk, it looks so weird and cool!! xD
I have 12 year and i love this video game 😍
that fucking casual stroll.THE CHAD NINJA
The first boss (purple female ninja) sounds like she's having a sneezing fit
Here from the Grump bump, Danny was right this music is sweet.
I love how there is just zero finesse to the gameplay here, the players are just spamming the bosses and mini bosses with throwing stars and knife play until they go down
Taito put a bit of effort into this, as opposed to something like Operation Wolf
Op Wolf's final rescue mission was stressful.
Game Grumps sent me

This music is amazing!
These are PS1 level graphics, but not even that can do this resolution.
The first console to be able to play this game with the letterboxes would be the XBOX.
nice
23:10 VIVA LA REVORUTION!
This game is completely out of control
