The chef's real name is Kubrik and he (use to) work at a hotel in a small village named Rättvik in the Swedish county of Dalarna. He got infamous about 30 years ago in America when he got "stage fright" on a cooking TV show and forgot all english he knew and improvised in swenglish during the show.
Chef was the best! As a kid in the 70's The Muppet's we're a family thing but chef was my fav and after a few I do my own thing in his honor lol . Funny how it works so well! Only recently found out he was one of Jim Henson's characters and made me miss him more. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I’m so impressed how the puppeteer doing the arms, is able to use props when he is reaching up from under a table and watching everything he’s doing on a tiny monitor. Not to mention -but I will- the coordination between the guy doing the arms, and the guy operating the head. Sorry did I just ruin the magic?! I meant to say the Swedish Chef is real, and the best celebrity chef of all time!
Glad to hear that! I made this video back when I was 11 but now that I'm 23, I can say for certain this video is still a good one to see. So I'm happy to have brought a smile to your face!
@@CalmestRaccoon it's more than just my mood .. my ex brother in law (whom I still remain close to..) came in the kitchen one Thanksgiving where I was cooking and he started in with his immitation of the swedish chef! I laughed so hard, I might have wet my pants! So when I found your video, I laughed just as hard this time as I did years ago,!! In fact, I sent him a copy of it and told him "thanks for all the times you made me laugh like hell.."! I don't know if the swedish chef makes everybody laugh like it does me, but thank you so much for reminding me that laughter is the best medicine!! So if I keep watching your videos...I should live to be 100!!
@@marlenemorrow8942 Aww, I really appreciate the words there! And I'm glad those happy memories were awakened by this video! I remember my mom often trying to imitate the Swedish Chef whenever she felt goofy, and even though it wasn't always funny, it still brings a smile to my face. I wonder if making videos about another Muppet character I always liked (Beaker) in this day and age would still be watched by folks out there. Also, if you do wanna check out my other videos, I do appreciate that too. I just hope gaming videos and random goofiness is something you'd watch lol
+Johannes Jonzon I don't think this is offensive at all swedish people. I think they just wanted to pick a country and make a puppet who 'comes from Sweden' (If i spell that country correct)
The Swedish Chef ROCKS....only thing funnier on the Muppet Show BITD was The Great Gonzo or possibly Muppet Labs.It is an absolute SHAME that a variety show like this is not on TV these days but garbage like reality TV overwealms the progarmming. Some of the biggest stars appeared on The Muppet Show from Steve Martin and Peter Sellers and Lynda Carter and the list goes on and on.
Elsinore Brewing Muppet Labs is close.. but Gonzo and them chickens are hysterical. They are supposed to reprise The Muppet Show this fall on ABC.. I have seen a commercial for it this morning.
I grew up watching the Muppet Show, as a kid it was absolutely the highlight of the week for and i couldnt wait the next show. I would say the modern equivalent is The Simpsons, its massively popular like the Muppets were and the celebrities all line up to appear on it like the muppet show. I love the Simpsons as a grown man as much as i loved the muppets as a kid.
May Richard Hunt (1951-1992) rest in heavenly peace along with Jim Henson (1936-1990), Erin Ozker (1948-1993), Jerry Juhl (1938-2005), Joe Raposo (1937-1989), the great Jerry Nelson (1934-2012), Jane Henson (1934-2013), Faz Fazakas (1918-2013) and John Henson (1965-2014) in the heaven skies.
greenlee7smythe I could see the outtakes...spoons come flying back and hit him in the head..lol..check out the chef making poutine in montreal hes doing his gallagher impersonation with the cheese curds..lol
Its funny if you don't watch him and do something else and think of something else. And then suddenly you hear somebody going bou bouh uobschkid do dbou bou LOL.

The best character ever in the history of television...hands down.
You are correct. I laugh my ass off now.
Yes ...for me it's a tie with Daffy Duck...
In a shitty mood when I can..I watch both and pea me self!!!!
Whenever I am in a crappy mood, I watch this and instantaneously get cheered up. Bork Bork Bork!😆
I love how he throws his utensils around.
In many of these sketches, the laughter of the crew cannot be hidden. And I do not blame them one bit.

Per Boicel I never knew that
Man, these never get old. 😀
In Jim Henson's brilliant mind, food seemed to have a life on their own...
The tart, the spaghetti, the dough, the crabs...Arriba!!😆😆
I love that 😍

One of the best Muppet!
I’m so impressed how the puppeteer doing the arms, is able to use props when he is reaching up from under a table and watching everything he’s doing on a tiny monitor.
Not to mention -but I will- the coordination between the guy doing the arms, and the guy operating the head.

My favourite Muppet character XD
Are we gonna ignore how a limb of sentient spaghet tried to strangle the chef
This guy needs his own show.

The people at PETA disliked this.
Even though I'm a Swede myself I don't find this offensive at all. This is actually hilarious.

There should be a "CC" button for "Closed Captions"
fun fact: 99% of swedish chefs stop chasing their live ingredients right before they get in the pot
When the Swedish Chef said Chicken, the chicken was enjoying the scratch but when the Swedish Chef said the basket, the chicken freaked out
Så jävla Skön :D
