I became a fan of Empire of the Sun in 2013, after listening to "DNA". This is my first time listening to a song of Sleepy jackson and Luke's voice is still so soothing.
So, I came here after half-heartedly following EOTS for several years. I had no idea. This is brilliant. Just the few songs I've heard have made me a huger fan of this band than I ever have been of EOTS.
I moved to Perth back in 99, used to listen to his dad play at the Indie bar, down Scarborough beach, top muso as well, his sister is Katie Steele from the band Little birdy, seen these lads play somewhere in Perth, they rocked, their dad must of been a big influence, hazy days back then, smoke filled bars, loved it!! Rock on!!
I was born & raised in WA. Loved the 90s. So many cool memories and great indie bands. My biggest regret is my male BFF who also died tragically roadied for Jeff Buckley in 95 and I passed on free tickets as I was only a teenager ar the time...Now, I live in Melbs close to where Rowland S. Howard lived...so many legends.

Saw TSJ open for Silverchair in Melb for the Diarama tour and was most impressed and this to me was their standout song of there gig so I bought the album. Empire however will eclipse all of Luke Steeles previous music however all his music is excellent!

Great little place (that's not there anymore) Kendrick Lamar played there too two days after I did. I've just listened to thectwo empire albums in one day now starting the third n already jumped to sleepy Jackson to see the origins or the build up to empire after reading onlg today the reasons for their splits while looking forward to new music. Because they create that buzz. All this from hearing a snippet of the song dreams on Holmes Watson A week ago.
Hard to believe that guy is in empire of the sun he looks like he's Rock oriented in this and in empire of the sun he looks fabulous like... Hard to describe and the two genres are so different!
