Great video, awesome tips ! Thank you!! By the way.. why not 93 oct fuel??

A master technician told me that 93 octane has a “just over the line” alcohol content that breaks down the viscosity of lubricants and seals within a motor no made for that high of octane. If your owners manual says it ok, I stand corrected, however I personally use 91 and haven’t had any problems.

Would a 2 toon around 22-24ft with 150hp be enough to ski behind?

Good info... i’ve had two chaparral’s and just bought my first Bennington 23 foot R. Had I not watched this I would’ve hit the waves the exact same way I always have. Good to know! Another question, as far as a boatlift, is it OK to set it up where the lift picks the boat up out of the water from the frame? Or do I need to put the tunes on bunk‘s? I want to pick it up from the frame due to the shallow water I’m in. Thanks again!

Thank you! You will hear many different opinions about deck vs bunk mounts for pontoons/tritoons. No matter what anyone’s opinion is on the subject, the manufacturers will openly tell you it’s actually better for the boat to be lifted by the deck. Bunk lifts beneath the pontoons do not hurt anything, but lifting by the lateral cross channels is best. That’s how boats get loaded and unloaded, big fork lifts. You do however want to make sure there are no through bolts and such where the skids are mounted, and tie some lines (4 point) in your slip and leave them that hold the boat in the right place. When you lift it, the lines get loose, take them off before you drop it. But by leaving the 4 lines in the same position on the dock, it’ll just be thoughtless after the initial set up every time you put her back on the lift. That all make sense? Ps- check out our custom dock lines on TheButtSeatSpray.com - they have poly loop covers that won’t scratch or tarnish your cleats. Congratulations by the way, an R Series Bennington is a SWEET boat!

@@thekidcansell thanks for responding! That is excellent information and also a big relief as I’ve been racking my brain on which way to set up the lift. I will definitely check out those lines as that is a great idea as well! Thank you very much!

A 150 with only two people on that should go faster than 35

25’ with the Bimini up, and a 150hp....35 is a great speed.
