One thing I didn't cover maybe well enough is that the Japanese import 4K release of Godzilla lack any English language. There's no dub, but also there are no English subtitles. If you import, you will need to rip the movie, download subtitles, and play it back in a way that can use the external subtitles. Infuse works perfect for this on Apple TV and included the ability to download the subs right within the app. Thanks!
How do you get the right subtitles?
I purchased the 4k disc from Japan also, but when I search for the English subtitles, there are many different ones to choose from. I tried 3 of them so far, but they weren't the right ones.
The Japanese disc release did not include English subtitles. You need to download the subtitles or access them separately. You'll need to rip the movie from the disc and use a program like Plex or Infuse to watch it with external subs.
@@Techthusiasm I did rip the movie and put it on my Ziddoo. With the Ziddoo I can load external subtitles. But I'm having difficulty finding the right subtitles. When I search for them, there's a huge list of different subtitles that comes up. And I have tried a few of them, but they're not matching up with the movie. I adjust the delay to synchronize with the movie, but 15 minutes later It's out of sync again.

Watched the Netflix Atmos mix yesterday. The audio was insane in my home cinema (Perlisten S 9.3.6) in fact loved it so much ordered the disc from Japan. First disc I have purchased in years and such a shame no Kscape offering :( but a really good film with fantastic audio.

I bought it on iTunes. Unfortunately the town where I live never had showings at our theatre for this one. I loved it. It might have to be a double dip if it comes out on disc in North America.
I watched on iTunes via my 2nd Gen Apple 4K TV, and I thought the movie was just okay overall... The video quality was good with some really impressive visual effects, but the audio didn't wow me TBH. I definitely wouldn't put it in my top 30 best sounding movies list, but it had a few impressive moments for sure.
Jaremy, is the Dolby Atmos on iTunes only for the Japanese version or for English version also?
iTunes does not have an English audio track, per the video. Only Netflix.

Watched on Netflix originally then ordered on iTunes to re watch with my wife. Was a huge coup for Netflix to get this movie as there was no indication when we were going to get a release. Even bigger deal now knowing Netflix has the superior version. Best movie I've seen in a while ....
How can you see all the Bitrates and audio stuff on the Apple TV? Is there a hidden feature?
You need to access the developer menu. I have a video on the channel showing how to do it.
