My biggest problem w the 84 is that the doors are glued in and not screwed in. Doesn’t hurt anything but for the price I would like some proper hinges… and the red accents aren’t painted on. Both of those things are quality issues and not inaccuracies but they always stood out to me. That being said, I wish Blitzway made all the 1/6 vehicles! Also, BBTS just sent out e-mails today stating they will be charging soon!
I agree, they actually forgot to paint red behind the fins by the back door and they had to stick on the red at the last second. Mine is still holding up though luckily
When it comes to the shape of the car and how true it is the original is touchy. There are so many variations of the ecto 1 some of this is because the Cadillac company holds the likeness rights and slight changes are made to reflect this. That's why the Playmobil has 3 fog lights instead of two. DMC did this with the delorean merchandise for a while. Only a select few were allowed to put the DMC logo on the front and have Delorean molded into the rear bumper.
The flite-fin trim on this makes it look cartoonish I don’t own one but that belt line has always bothered me too. The rear window looks a lot better than the eaglemoss build up. That one is huge, and the rear door doesn’t taper as it should, it just goes straight up which looks goofy to me too. I always wished blitzway would have opened the centers of the light bar mounts where the braces come out. Also wish they had put a fan in the fan box too. Lastly if you want to try and replicate the rocker trim, get aluminum duct tape. Easy to cut to size and removable if you mess F it up. 🍻
Thanks man! I am getting the Afterlife version and because most of it is the same exact mold, it will have most of the same imperfections, but I am definitely planning on weathering it a lot more than how it comes stock and a few other mods.
