All those say this is simplicity and a good life don’t know what they are talking about, I grew up like this in a South African village. I remember how my family and our neighbours used to yearn for a better life, access to proper sanitation and electricity. It’s easy for 1st world country citizens to praise this but in actual fact judging from what I see this family is just getting by and there aren’t many nutrients in this meal. I bet you wouldn’t want to trade places with them.
i think people don't want to come off as judgmental. i also think people idealize rural, simple life. as far as the meal, nettles are incredibly nutritious esp. if they are eating it with millet. they only need a bit more protein which they can get with beans/legumes. i eat greens and a carb/grain all the time. but, it's also true that i don't have to.
When people say the simple life, they usually mean getting back to nature (rather than shoving a frozen meal in the microwave). And actually nettles are full of nutrients.
It's easy to say their life is better, but we need to ask them whether is it sufficient for them or they want some more facilities for the children like house, clothing, water electricity. It's not only about the food!!!
This situation reminds me of my old life where I couldn’t afford to go to school, single meal in a day left with our mother but she didn’t give up! God bless all people in challenging life.
This really puts into perspective how much we take for granted. We go to the grocery store and get what we need/want and this family is working with the bare minimum. It really opens up your eye's.

The mother sits there and stuffs her mouth while the baby looks and cries from hunger. I’ve seen it in numerous videos where the mother does it. So this Is not the first time. She’d have the baby literally sitting in her lap, she still wouldn’t feed her. While in her lap; crumbs of rice would occasionally fall onto the baby’s lap, the baby would then pick the rice and eat it. I don’t see why this mother think it’s ok. I really do not see improvements to this family's lives, given this is just ONE video on their life. I cannot see any fairness in this filming. I've always eaten nettles, either as a soup or a boiled vegetable, it's full of nutrients & where I come from in the UK it was a common dish growing up & cooking removes the sting. It clears the skin & the cleans the blood. Use only the young nettles, as a veg it tastes like spicy spinach & as a soup you can add whatever is handy. People have forgotten how to use wild plants as food & for medicinal purposes. I still use nettles, thoroughly washed in my diet.

I have lived in Summer cabins being self-sufficient but my life was better than this. I wouldn't want to live that far down.

These kids have more manners, respect and love between each other than many out there living in big houses. When they say money can buy everything they are blind, you can't buy family love and such bond.
But this family does not look the least bit happy, they are in precariousness and urgently need nutritional treatment... just seeing that they eat paste, I suppose it is wheat... from minute 6:25 it seems that they are being scolded and the children have to eat from 1 single plate

She’s a girl! Only the oldest is a boy. But nonetheless I agree with you. If the little sister don’t give food to the baby she doesn’t eat. The mother sits there and stuffs her mouth while the baby looks and cries from hunger. I’ve seen it in numerous videos where the mother does it.
So this Is not the first time. She’d have the baby literally sitting in her lap, she still wouldn’t feed her.
While in her lap; crumbs of rice would occasionally fall onto the baby’s lap, the baby would then pick the rice and eat it. I don’t see why this mother think it’s ok. I would never in a million yrs would do this. Never. 🙄

I've always eaten nettles, either as a soup or a boiled vegetable, it's full of nutrients & where I come from in the UK it was a common dish growing up & cooking removes the sting. It clears the skin & the cleans the blood. Use only the young nettles, as a veg it tastes like spicy spinach & as a soup you can add whatever is handy. People have forgotten how to use wild plants as food & for medicinal purposes. I still use nettles, thoroughly washed in my diet.
My mum still picks out wild plants from the garden and boils them for breakfast

Untuk hidup bersih tidak harus kaya,miskin tidak berarti kotor.utk hidup bersih harus menjadi gaya hidup ..di tempat ini tersedia air yg cukup,udara juga tidak sampai membekukan air .tapi pola hidup tutun temurun yg kotor membuat mereka tidak pernah berpikir utk hidup bersih ...semoga ada yg bisa mengedukasi mereka tentang pentingnya hidup bersih,tidak peduli kita kaya atau miskin.
