So glad you are feeling better. Your stitching and your finishes are gorgeous. You excel in both areas. I always look forward to your videos. God bless.!
Sorry you’re feeling sick. Please get some rest. Drink plenty of fluids. I’m glad nurse Cocoa is keeping an eye on you. Thank you for sharing your stitching. ❤
Linda, thank you for the good advice and well wishes. I am fully recovered now and back to normal. Hope you are having a great month of stitching! Dena
Hi Dena. I am so glad you are feeling better, but very sorry you contracted the illness again. I love your sister's gift. I know she will love it. Please take good care.
It's great to catch up with you Dena. Thanks for sharing your WIPs and your FFOs with us. I love your finished pieces and it's great that you have 5 more pieces to add to your Christmas decor. Your sister will love her fully finished piece too. Had to laugh seeing Cocoa in her after-bath towel. Hugs to Cocoa and Happy Stitching!
Thanks Sarah! Congrats on finishing Encore recently! I have been watching even though I hadn't commented because I was traveling, then sick, but I am right as rain now. Hope you are having a good stitching month. I also want to tell you I am praying for you and your family during your time of loss. It is so tough to lose a parent. But God is so good to sustain us. Dena
Your finishes were great! Don’t sell yourself short. Glad you are recovering. Sounds like Covid hit Stitching in the Wild. Ronny told me he has Covid too. Take care.
Polar Express pillow is darling and I LOVE that trim! I love finding frames at thrift stores...I was thrilled to find an odd shaped one recently that fit a canvas print perfectly...for $3.00! Of course, to make up for that bargain I overdid at the craft store, but in my mind it was even! Glad you are feeling better. Like that old clip that went around.."Ain't nobody got time for that!"
Lynn, thanks for the lovely compliment on my trim for the Polar Express Pillow. It made it festive to my way of thinking. Great bargain for $3.00 for a frame! I am fully recovered in time to work at the Emporium at church so that is helpful. We had a successful weekend in spite of the hurricane! Dena
Cocoa doesn't mind getting a bath, until it takes a long time. My hubby is very thorough and she tires before he is finished. I think her expression is saying, Really? Enough is enough! I'm so threw with this! LOLOLOL. Dena
Oh my, you definitely have a lot to handle with your strep and covid. I hope you feel better each day. We all think about you and wish you a speedy recovery.
Linda, thanks so much for the thoughts and well wishes. I am feeling so much better now. I have finished the COVID meds and am only last five days of the antibiotics for strep. Just about back to my normal energy levels, however, I did nap again yesterday. LOL. I never nap unless I am sick, so that tells you I am still recovering a bit. Stitching lots more though. Dena
WOW!!! That was a fun filled video!! So much to see and hear about. Your stitching and finishing are beautiful. I forget all that I wanted to tell you, there was so much to compliment you on!! But as I watched your everyday video I could see you improving with your covid issue! So glad you are feeling better! My hubby and I also had covid lately and it was an additional 2 weeks of a lingering cough. Thought it would never get better. Thanks for a fun one hour video!!!!
Jenn, so sorry to hear you and your hubby had the dreaded COVID as well. I am fine now and about to head to the church to begin the big Emporium fund raiser this weekend. Not a good weekend as far as the weather is concerned, but hopefully folks will venture out between rain storms to participate in a good cause. Dena
Look forward to seeing you each week! I want to join you in the 30 day finishes. I have never done anything like this before but I need the challenge. Excited!
So glad you are feeling better. Thank you for being a responsible person by isolating from others. Whether it is Covid or a stomach virus or a cold, I think it is inconsiderate to expose unsuspecting people to sickness. You showed your compassion for others. Your finishing is beautiful and I always enjoy your channel so much.
THank you Nancy for such kind words. I agree with you, it is inconsiderate of others to expose them to illness. I know folks don't want to miss out on their big events, but now there have been several who came down with COVID, even Ronny, so now lots will miss out on other events in their lives. I am grateful that I was diagnosed so quickly and got the medication that allowed me to weather the COVID and strep with very minor inconveniences. Staying isolated meant stitching when I felt up to it, so that was a silver lining. Dena
Hi. I just sent a message to my group of friends about doing a finishing day! What a great idea. Please let Mrs. Dee know that I will be using her idea. I'm so happy your back to feeling better. You still got a lot of stitching in while recovering, which helps pass the time. Take care and see you next time.
Kanday, you will really enjoy the Virtual Finishing Day! I prepped the night before, setting out the frame, the fabrics, interfacing, etc so I could spend my time fully finishing. Those that did that got lots more done than those who did not. Dena
Thanks for the info on 3 Months to the Finish Line... count me in! I'm so glad you are feeling better too! Love the photo of Cocoa wrapped up in her towel! Too cute! Chat again soon!!
Karla, I do want to chat with you again soon to get the dates and more info on the stitching cruise you mentioned. Tommy is interested in us going if we can. Dena
Glad you’re better!! I could tell every day you filmed you were feeling a little better. Your sister’s gift is beautiful. She will love it!! So glad you showed us your finishes. They are all lovely. The last one does look so much better on green. That’s why we have friends. I think I heard you say you use your IPad for zooming. I have never tried a zoom. Might have to. Thanks for filming even though you were sick. Absolutely love that pic of Cocoa with the towel on. You need to frame that one!!!!❤
Devra, thanks so much for the kind words of encouragement. I am feeling right as rain now. I am hopeful my sister will love her gift as well. I think she will. Cocoa was so over that bath by that time, LOL>. Dena
Glad you are getting better. I got off a cruise ship August 19 and felt like I had a cold and it was Covid. My friend that went with me ended up with it too. All you stitching and finishes are so beautiful.
Elaine, one of the silver linings is that I should have high antibodies for 90 days and within that time we are taking a long cruise! So, I am crossing my fingers that I don't get COVID on the next cruise since I have already had it. Dena
Dena - How great that you were able to participate in the virtual finishing day. Your finishes look great! I do agree that the green fabric makes your stitching *pop* on that Christmas piece. I'm glad you're feeling better! Happy stitching! - TaMara
So sorry you have been under the weather. I have been working on finishes also. Have a couple more to do then I have to get busy on three quilts that I need to finish before Christmas. Love all of your finishes. You did a wonderful job..
Lynette, thanks so much for the compliments on my finishes. I don't think I have a creative eye when it comes to finishes, so I appreciate so much you're saying you liked them all. Dena
So very sorry your unwell, did Donna get sick as well? Love your gift for your sister. Ohhh that polar express pillow is beautiful nice finish. $5.00 frames what a deal. Joe made me something similar to your bell pull hanger I love it being generic. I picked up that little stand you are putting your turkey time on when I was at retreat. Ohhh love that stand for jingle jolly joy. the green fabric is perfect. Very successful finishing day. I am off to visit my sister who just lost her husband. Staying 4-5 days with her. Taking knitting and cross stitch with me to give me something to do in the cabin that I will be staying in. Happy stitching Patty
Patty, so sorry to hear about your sister's loss. You will be a great comfort to her. Glad you are taking along your knitting and cross stitch to keep your hands busy. Apppreciate all the kind compliments on my finishes. Dena
I'm so sorry you were sick! I had Covid for the first time last month and also took Paxlovid. It sounds like you had an easier time than me which is a blessing. I absolutely love the FFO of fur friends! I swear everytime I watch you I get enabled for something new. I also used your idea of going to the Habitat for Humanity store a month or so ago and picked up quite a few frames for a very low price. Thanks for the heads up!
Anna, so sorry you had the Covid. This was my third time and was the lightest bought I've had so far, but still makes you feel lousy. So happy to be finished with the Paxlovid and the metallic taste it gives you. Feeling back to normal now. Dena
Oh you made me laugh! CoCo taking a bath so sweet. We can't get our "Lily" in the tub. Yes I will try to do the 6 items with you, I am so behind in everything. Praying for you everyday, so glad you are feeling better. Hugs ann
So sorry those awful germies got ahold of of you!! UGH!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you'll be able to relax and get some stitching done!!! 🙂
Gin, after a couple of days, the meds kicked in and I was able to stitch! So, now I am feeling fine and getting ready for 3 months to the finish line! Dena
I am so sorry to hear you are not well. You look good! I hear that many folks from weekend 1 have COVID!!!!! I wish you a speedy recovery! So far for Faith and I we are doing well!
Sheila, so glad you and Faith did not get this at retreat! Ronny has it now, so I am thinking weekend 2 also has someone there who may not know they have it. Anyway, it was still worth it! Dena
Oh, my! I am so glad you are better now. Great progress on your stitching. Finishing day sounded so fun. I love your 4 pieces and plan for the 5th. Your sister's project turned out so nice. She's going to love it. ❤. Cocoa was so sweet!
Judy, thanks so much for visiting again. Thanks for the encouragement regarding my stitching progress and my finishes from my virtual finishing day. I sure hope my sister loves the bright colors. I think she will and hope she has a great place for it in her office. Dena
I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. Your fully finishing looks good to me. I gave,a bunch of kitties I want to make into little pillows but NY sewing machine was giving me fits so I am taking a break.
Oh no ! Get plenty of rest and get better . Thank you for filming even tho u don’t feel the best. It’s always so nice to see you .And what you have done.
Oh Dena I’m so sorry - I got it a couple days after you, on the 18th, got on Paxlovid, and just today (Sunday) I turned the corner. This was a bad strain - it’s like I never had a vaccine. I’m in awe of how much you were able to stitch - I went two solid days with no stitching. Such great progress on your WIP s and beautiful finishes. Hope you continue to feel better!
Sharon, I am so sorry you got the dreaded Covid as well. I only missed one day of stitching, but I only stitched enough to meet my ABCingo (100 stitches) the next day. I am so glad you have turned the corner. Dena
Thank you for doing a video even though you weren’t feeling well. Hope the dreaded lurgy has now gone. Loved seeing all your stitching and those finishes are gorgeous. I am so behind with that - I must get some more done. Cocoa is just so sweet and that photo of her with the bath towel on is precious. Thanks for sharing everything. Take care and happy stitching x
Cocoa doesn't mind getting the bath, but her Daddy is so thorough that it takes a little time. BY the time he is finished, she is long over it. LOL. Dena
So sorry to hear that you got sick😢. Im so glad you are on the mend. I have been thinking about you and hoping you are okay after the hurricane. I absolutely love Stephanies Christmas gift. I am sure she will too!
We are well here. Our son is without power and without water where he lives. I am hoping he gets both back as soon as possible....today would be good. Dena
Hi Dena I love your finishes and WIP's. They're all stunning and beautiful. Your finishes you did are so beautiful. You are a very talented lady. I finished my Heidelberg castle Sept 10th and will be taking it to Michael's to have it framed and mounted for my hubby. I am working on another one of my other old WIP called Honey Bear and have only the backstitching to do and hope to have it done in possibly a week or two and would like to have it framed and mounted for me. I am so happy you are feeling better. I have never had Covid nor my hubby (knock on wood). I will join you on October 1st to pick six projects to try to finish. Since I started 40 new starts I will see which of the six I will pick or look at some other smalls I have not finished. It will be fun. I'm glad Cocoa spent the time with when you weren't feeling well. Animals get be such a great comfort and they can sense when you are not doing well. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Pat, so happy you are joining in on the 3 months to the finish line. Let me know when you pick your six (and any alternates). I hope you will share photos of your framed pieces when you get them. You will finish the backstitching on Honey Bear in no time I'm sure. I finish up ABCingo today with work on Summer Treats so then I will use the remainder of September to further some pieces. Happy Stitching! Dena
Hi Dena, sorry to hear about Covid but could see how well you were getting as the video went on. Glad the medicine worked. Finishes and progress looks great. So glad you are changing fabric on one project. I was thinking green checks with beige (small). This will look great. See you later ❤
Yvonne, it was so great to have those friends stop me right away and say, that doesn't show case you're stitching. Now I have a padded piece ready for something else down the road because I love the fabric. LOL. Dena
Hi Dena, so sorry you were ill but by now I hope you're feeling much better and able to venture out. I'm so happy you got so much accomplished on the finishing day. I'm hoping I'll be able to make the next one. See you Sunday! Looking forward to it! Lori
Lori, I am feeling back to normal now. I have this weekend's big event at church for our big fund raiser (the Emporium), so I will be ready to chat on Sunday and tell you all about it. Dena
So sorry you were unwell-unfortunately I came down with COVID as well from SITW but I am now recovered. Love your FFOs and the idea of a virtual finish day. -Debbie 🦉🐊
Glad you are feeling better@ my daughter in law is in hospital with strep too! She has also had pneumonia two weeks ago and again landed up in hospital! But because her immune system is weak from the chemo she had, she is subsiteble to infections! Look after yourself!❤ p.s. love the kitties for your sister!
Michelle, so sorry to hear about your daughter's difficulties with the strep and pneumonia. I pray she recovers completely and quickly. So glad you liked the Fur-ever Friends I made for my sister. Dena
Dena...so sorry about that dang Covid and strep...it is still active ...my daughter is a teacher and has had it at least 5 times...of course she has to share a home with husband and two girls...it is an infection that never ends...beautiful piece for Stephanie...lovely whips...your finishes for Christmas are lovely...praying for a complete recovery...Cocoa is adorable...Tommy and she look so sweet...best wishes ❤
Loretta, thanks for the well wishes regarding Covid. I am fully recovered now. I thought I was bad with having it a third time, I feel for your daughter! Tommy was so sweet to take Cocoa for the day while I did my fully finishing day so he captured some moments for me. I had to share them as she was so cute. Dena
Hi Dena, those germs got you. Seems like you got ill after your last retreat. Pleased you are feeling better! Wonderful finishes. Love your framed piece for your sister, and that frame for the Teresa Kogut Christmas piece is beautiful. Happy stitching!!!
Cheryl, I guess I am going to have to stop hugging everyone I meet. LOL. SO glad you liked the framed piece for my sister. Happy Stitching to you! Dena
Hi Dena, glad you are on the mend! I have 6 smalls I’d love to finish by December. Most are independent designers from Etsy, the toughest one is a Teresa Kogut, Flowers and Berries. Not a big stitch, but my first trial with Black Aida. I’m Wipping Down in 2025, hoping to be at 10 projects so my big full coverages don’t linger for years and years. Happy Stitching!
Dovie, sounds like a great plan for 3 months to the finish line with your 6 smalls. Glad you are joining in! Love your Wipping Down plan for 2025. I have plans to finish some long term projects in 2025 by stitching on each 500 stitches each month. Dena
Hi Dena...Oh my....so sorry you got sick after the retreat...I have been hearing that happening a lot after large gatherings. Looks like you felt lots better as the week went on though. Loved how the gift turned out that you were making. Perfect. The Virtual finishing items came out so well. It is helpful to have other people to bounce ideas off of. ...3 months to the finsh...hard to even believe we will be closing in on the end of another year. Seems like just yesterday you were talking about your projects for 2024. Whooooosh ti just flies by doesnt it? Cindy
Cindy, it does fly by! I haven't even begun to think about all I want to do in 2025, with the exception of one chat group that I am participating in and we have goals to publish in the chat group by December 15th. Otherwise, I need to get to some planning! Dena
I think I’d like to join you on your Three Months to the Finish Line challenge! I have 6 pieces I’d like to finish before the end of the year anyway and I was struggling to choose which one to focus on next. This will be perfect! I’ll spin a wheel to see which one I’ll work on for a two day rotation each week. 👍🏻 My six will be: Heirloom Nativity Sampler, Colors of the Seasons 2, Cupcake Dreams, Honey Bee, Castle Homecoming and Shine Bright Sampler. 😍
So glad your feeling better Dena and thank you for your stitchy company today!!! Your finishing virtual stitch up sounds like you had a good time and sounds like fun !! Have a good week and full recovery !!!
Thanks so much for keeping me company today. I did enjoy the virtual finishing day and will most likely do that again soon. Thank you for the well wishes for a speedy recovery. I am feeling so much better! Dena
Thanks Jean, you are right, as the meds kicked in, I began to feel much better. I am right as rain now (just finishing the antibiotic to make sure the strep is gone). Thanks so much for the kind compliments on my stitching and my FFO's. Dena
Angela, thanks so much for the compliments on my finishes from the Virtual Finishing Day. I was very motivated by that so I will do it again in the future. Dena
Hello Dena I wish you well and thank you for the video considering your condition. Cannot wait to see your progress during the next 3 months. Love the Santa finish beautiful frame. Happy stitching and keep well.
Carlene, you see the difference in the two fabric choices as well. Yes, it was good to get the instant feedback from the group. I will like it much better on the dark green I think. Dena
To give myself a break from my full coverage (at 9٪), I decided to have some fun with Survivor this season. There are 18 contestants so I picked 18 WIPS. I assigned a WIP to each contestant. Broke it up into 3 teams with each team members being numbered 1-6. It's the 47th season so tried to stick with that number. When a team won a challenge I rolled the dice 1-6 and that person on the winning team (WIP got 47 stitches). Example Gato team won the first challenged and I rolled the dice pulled the WIP and started stitching. For the player who gets voted out that WIP will get 147 stitches and put in a new pile. Every week I will have my husband pick a WIP from the voted out contestants just to get another 47 stitches in to help remember that player. The fun thing about this is you have no idea when teams will get split up or what new things may happen. One thing that will be consistent is that each person will always have the same WIP. I was able to knock the stitches out in no time while watching football today. Now back to my full coverage until the next Survivor 😊
Glad you are feeling better. So much progress on your wip! Way to go 🎉 beautiful stitching ! Have you ever explained in your videos how you keep track of everything you stitch for events? I always want to get more involved in the games but how to keep track of all the games/ events gets confusing. Maybe that’s a sign of getting too old! lol
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 :( i didn't seek treatment and to my knowledge, I haven't ever had strep throat. However, I always end up with viral bronchitis. I went for a ~2 mile walk yesterday and felt pretty good. :D
Let me start with - you are my hero. Anyone who can get dressed and put jewelry and makeup on when they have Covid is seriously bad-a-. I don’t even look like that when I am not sick. I tend to look more like Willie Nelson on a daily basis. Your finishes are gorgeous!! What an accomplishment! Would you mind sharing what Matt cutter Donna uses and if she likes it?
You are so fun! I was trying to make myself feel better by getting up, showering, dressing, makeup and hair, etc. Just a normal day right? NOT! LOL. Donna's matt cutter is a Logan brand. She does like it and uses it to cut matt board for us for flat folds, flat ornaments, etc. She said it is the middle of the line, but she loves it. framing4yourself.com/product/logan-framers-edge-professional-mat-cutter/ is the link. Dena
Diana, I am so glad the physician checked for the strep. I wasn't even going there in my thoughts. I am sorry for your friend, but am grateful I am healthy otherwise. Dena
Hi Dena, Glad you’re feeling better. Your finishes are very nice! I am trying to finish my Wips to for the next few months. With a new start, Pretty Little Greece to take on our cruise in Greece. Have a good week> 😊🪡
So glad you are feeling better. Your stitching and your finishes are gorgeous. You excel in both areas. I always look forward to your videos. God bless.!

Oh man strep is terrible, and covid oh oh. So glad you are feeling better. And you had a great time!
Cindy, I did have such a good time. You would have loved it! Dena
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 i saw Carolyn’s video sounded like such fun!
Iris, I so appreciate the kind words regarding my finishing. Taking a break when the sewing machine is fighting with you is a good idea. Dena
Oh no ! Get plenty of rest and get better . Thank you for filming even tho u don’t feel the best. It’s always so nice to see you .And what you have done.
Thank you so much!! I am feeling so much better now. Hoping to get back into the full swing this week. Dena
Dena
Happy that you are OK and hopefully your son gets power as quickly as possible!
Thank you! He anticipates it being back to normal about Thursday of this week.
God bless
Pat
LOL. Dena
Praying for a speedy recovery for you. ❤
Thank you so much! I am feeling better this week! Hope you are well and stitching!
Dena
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 looking forward to Sunday!
So sorry you were unwell-unfortunately I came down with COVID as well from SITW but I am now recovered. Love your FFOs and the idea of a virtual finish day. -Debbie 🦉🐊
Debbie, I am so sorry you got it too! So glad you are recovered. Dena
Dena
Tks Dena, she will be home on Thursday. Lots of love from Greece!
Dena
You're fully finishes are lovely! And I'm so glad you're feeling better. I feel lucky that it's doesn't seem like I got covid
Diane, I think you are very lucky. Julianna came down with it as well. Dena
Julia and I have been home for over a week now and nobody got sick, so feeling blessed
Dena
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 hugs are the best despite the illness!
What great finishing you managed. Glad you recovered from Covid x
Thanks so much for the compliment on my finishes. So glad to be over COVID. Hoping I don't get it again anytime soon.
Dena
All your finishes are beautiful! Well done !
Thanks so much Michelle.
Awesome Sarah! So glad you are joining in on the fun! It will be here before we know it! Dena
Wow, your finishes are lovely!!! Great job
Hi Elaine, I saw on Facebook where you were with Chelsey and her mom at a retreat. I know you enjoyed meeting them. Dena
@@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 yes, it was such a nice retreat. Chantel at 141 Design and her team do a great job in organizing it.
Dena
So glad you are feeling better. Hi cocoa
Becky, Cocoa sends her love! Thanks for stopping by! Dena
As this episode progressed it was apparent that you were feeling much better! 🎉
Your stitching and FFOs are beautiful as always. 🪡🪡🪡
Thanks Jean, you are right, as the meds kicked in, I began to feel much better. I am right as rain now (just finishing the antibiotic to make sure the strep is gone). Thanks so much for the kind compliments on my stitching and my FFO's. Dena
I'm glad you're feeling better now! Great job on your sister's gift and your finishing day pieces!
Angela, thanks so much for the compliments on my finishes from the Virtual Finishing Day. I was very motivated by that so I will do it again in the future. Dena
Praying you feel better soon.
Arlene, thanks so very much for the well wishes. I am on the mend, feeling much, much better this week. Dena
Very beautiful finishes Dena.
Thank you! 😊
Hello Dena I wish you well and thank you for the video considering your condition. Cannot wait to see your progress during the next 3 months. Love the Santa finish beautiful frame. Happy stitching and keep well.
Neil, Thanks so much for the well wishes. I am much, much better now. I can go out and about starting today. Dena
Hope you are feeling better Dena. Your finishes are lovely, glad you chose not to use the hat other fabric on your Christmas piece! Take care.
Carlene, you see the difference in the two fabric choices as well. Yes, it was good to get the instant feedback from the group. I will like it much better on the dark green I think. Dena
Oh my goodness your sister's gift is gorgeous! 😍
Louise, thanks you! I hope she likes the crazy bright colors!
Praying you feel better every day. Happy stitching.
Jeannie, what a great idea!!!! You work out any kinks in this and next year put it out there for others to join you! It is a fun idea! Dena
Glad you are feeling better. So much progress on your wip! Way to go 🎉 beautiful stitching ! Have you ever explained in your videos how you keep track of everything you stitch for events? I always want to get more involved in the games but how to keep track of all the games/ events gets confusing. Maybe that’s a sign of getting too old! lol
Wendy, I have explained it before, but since then I have changed it, so it wouldn't hurt for me to do it again. Thanks for the suggestion! Dena
I caught something nasty but the home test was negative. I stayed home for probably a week!
Well, you may have had strep throat. I had that and Covid and neither are fun that is for sure. Dena
Dena
Oh no I hope you feel better soon. My girlfriend had that combination and it did not end well .but she did have underlying conditions.
