- En la DANA de Septiembre de 2019 perdí muchos animales, entre ellos la Torcaz. Durante una semana estuvo toda la zona completamente inundada por su cercanía al rio. Los animales que no morían ahogados morían de hambre. A día de hoy no conservo ningún híbrido. Esta primavera intentaré comenzar de cero con nuevas torcaces.
In the flood of September 2019 I lost many animals, including wood pigeon. For a week the entire area was under water due to proximity river. Animals that didn´t drown starved to death. Today don´t keep any hybrids. This spring I´ll try start from scratch with new wood pigeons.
Wood Pigeons are some of the most beautiful birds out there. Europe is lucky too have them. I wish we had them here in the States.

They're really cute and chonky but they're dumb as rocks compared to feral city pigeons! I still love them, though
What is truly is amazing is not the hybrid offspring, but the fact the Wood Pigeon hen would live in a coop with her mate. Normally, when released, it would be the last you saw her. It would be beyond rare if the offspring is fertile, however. Great post. I have been searching for evidence of Wood Pigeon-domestic pigeon hybridization for many years. Thank you!
What a beautiful offspring. Very interesting how the hybrid baby has a different vocalization compared to a racing pigeon, I didn't even think about that possibility when crossbreeding. Very good job raising these beautiful birds!

Bravo . Je n'avais jamais vu des hybrides pigeon Palombe. Le monsieur qui les montre les a très bien apprivoisés. On remarque bien que le mâle pigeon courtise une Palombe femelle et ensuite on voit les petits. Merci c'est impeccablement bien présenté.

Du bist ein wahrer Taubenspezialist! !! Die verpaarung von Ringeltauben mit Brieftauben gelingt selten! Die Aufzucht durch Brieftauben ist mir auch schon gelungen, aber nicht die Nachzucht . Der Hund sieht auch aus wie ein Wolfsmischling 😀👍🙋♂️

Es que esa torcaz era diferente, prefería estar con las palomas antes que con otras torcaces. Crié muchas pero ninguna como ella.

Just arrived from feeding my Wood Pigeon.
Beautiful hybrid. Rock pigeons and Wood pigeons share a lot in common. Even though the wood pigeons are technically larger at around 16in and rock's around 13-14in. I've seen one hybrid band tailed rock pigeon cross in my 30+yrs in the avian field. It was RARE but it can happen folks. I've worked "hands on" with everything from Warblers to Birds of Prey. And most doves and pigeons will hybridize if given the opportunity. Unlike other birds which are far more species specific.
The male is not a rock pigeon it is a racing pigeon

Their round don inherited their amazing beauty....he-she taked after both its parents a lot,and all many half breeds he looks wonderful
Hola, yo las he criado, y se han marchado en el primer celo, si están sueltas se van, y si están encerradas, no suelen criar, por lo menos yo no lo he conseguido. Es un animal que necesita estar libre.

Great video story! Just about the birds and their journey without any cheesy music. The hybrid is a cool looking bird. It would be interesting if you were ever able to get ahold of a Band-tailed Pigeon and cross it with a Wood Pigeon.

No pude comprobarlo con ninguno de los dos híbridos porque el primero se emparejó con una torcaz y no volvió. Desconozco si habrá llegado a criar. El segundo salió una mañana a volar y no regresó, algo le pasó. No llegó a emparejarse con ninguna paloma.

Hallo ,Danke fürs zeigen - sehr interessant, ich habe solche Versuche auch schon gemacht .geht warscheinlich nur bei Volierenhaltung. Sonst ist die Gefahr groß das die Jungtauben weg kommen. Ich habe sie von Brieftauben ausbrüten und großziehen lassen .sie sind auch schön mit dem Schwarm mitgeflogen. Leider kam eine nicht wieder . Greifvögel oder was anderes .eine ist krank geworden - Atmung .du hast sie auch schön zahm ,das ist auch hilfreich ! Viel Erfolg!👍

Rare breed and I was thinking about cross breeding rock pigeon with bandtail pigeon but seeing yours with small nostril kind of disappoint me. Have you see your hybrid fly? How long can it stay flying compared to the rock pigeons? Do it fly faster or have better agility?
Mine flew like homing pigeons. Except for the nuptial flight which was more like wood pigeons. They were certainly more agile and much more nervous. Regarding the nostril, I think it depends on what breed it is crossed with.

I wonder if I can find me a female of these wood pigeons & cross x breed it to mine ?? That'd be interesting, since mine has a yellow beak & yellow feet.
@@eddierene_89 Hi. I think it is possible to cross them but I am not sure at all. Because the wood pigeon and the common pigeon are of the genus Columba, but the band-tailed pigeon is Patagioenas. Anyway, pigeons can also be crossed with doves and they are of different genders so anything is possible. Good luck

i have 3 found on the street were around 3 weeks old 1 from end 2021 and 2 from 2022 skinny birds had to forcefed them to safe them,turns out 1 male 2 females 1 tame other 2 semi try to breed next year

Im trying to crossbreed Wood pigeon - racing pigeon and all babys keep dying. Do i have to hand Feed them? If so what should i Feed them?

Yes,is necessary hand feed them because in most cases them die. After 4 or 5 days I separate them and feed with hand rearing food for parrots.
If you cannot get the parrot food, you can feed it with chicken starter food.

El F1 sería el cruce obtenido de dos especies o razas distintas y el R1 sería el retrocruce de ese F1 hacia uno de sus padres.
