I'm not surprised that Jacob (Jordan) is having problems with Dale and the LRR playstyle, but Beej? Seeing him freak out? He should know what to expect from Dale. He's been on other of his campaigns.
I loved the running thread of Jacob avocating for Moxie, and going more and more insane at the chaotic attitudes of everyone else. The fact that he finally succeeded with Beej, the outcome of that, and his fit of giggles because of it, was just glorious.
I don't know under what circumstances Jacob first decided to work with LRR, but I don't think I could ever properly convey how grateful I am. Jacob has been and continues to be one of the greatest boons to the company as a whole.
I really love how the intro changed to reflect the difference in clones. I'm really loving this game and I can't wait to see where all these Brendas lead.
I wanna take a stab a guess that Dale grabbed the Joke Jacob made about the Brendas in that last session and started to weave that into the story. That's something Dale does. Although, it was good to see the players get one up on Dale at least.
If anyone wants to see the session introductions/aftermath that each player gets, they're in the LRR forums here: loadingreadyrun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=28097
I'm not sure what the best moment this week was, Jacob talking about his "soft gun" or the discussion around how Jacob make the Shooters episode have an exciting ending.
Jacob, best description for taking someone out for five rounds? A kick to the breadbasket. It's so evocative and anyone who has been hit in the upper groin/stomach area and had their diaphragm violently thrown up and back knows how distracting it is.
Well... Jordan DID use his rifle from exceptionally close range, just as promised. Clearly everything worked perfectly and there were no Brendas-- ahem, I mean "problems" at all.
As someone who doesn't know very much about Paranoia is it normal for subsequent clones to have completely different jobs and looks or is that something that's only taking place here? Just because when I personally imagine clones I imagine an exact replica.
Depends on the game master and the edition of Paranoia. But, in general, things don't work very well in Alpha Complex, so it's quite common that clones vary as they are reformed. Usually, it's one or two changes (like getting a new secret society or mutant power, or just a stat or two gets changed.) Sadly, there is too much teamwork with this group. Generally, the team will off at least one of each other's clones at the start. Remember, to be a member of a secret society or to have a mutation is treasonous. Everyone is a member of a secret society, everyone has a mutation, AND everyone is looking for people who are mutants and members of secret society because friend computer asked them to... And in past editions, each team member got a mission from their secret society that often contradicted the official mission and maybe required killing at least one person on the team at least once. Keep your laser handy and trust no one, Troubleshooter.
One troubleshooter might be assigned to different teams and take on different roles. As for clones, I believe it is totally not because the cloning system is flawed (implying any system put in place by the Computer is flawed is treason) and might introduce mutations in the process, but some clones get lucky and have their previous physical mutation removed or unlucky and gain a physical mutation in the process.
The reason that Beej and Jacob's characters look completely different is that their previous clones were mutants. Something had gone wrong with the cloning process, giving them an abnormal appearance/characteristics.
@@jackielinde7568 Mhmm I did notice that about the teamwork. My only previous experience with Paranoia was a single session podcast I listened to where each member was keeping a secret and trying to find ways to split off from the party in order to accomplish their task. Last session when Jacob broke character and spent two minutes to be absolutely sure that everyone was going to be fine with the action he took I couldn't help thinking that it ran counter to the spirit of the game where everyone is supposed to act secretive and self-interested but again my experience is limited.
@@Grimwear Oh, no. The material for several of the versions (through very overt statements, innuendo, implicit statements, etc.) was very clear that no one at the table could be trusted. Yes, I was a little frustrated with Jacob trying to meta the game and that he didn't pick up on the chaos on the other side. Part of the point in Paranoia is that there is NO ONE you can trust, especially those on your team. They have a licence to shoot to kill, and it leaves a lot of room for names. The ONLY real reason that the team only kills off one or two of each other's clones is that there are bigger, badder things trying to kill them (including the people who assigned their mission). So, they're sort of stuck coming together at some point to get the job done (or as well as can be expected).
You mean Friend Computer? Access to Friend Computer's code is Ultraviolet level only. Attempting to access Friend Computer's code without Ultraviolet clearance is treason of the highest order, and grounds for immediate termination. There's also the Machine Empathy mutant power. Which Friend Computer considers so dangerous that it will have you executed on the spot if it finds out you have it. Basically, if you value your lives, don't meddle with Friend Computer.
I feel Fetherweight doesn't get enough credit for these gorgeous intro sequences. And clearly on a short timeframe, too!
I enjoy Jordan being constantly on the edge of a mild catastrophic meltdown when being subjected to Dale XD
@@Snowy123 specifically Jordan the Nibbles ;3

“I just want to state that I am exercising trigger discipline.”
Dear Jacob, You are my favorite.
The funniest statement in this with the light of the end of the episode.
Making the whole game framed around 'Shooters' as a parallel to the fact that the whole campaign is being streamed is absolutely brilliant.

New Title: Open the Door, Get on the Floor, Everyone walk the Dino-sore
Jacob's face at Ian saying "Well clearly they don't want me to win" after rolling badly is so hilarious. I'd be doing the same thing.
I just want to say ive watched all of the games dale GMs and I think he his a stellar Game Master and communicator!
I have to say, that the most enjoyment I get out of watching this is seeing Jacob slowly loose his mind. It's fantastic.
Jacob's little noise of excitement when they got the lore dump near the end just makes my heart so happy :D
"Look how fast can I clean my gun! *BANG*" absolutely killed me
2:05:00 the moment it all went glorious
Im kinda in love with Jacobs RP style. I shall take it and make it my own.
Nibbles seems to be experiencing a severe case of Jordan dysphoria.

YES! I was looking forward to this Upload all week! Thank you
Feeling ill today. Perfect thing to pick me up.
Zojirushi vacuum bottle! Those things are amazing. Mine goes with me literally everywhere.
I appreciated the plural-zed alpha reference
Oh man, I didn't notice that! Brilliant!
Yaay! Episode 2!
I love how Heather cackles from off camera
Beej and Jordan taking turns saying bits of the "convince Ian to reroll his failures" bit was SO GOOD
Spoiler:
All hail the Ur-Brenda
Well... Jordan DID use his rifle from exceptionally close range, just as promised. Clearly everything worked perfectly and there were no Brendas-- ahem, I mean "problems" at all.
Jacob reminds me very strongly of Andy and that is not a bad thing.
Now i'm imagining a playgroup of Beej, Jacob, Andy and Jer with Dale as GM. Performances and shenanigans a-plenty.
My work here is done!
Are they fixing... a kraken the wall?

This campaign is tied with Bylaw for my favorite so far.
Beege quoting Astra lost in space. “Nice”.

Wow. So I woke up after the headless Infrared incident and have NO idea what's going on. I think I might be in a Paranoia episode? XD
...so, I wonder if anything is gonna happen with those goons that tried to mug Jacob early on...
Im sorry, I can't quite remember. What thing did we learn about last session?
I'm guess you are asking about moxie, a form of mental health points that you can spend to reroll your dice.
@@Winterpandacookies yeah we learned about this great thing called Moxie xD
I love Beej soo much!
