Priest Holmes and Ricky Williams in the same backfield...🔥
It was so dirty
That should've been illegal! Even though the Cornhuskers were the better team, Texas was the better team that day! That's for sure! I just knew the Cornhuskers were gonna blow the doors off the Horns with that High Octane Option attack, but man was I wrong! 😳🏈💯
As long as I live I will never forget that fourth-and-inches call, my goodness.
Nebraska never should have left the Big 12
Preach!!!
They were tired of getting waxed by whoever they played in the Big 12 South
Nebraska belongs in the big 12, I am Texas fan , Nebraska can’t recruit Texas in the big 10. Come back home to your natural rival OU,OSU, Tex
Big 12 had a lot of problems. Now the Big 8 is Nebraska's true home
Agreed.
The play action pass on 4th and 1 with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter. One of my favorite plays of all time.
Thanks for the support guys, these take a lot longer to make being that there is no game log so I have to watch the full game live then rewind and cut so it means a lot. I plan on doing these as this was a lot of fun. Expect at least a couple a week until next season. If you have any games you would like to see covered comment them down below. Im looking for games played before 2010. As longs as I can find them online I will try my best to get them done. It could be Bowl Games, National Championships, Games with NFL Hall of Famers, Upsets or even regular-season games that were just really awesome.
Victors Valiant I don't know if it's possible but if you can make highlights of most nattys major bowl, championship and rivalry games in 90's and 2000's that would be awesome
Dude! You sir are the man! Love your content! As a husker fan I appreciate this! Great game even though we lost! Knowing a year later we would dominate Payton Manning & Tennessee makes it feel better! I am an Alum of Nevada and the 2010 game between Boise St & Nevada was pretty legit!
Thank you so so much for the upload. I was six years old when this happened and saw Ricky many times live. I even met Earl Campbell in downtown Austin. Should’ve never let Mack go.
You are an actual God for this
5:02 nice strip by the Texas defense. That wasn’t an errant pitch it was deflected. Thanks again for the upload sir.
I like the history games... Please more
That call on fourth down at the end of the game might be one of the gutsiest calls I've ever seen. Not to mention the play-by-play commentary on it was perfect.
It was still kinda stupid... with all the pressure Nebraska was able to get
...and so it began the *dominance of Texas football over Nebraska.* It was so lopsided, that coach Osborne retired, and *eventually the Cornhuskers gave up and left.*
As longhorn fan, I still remember how dominant big red used to be, that once proud university was one of the elites in the 90’s , they won a lot!
They need to get back to that again, they’re to proud of a school to stay down. Texas needs to also, they’re not much better right now
that's actually tipe of game that we all wanted good job victor
Old school nice. Awesome videos bro
This was an absolute INCREDIBLE upset!
I was a kid when this game was played. My dad and some of his buddies went to a sports bar to watch the game and all the Nebraska fans were telling him “you guys have no chance, but you made it to the conference championship so you’ll still get a good bowl game and you guys had a good season.” After Texas wins my dad told the Nebraska fans “it’s okay guys, you had a good season and you’ll get a good bowl game.” Karma’s a bitch!
One of the greatest calls of all-time. The BALLS to call this against that team. Pure greatness.
No doubt. Nebraska at that time was in the process of of going 60-3 from 93 to 97 with 3 national championships.
We’ll miss you Donald McNichol Sutherland. 1935-2024 🕊️🕊️🕊️
This game laid the blueprint for combating Nebraska on defense. Misdirection and play action passing was the bane of Nebraska's defense.
Agree. I like to call it max pro for Brown in the passing game and the power/counter game. Their 4-3 defense put all 7 players up at the LOS. Block down pull guard, have Ricky Williams lead opened up massive holes. 4-3 over front is susceptible to the power/Counter game.
@@bmbb1234 yes, the 4-3 under or even 3-4 over/under should have been used. It's a more sound defense against a pro-set. Even so, in the 4-3 under, you can give up big plays in the passing game and the backside blast play opens up. Nebraska also lacked the personnel and patience to play a 3-4. When I also look at the Nebraska team from 1995, I can't help but see warts. That year was not a banner year for CFB. With that said, teams like Alabama 92, Penn State 86, Miami 86-88 would have given that Nebraska team fits because they all had outstanding defenses, great LBs in the case of Penn State especially and all three teams had an outstanding D line and better prep than 95 Florida. Bama and Penn State played zone out of a 3-4. This troubles the option and takes away traps, counter and forces true power football to be played and passing out of 3 & 5 step drop, not Frazier's thing and it is catastrophic against any of the defense I named
James Brown Texas QB said they could and would win and the longhorns did.
“THANK YOU TEXAS” - Gator fans
Was at this game as like a 12 year old. It was unbelievable. Some old drunk peed on my luggage in the RV we travelled in. Lol. Crazy time
I watch this for the first time today in 2024. On the play, where Texas was supposed to do a quarterback, sneak and then threw a surprise pass, did you see the official move the ball back an inch or two at the measurement?
Hey you should do the 1987 Rosebowl! Just want to commemorate the old days
On my list, I might do all the Rosebowls that I can find
The legendary PRIEST HOLMES took over the Texas ground game! POUND THE 🪨
oh now this is genius!!
Still get a kick out of Tom Osborne checking his watch at 14:56. Was he in danger of missing the hotel buffet?
12:06 whoa
Birmingham Alabama's NEWEST ABC station "Alabama's ABC 33/40"
Max pro in passing game and power/counter running game killed nebraska defense.
Heyyyyyyy do the cal-Stanford game where the band went onto the field please. Man I love college football
Every other old Nebraska game is not worth watching in the second half.
Fire content 🔥🔥🔥
Checkout young Ricky Williams.
And a young and healthy Priest Holmes too!!!
So whatever became of that Priest Holmes guy?
He played for the Kansas City Chiefs for 10 years or so. He had a nice career.
Nebraska was in the big 12?
Noah NTG Yes, and they were in it not too long ago. They joined the B1G in 2011
YES, 😅😅😅damn questions like that make me feel old .
They were and the 90's Nebraska teams were some of the best teams of all time. They were a force to be reckoned with. They were the Alabama of the 90's
Found the zoomer
@@VictorsValiant nah Nebraska was Nebraska, no need to compare them to anyone.
That Nebraska program went 60-3 and won three titles with a missed FG for a fourth. Crazy fucking team.
Their losses? The best Arizona State team in their history, Florida State, and this Texas team. You had to be amazing to beat them and god this Longhorn team was.
Go Big Red ❤️❤️❤️
Where was this game played Texas and Nebraska fans?

Typical UT showing up when they have nothing to lose.
Nothing to lose....how do they have nothing to lose in the Big 12 championship game , they are literally playing in the championship game.....for a championship.
