Oh wow, first time hearing these guys. I'll definitely have to check out all their other stuff now. You can tell they listened to alot of rise against growing up
Yeah, I think its the hardcore vocals/ vibe over riffs and a chord progression that are much more punk than metal. You really dont hear that much anymore.
My dead brother showed me this band then i went to warped tour 06 in dallas texas yall played the decline in the rain and i wish he could have been there Mike he fuckin od at 20 years old fucking tragic
There's a band from Edmonton called Choke....sign them if they're still together. Seriously. You need em and they are old as fuck but they need you too. Check out their albums needless to say and the other album slow dade
@@DustinSteckler-lh6cb I dunno why, but Fat Mike never really did go for the whole technical "Prog Punk" thing in general, Canadian bands in particular. Choke, Belvedere, Mute, Willhelm Scream etc... perhaps dealing with Propagandhi's perpetual drama was enough to scare him off.
Ah fuck yeah! First saw them open for comeback kid, who opened for rise against, who opened for the headliner Silverstein, which i left for.. (didn’t appreciate most popular emo bands at the time)
I'd like to know too. Maybe Joe didn't want to keep making punk inspired music anymore and kind phased out of the scene. Also, although they put out two more records with Fat Wreck, Mike seemingly pushed them a little too hard or wanted something for the band that they didn't want for themselves. Who knows?
Love this channel.. Fatty, back in 2007.. (South Africa/backstage passport tour).. Hog Hoggidy Hog was the opening band.. Did you enjoy the fresh reggae punk that they brought to the table? If you cant remember.. (You 'sipped' vodka through your straw from the mic stand till the very end 🤣 ) here is a reminder: ruclips.net/video/jGCb2D1QBfI/видео.html&ab_channel=HamdrakGaPhin
I miss them also. That whole album kicks ass.

It's what you call a complete album. From start to finish.
Toured Smoke Or Fire back in the day such a great band and great dudes. Still listen to them to this day!
Loved this band. Fat was magic especially during those early 2000s into 2010s
Mike's always had good taste
Amazing band. One of the best I've seen live!
Still have all their cds, miss these guys
That whole disc was amaze!
pretty cool, I could swear i've heard them 20 years ago on some hc compilation. But the introductory jingle for the podcast is way better
I remember them being a band that everyone respected. It feels like a year or 2 ago but by now just be a few decades
Great song/album. Great New England based band.
Born to rise against me
My home town hero's RVA
This has such an early 00s punk rock/hardcore sound. It’s like old Saves The Day/Rise Against/Thrice.
Yeah, I think its the hardcore vocals/ vibe over riffs and a chord progression that are much more punk than metal. You really dont hear that much anymore.
Damn, at some point someone has to do it...
Sarcasm.

Partied with these guys in college, great dudes
Is that Jeremy Renner singing? I haven't heard these guys, but I'll be picking this up, for sure.
It´s Joe McMahon - moved to Europe, Münster, Germany for a couple of years and played also bass guitar for the mighty NOTHINGTON
Smoke or fire representing the east coast sound
Nice! I was just going through their disco! I still prefer This Sinking Ship or The Speakeasy - That's the real iconic shit imo
New to smoke or fire! Awesome stuff
Sound dashboard confessionalish
wonder if they still have Mike from DeeCracks on drums.
definitely is a great song. let’s get some new bands that sound like this on the label! and a new banner pilot album!
There's a band from Edmonton called Choke....sign them if they're still together. Seriously. You need em and they are old as fuck but they need you too. Check out their albums needless to say and the other album slow dade

What's a shame? Why is Mike being so ambiguous? Aw, who cares....great song.

Did mike ever take singing lessons or did he just figure out how to be a better singer as he got older?

The editing.. can't watch. Had a seizure.
Wow, that is music I do not like.
Sounds like the same shit that was happening 25 years ago... yawn
Well it was released 12 years ago, so it was only 13 years past sounding like the same ol’shit at that point 😅
@darrenedwarddolhanty6814 even worse...that just makes me think it was inauthentic
Check us out on the tube and spoty MIKE, or I swear I'm gonna shit on someone's lawn... not yours, but someone's 😂 Sonic Souvenir 🤘🏻
