The Gift of Tongues is such a blessing. It saddens me that some churches teach that it is not for today. Tongues is essential for intercessory prayer. The Holy Spirit sometimes allows me to hear what I am praying in the spirit. The car is a great place to pray.

I received the Baptism of Holy Spirit with the evidence of Speaking in Tongues when I twelve years old in the Pentecostal church I grew up in. That's a lot of years ago. I've challenged to spend 30 minutes daily praying in the Spirit. I'm working on the challenge, but I do very much value this form of prayer. No it’s not, stop taking 1 Corinthians 13 out of context. Tongues today and the past is speaking in different native language. Examples: signs for Hebrews to bring back to worship our true God/ lost tribes with difficult translation to master.

The gift of speaking in tongues is a "gift" but it does not mean one is not born again by the spirit of God. That is not correct and should not be said. Where in the bible does it say one have to have the gift of tongues to enter into the kingdom of heaven? I know the bible scripture that shows where all were speaking in tongues. They were given that gift. This is misleading and wrong to say that one is not born again if they do not speak in tongues. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life Your mother a and 2:55 an so on..she was NOT born again and once she got the gift of the tongues she became born again. ??? Luke you said not having the gift of tonuges doenst mean you are not Christian. I am born again and do not have the gift of tongues and I don't need it to enter the kingdom of heaven. this is VERY misleading.
