    Neia is an interesting case, she pretty much saved everyone in there unknowingly, she's the perfect example of doing everything right in the wrong way, Nazarick's shadows are the only safe place to be now.

      based on her brainwashing ability, for those that have PSD, there is no need to do racial change on her because her current skill and class set is what will workout best for Ainz. The foundation she is laying down, will out live her.

      @@ameliakyle7054 Most likely at least some of them. The skills she has come from quite specific classes and we've seen from the example of princess Renner that changing races can replace class levels with others. Most notable ones are gaining racial class levels that humanoids simply don't have losing other class levels in the process.

    Neia didn't betray her nation and beliefs. Her nation and beliefs betrayed her. And into this void of purpose walked Ainz. A man who, even as an undead who holds no innate value in the living, held values that were far more moderate and reasonable. He did what nobody else did. Actually tried to form a relationship with Neia. As self serving as his motivations were even that was not outside the human norm. He is just much more empathetic and considerate then anyone in authority that Neia had met, and really he is perhaps better than the great majority of leaders. So of course Neia, betrayed by her own culture, was in an impressionable frame of mind. Her people were weak and it cost them. Ainz was willing to sell them the secret to becoming strong. How can she not see him as superior to the fools and cravens she had been forced to work with before?

    • @ruwibiduya2720

      Nazarick literally schemed and played this whole scenario to happen so it's basically still betrayal. The Roble Kingdom was actually doing just fine and better than other nations but then Demiurge went and put a dent in their nation till it collapsed. You're viewing this with bias understanding of their kingdom with Nazarick's common sense, demihumans and monsters in this new world ARE monstrous and evil (even the Elves are evil mind you...), remember this is world where everyone does everything to survive.
      We're viewing the MC's POV, even him believes that everything what he does is WRONG but still does it for Nazarick and doesn't even care if other people dies as long as it benefits Nazarick

    Remedios may be a blunt weapon
    But not as blunt as the Calca, the Queen of Clubs

  • @qwefg3
    @qwefg3 3 месяца назад +25

    Neia was someone lost without a clue on how to fix thins with an unreasonable boss who offered only criticism and complaints.
    Ainz while undead and more uncaring in a sense... Was ironically more human and humane than her boss.
    Remedios was... Someone out in a position she never was supposed to be given.
    Someone who does things one way because they worked that one time without thinking.
    Someone who will beg for help and also get ready to stab you in the back and forget anything you did for them.
    The other two were the glue to hold the kingdom together while she was the hammer that smashed things.
    So getting someone who speaks the blunt truth, explains what they need to do, and generally is nicer than your boss which only has complaints and no solutions...
    Easy to see why she preaches the word of Ainz.

    • @TheSpawnfan
      @TheSpawnfan 2 месяца назад

      Even worse, Remedios knows she is not cut for a leading position, but feels she has to make it work for the good of the Kingdom.

  • @Bayonet300
    @Bayonet300 3 месяца назад +38

    I think Remedios' perspective on Calca's ideals is a false one as even Calca admits her duty is to "sacrifice the lives of the few for the survival of the many" in a crisis, which is part of why Demiurge killed her and Kelart but left Remedios alive.
    While Calca could have been more personally aggressive in consolidating her authority, a task she largely left to Kelart, I don't agree there's much she or anyone could have done once Demiurge set his sights on her kingdom and had a foothold in the Abelion Hills among the demi-humans shortly after Nazarick's arrival.

      She never did
      The important thing she did during the arc is
      1. Becoming someone that Ainz care enough to give the rune bow
      2. Rally a pow-turn-to-militia squad to a last stand and die in the progress, while holding long enough for Ainz to swept in a won the fight
      3. Even if it was an act from demiurge she did repel the demon emperor and become some sort of national hero
      4. Along with Shizu Delta she cause a part of the demihuman to rebel against the demon emperor
      5. Her speech basically ensure a more militaristic approach in the long run with the might is right theme of it
      While this sound weird a strong military and unity is what they need the most after the war which she provide
      6. Unlike remedios selfish idealism approach to the kingdom situation, neia realistic might is right approach clearly far mor favorable in the eyes of the people after the war
      7. While this is a strecth , neia basically act like the Nazi between WW1 AND WW2 where they manage to rebuilt almost everything after their defeat and cause them to be more militaristic and more importanly stronger
      In conclusion, all she did is improving the military might of the nation using the word of ainz, and securing the unity of the people in their darkest hour

    8:30 Hold up. So did Demiurge just launch an invasion assuming Ainz would know how to work with it, but Ainz had no clue about the invasion and just rolled with it as usual? Must've read over that part.

    • @theconductor2969
      @theconductor2969 3 месяца назад +13

      Iirc Ainz did know about the invasion he just didnt have all of the details about it. Instead of having Demiurge tell him everything about the plan (because he wasn't confident he could follow it properly and was scared of being found out) he just told Demiurge to give him the basics and of what he should do. Demiurge gave him some info about their goals and basically told Ainz to wing the rest of it. Ainz in response said he might do unexpected things to as a test for Demiurge (as a cover for any mistakes). Could be wrong tho.
      Edit: I think one of the things Demiurge told Ainz to do was convert someone to his side because it would make taking over the place later easier. I think the person Ainz was trying to convert was Remedios.

      @ameliakyle7054 3 месяца назад +14

      @@theconductor2969 The plan Ainz was given simply outlined important parts of the plan and then anywhere that wasn't crucial was just: "Lord Ainz will decide the best action to take here" so since it was the 'perfect plan' he said he'll mess up on purpose to test how well they adapt to problems. Demiurge never once expected or planned for Ainz to create a cult but sees Neia as an incredibly valuable chess piece left for him by Ainz

    Just wish Calca didn’t have to die. she was not an incompetent ruler by any means and was for all intensive purposes, trying to turn her country around, but constantly being held back by a corrupt church and Senate of selfish immature nobles, and ended up paying the price for THEIR mistakes. In the end, she couldn’t even fall in love before she died in one of the most gruesome way possible I’m not even sure what the point of this part of the story was aside to solidify the fact that Nasrick Ainz oowal gown is clearly beyond redemption and reprieve. At this point, to be honest I’ve come to find myself, hoping that at this point Ainz and the rest of his guild by extension end up getting bitten in the ass due to his inability to actually rain in his NPC’s simply giving into his “evil” nature.

    Another thing is when they first arrived to the kingdom they saw multiple races living in harmony, that was the first crack in the teachings Neia was meant to believe in, it showed how the Evil side had achieved what they the Good side could not, even with Rem dismissing it, it opened the door to doubt as they could see the proof before there eye's that with enough strength peace could be achieved.
    Plus the abuse Rem was giving to Neia mostly because she was an archer/scout rather then a warrior/swordsman, whilst Ainz only showed her respect and gave her a weapon that was suited to her, this was the second step to break the thoughts of what side is good and evil. The "Good" side was abusive and unable to achieve anything without help, whilst the "Evil" side achieved what the good was meant to and even offered help multiple times.
    I don't see this as betrayal, as Rem was the one to betray her teaching by being corrupt and abusive, whilst Neia is doing what she believes is in the best interest of her country and her people by trying to encourage others to strengthen themselves rather then rely on those who could become corrupt (Rem) and talking about the "peace" she saw first hand.
